The dv4 is a piece of shit. I bought one one year ago and at one year and one week. I bought at Best Buy and they had to order one and I got it two weeks after I paid for it. They count the warranty from the paid date rather than the date you get it. The screen died at one year. I just got a price to fix it from Best Buy for $671. I paid $750 for it. Don't buy a HP you will be buying another one soon.

i have a hp pavilion dv4 (the entertainment/gaming one) and its very good and i am very happy with it (v. fast, good for gaming ect) BUT i am having a couple of problems with the battery life, and also with the media centre (it just randomly stops responding) does anyone have any advice?

btw i would definately reccomend this PC instead of say a macbook or acer model.

Yeah, theres a lot of reviews saying that the battery doesn't last very long at all. It comes with a 6-cell battery that only lasts for about 2 hours, but you're able to buy an 8-cell for about $30 that I've seen on amazon that'l give you a few more hours of battery life.

i have the same laptop, its really cool, its plays COD4 into the medium settings i got Geforce 105m, you can fix the fan through bios settings and i think mine runs quiet and cool because of the 3.0ghz proc.
