  • ik heb dit op single

  • one of the fullest romantic songs ever <3 <3 <3

  • Wow, this looks like theyre playing it live. Certainly doesnt sound exactly like the record. What a great band.

  • Looks like Liam Gallagher took a few style pointers from this fella.

  • THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE BEST FUCKING SONG IN THE HOLE FUCKING WORLD. X0<3

  • I see a Jeff Beck (1:13) but I do not see a Clapton.

  • Great song!

  • Great tune, love the Yards :)

  • The best....!!!!!

  • It's crazy to think that only five decades ago music was actually MUSIC.

  • For my Love of old great music :X

  • POUR RETROUVER MON AMOUR JE DONNERAIS TOUT L'OR DU MONDE

  • Jeff Beck @ 1.30m

  • oh sweet, another fear n loathing song :)

  • IT'S SAID THAT CLAPTON LEFT THE GROUP 'CAUSE OF THIS SONG. HE LIKED BLUES, R&B- BUT THE YARDBIRDS ALSO PLAYED BLUES-AND NOW HIS SOLO CAREER IS FULL OF POP SONGS.

  • @MrKarpote The Yardbirds started as a Blues Group, when they decided to go roch Eric left...

  • una maravilla de canción!!

  • Comment removed

  • This song was written by Graham Gouldman, who was later a co-founder of 10cc. He also wrote "Bus Stop" that the Hollies did...

  • type in I HEART TFS and see this version! it can't compare to this, but i hope u like it :)

  • i like his sunglasses it makes the lead singer look cool

  • Clapton on guitar!!!! No one ever touch the master!!!!

  • @Bulldog17ful im pretty sure jeff beck is on guitar

  • @Bulldog17ful Clapton did play on this song originally...on the album...

but he left the group right after the album was recorded. The tried to bring in Jimmy Page but he turned it down at the time, wanting to continue to do session work. So, they brought in Jeff Beck, who is who you see playing in this video. In 1966 Jimmy Page was finally fed up with session work and joined the band.on Bass..although he did switch to lead guitar and Chris Dreja switched to Bass.

  • @Bulldog17ful If you look through YouTube for a song called Happenings Ten Years Time Ago....you should be able to find the video with both Jeff and Jimmy playing lead....although Jeff has the primary lead in it.....

    and it kicks butt....

  • now just why do you suppose he has those sunglasses on? Sun in his eyes maybe?

  • @mistiya you had to look cool !!!!!

  • something "beatling" in their style??

  • The Black Keys - Lonely Boy?

  • Beck Clapton Page! Put that trio together again! The yardbirds where the best of the best of ROCK!

  • Lurve Jeff Beck's cheekbones.

  • Yardbirds were a GREAT 60s band ahead of their time. After numerous personnel changes they evolved into LED ZEPPELIN. True Music History!

  • @WytZox1

Who was the most famous personnel change to get away? Trivia: Eric Clapton

  • @FNOT4YOU -- Wow! I never knew Clapton was a Yardbird. But I did see him in concert w/ CREAM back in 1968. Zappa & the Mothers were the opening act.

  • 26 dislikes looool! Are they nutty?? This is rock at its best! They must be brain dead or something! LOool!

  • @babyRoses7 -- Or fans of rap? LOL☺

  • We are the mods! We are the mods! We are, we are, we are the mods!

  • the bass player is handsome!

  • Crom! The Force is strong with these lads.

  • And so, the seeds of Led Zepplin were planted.

  • Keith Relf is the singer..also a great blues harp player..he was taken by electrocution in 1977 I believe...sad epitaph...These guys were raw here ...

  • @SEAMOKTactical Totally agree :)

  • Those guys are hooooooottt. OMG Jeff Beck... and that singer... and the way they sing... I am melting.

  • chuckiejay..... its common knowlege that when they were together THEY HAD THE POWER to make the planets align.

  • nai re fileeeeeeeeee dwseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Interesting that a young Jeff Beck is seen in this whereas the single featured Clapton. He must have just quit

  • Rock Star = Keith Relf! Here,in his shades with the Brian Jones hairdo,Jeff Beck also in the mid 1960's!! Love these guys fashions (and music) even more in 66/67 when flower power came in! WOW!What an amazing fucking time to be young!!

  • I think this was taken from American Bandstand - there was a strict dress and dance code.

  • 1,000,000x better than the trash they play on the radio. R.I.P yardbirds...

  • Dig the ties!

  • of de teming is presionante!ajajajajabuen tema!

  • Keith went before he got the full recognition he so richly deserved. So nbloody talented, brilliant.

  • essa banda é muito foda, conheci com HEART FULL OF SOUL e aprendi logo a tocar ela no violao e agora quero tocar FOR YOUR LOVE pois é muito massa essa musica \,,/

  • the only answer is to get back into the music scene again, ime 45 and a drummer, the music today is crap, anyone interested???

