My two sisters and I listened to this hymn today in memory of our mom, whose birthday is today. We dedicated the hymn to her two years ago at a memorial service we held for her/our friends. Each of us is grateful to God and to our loving, selfless, joyous, CONSECRATED mom who expressed His goodness in her every word and deed. With tender tears, I send you my thanks for helping spread the joy and peace of life in Christ. May we all live in and for Him, as our mom surely continues to do.
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (September 26), I played this for Sunday School assembly. However, it was to the tune, PATMOS, composed by William H. Havergal, 1793-1870.
I like Kari Jobe and Klaus Kuehn. I like this song. I DON"T LIKE how they butchered (i.e. changed ) the lyrics. Hymns don't need "improving". It confuses people. Even Kari Jobe gets confused at 2:56 and has to look at the screen to see the modified lyrics. I bought the mp3 from Amazon.com anyway.
Example of CORRECT LYRICS:
vss 1: Take my life and let it be, consecrated Lord to Thee
Take my moments and my days, let them flow in ceaseless praise
Do you think Jesus gets along with Zeus? I think he might be jealous of Zeus' ability to hurl those lightning strikes down at Earth. Wait, is that Zeus who does that or Thor? It's so hard to keep track of all those guys. Actually, I'll bet Jesus can hurl lightning with the best of them. I just don't think he dresses as well. I mean, Thor has that cape and sledgehammer and everything, and Jesus just walks around all day in a smock.
This is the song that the Chinese Christians were singing silently during a service in Communist China, in the movie China Cry. Thinking about them singing this song silently makes me almost cry.
I really liked your video and your channel. If you need any help getting this video or channel exposed I use a site called tubeviews.(net) It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position. God Bless!
Holy faith buried deep inside the ground. Scattered prayers will never be found. A powerful vortex of dark unholy power. Victims of the master daemon's ax. Skull eyes shall weep the tears of blood. Their souls are now as black as night. The mortal remains buried in Lucifer's park. Don't play over there after dark. I wrote these words with the blood of faith. With the death of light and rotting prayers. Demons and darkness rule the Earth. Our mission is now complete. Hail Satan!

However, it was to the tune PATMOS, composed by William H. Havergal. The older adult Sunday School's class' lesson was from Matthew 1:18-25 and 2:13-15. When I served in the Navy, I attended the base chapel service on Christmas Eve Day (1989) with this scripture being read. This was the closing hymn. That's why I selected it for Sunday.

A few choir members did an amazing rendition of this song today; this sounds so similar. I don't know a person in the sanctuary that it did not move.
Thank you for this beautiful worship music.

A pastor I heard said that too many people have the attitude of wanting just the title:
"Take my life -- and let it be!"
without continuing on to the next line:
"consecrated, Lord, to Thee."
May our prayer be the entire hymn!