  • @rabbithog We need a time machine;)

  • I guess they got 1st place in top 25 at 70s that's why there is 24 dislikes. O.O

  • I always loved The Yardbirds since the late 70's wen I read in an interview that the guitarrist from LZ was in the Ybirds. They have so many fantastic songs!! Keith Relf and the guy from Sandy Denny's band Zephyr both if I'm not mistaken and @ about the same time. I like the song where they are all humming sorry I 4got the name but Shapes Of Things and all Yardbird songs.4 a time I thot that song by the Blues McGoo's was Yardbirds 'koz of that riff u know what one I'm talking about(?)

  • Jeff Beck!!! YES!!!!!!

  • 1,337,000. 'Nuff said.

  • He looks just like Tom Petty!!!

  • @91fatboy51 Wrong! . . Tom Petty looks like him . .

  • @duqmiguel You are absolutely correct, it's great to meet people that appreciate the Yardbirds and know about the history/trivia behind them. Keith Relf was born in 1943 and Tom Petty in 1950. Petty formed the the HeartBreakers in 1976, the same year that Keith electrocuted himself practicing with an ungrounded guitar/amplifier (5/14/76). That's one for the records, how many famous musicians have been electrocuted by their instrument??? I can't think of another, can you? Let me know if you do.

  • @91fatboy51 Excellent response!

  • @91fatboy51 The guy from Zephyr same thing happened to him. That was the band with Sandy Denny I think.Anyway, The Yardbirds were always so fantastic when I read back in the 70's that the lead guittarrist from Led Zep was in this band I started listening to them and I love every song they play. For a time I thot that song by the Blues McGoo's was The Yardbirds 'koz that riff sounds similar 2 Zeppelin.Shapes of Things is a wicked cool song!! and I 4get the name of that song where they are humming.

  • @91fatboy51 I believe Ace Frehley was electrocuted on stage...possibly in Florida in the 70's...that's the only one I can think of off hand.

  • @TheMcSomething You are right, but he lived thru the electrical Zap, I think?.. At least his body did, his mind?.. Another one for the record is Brad Delp, lead vocalist for the band Boston, only person on record (that I know) committed suicide by using 2 BBQ grills, he loaded them up with lit charcoal, pulled them into his bathroom, stuffed towels around the doors and lay down and waited. He died of carbon monoxide poisoning on the bathroom floor. Makes you wonder, what is inside their heads...

  • brilliant, mate. thanks for uploading

  • The Beck Era of the Yardbirds was my favorite Era of the Yardbirds

  • the original guitarist on this song was eric clapton not jeff beck and he got the sitar effect fm a 12 string while lying on his back in the studio with a shit load of beer in him

  • These guys sure made a good choice with Beck as guitarist. Here, he does an amazing job of simulating a harpsichord live on 12-string, later on "Heart Full of Soul" he reproduces a sitar on 6-string! His guitar-hero antics on the live version of "I'm a Man" are beyond crazy for that time. He really did a lot to put them on the map and create the first hard rock/metal guitar sounds, yet seems to get little credit, even from his fellow Yardbirds.

  • back when girls went crazy for real musicians

  • Love those sunglasses on Keith. Remember when this song first came out. Still rings true -- true enough

  • Rock Gods to the Max.

  • it was loud brash , but the best , the 60,s had the best guitarists going even now

  • This is brilliant! Why oh why is new "music" such rubbish!? I would kill to see a 60's group live! Real instruments, real singers . . . sigh. Everybody's stone bonkers today as far as I'm concerned.

  • @EmilyARTS I totally agree with you on that..I love this kind of music..long live the beat groups of the 1960's

  • @EmilyARTS there still is just hardly on majority of mainstream stations

  • @EmilyARTS listen to Tool or the black keys, you'll feel differently.

  • @a11mykn33gr0w5 I was only referring to more mainstream, such as rap, hip-hop, club, etc. I'm into newer indie stuff (I am starting a retro-y group myself, as well). Thank you for the suggestions, I will make sure to check them out :)

  • @EmilyARTS I agree with you to a certain degree. There is still talent out in the ether yet everyone is so caught up in the "popular" music that they have no idea what originality is anymore. I am young but i try to keep an open mind to all kinds of music and that which really stands out from the "mainstream". The so called "popular" music that you hear on the radio today is not talent, it takes a singer and a song they didn't write to be radio worthy.

  • @Duuuuuug I agree 100%.

  • @EmilyARTS Yer right.....only one thing....many of the musicians were stone bonkers then too.

    jest sayin' :)

  • @vagabondsongs LOL, they weren't stone bonkers, they were stoned and bonkers. There's a difference ;P

  • @EmilyARTS But there is the problem of having to listen to it through the sound of women being murdered.

  • @pillotalk LOL! I completely cracked up seeing this in my inbox. XD too true. It's like, "Scream when the song's OVER, stupid girls!"

  • Still One Of Best Songs Ever

  • Did not Fleetwood Mac do this song?

  • omg first time i heard this i was in 3rd grade it changed my life!!!!!!!

  • @baysidesmart I hope in better. In that case im glad firend :)

  • Aaah the sixties

  • Love the old school stuff :)

  • heard this on fear and loathing, great song

  • So now we understand the pop culture reference of 'yardbirds' from Wizard101

  • Pollo al ast.

  • A good tune, maybe not great, but certainly influential on the world of rock. This was the song which pushed Clapton to quit the band, apparently because A) it wasn't blues, and B) because it had no lead guitar in the song (the studio version used no guitar at all, only harpsichord). When Beck joined (and later Page), it really opened up the Yardbirds to the versatility of style that allowed the creation of my favorite Yardbirds music.

  • Yardbirds - I really love your kind of raw and unpolished garage style of rock music. My hobby is to rediscover all those bands that did not become as successful as you were - the bands that didn´t "broke through. It´s a fantastic musical treasure. Listen (Youtube) for example to:

THE ZETTLERS and their versions of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah"

Really f....g good with a bloody driving beat.

THE GOLLIWOGS and the song "Tell me". Check up the singer...Yes...it´s him!!!!

  • WTF was up with the sunglasses?!

  • @SkidRowJosephine Is this a trick question? Sunglasses are cool.

    Kids.

  • yardbirds aint all that

  • Comment removed

  • Jeff Beck who can stand beside him? Clapton? Paige? Manatos de platter?

  • Man I wish they still made music like this :(. Thank you to Wolffishfish for putting this up.

  • For Your Love

    Good song

  • As much air-time as this song got when it first came out, I'm suprised it only got to #6 on Billboard's Top 40 Charts in June of 1965.

  • Great clip , they were a great great inovative band. For me for-fathers of alternative rock :D

  • Terrific!

  • OLD SCHOOL, ROCK!

    Can it, be any better?

  • se parecen a the beatles xd

  • I love this song except for the switch up at 0:55. It just loses its feel and becomes another generic 60's pop song. Great song though.

  • @Scrappy1138 No Way Man

  • If the Hollies and the Doors had a baby...and lovely Beck...

  • This was a time when a guy would do anything for the love of his life.

  • great love song...great words for a true love...

  • Written by future 10cc member Graham Gouldman.

  • Beck, Clapton, Page.......how did these guys find so many great guitarists??

  • @chuckiejay they weren't that great at that moment...

  • @chuckiejay john Mally

  • I really love this song. It reminds me of a great period of my life. The Yardbirds was one of my "idols". At that time it was a little bit "heavy" to dig unknown bands. One of my favorites were THE ZETTLERS. Check up their versions of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah". The recordings were made 1965. It´s raw and honest irresistible good garage rock music with a bloody "drive".

  • gosh i was 17 that time don pedro

  • they shoulda all sported the roy orbison shades man

  • thumbs up if your listioning in 2012!

  • @MrBonespider1 ????? I think you took Thursdays pill

  • Dead right. They generated an atmosphere and energy that still shines through, with fa money and a mere speck of the tech assistance they could command today.Good comment,Bastard.

  • riferito al 1965 era una musica di rottura, non tutti lo hanno capito

  • The Yardbirds were of their time. Not ahead. All these idiots who pick out bands from the distant past that they like and proclaim them as "ahead of their time" are total and complete idiots.

  • @FuckngBastard The Yardbirds had pioneering elements that helped lead to heavier rock and metal. They were popular during their time but also made a lot of challenging songs.

  • way ahead of their time

  • like how page is playing bass

  • @dirtyxmexican I don't think Jimmy Page is in this line up....they went through a few line up changes along the way....I think the guy on bass is Paul Samwell Smith, who was actually one of the founding members and one of the major songwriters.

  • I wish i was in the 60s. i mean tons of artists were born back then: Jimmy Page, Ringo Starr, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Robert Fripp, Chuck Berry, John Entwistle, Pete Townshend, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Keith Richards, Robert Plant!

I could probably go on and on about the artists who have and still do inspire me!

  • They'd be awesome if they fired that crap lead guitarist.

  • @pspiddy Just an FYI. That "crap lead guitarist" you talk about is Jeff Beck...

  • @Theshaker64 LMAO when I read your statement, think many have no idea what an incredible talent he is!

  • @Theshaker64 word

  • @Theshaker64.....I was 8 when this came out and I bought it....Thank-you for the info. about Jeff Beck....

  • @pspiddy IS THAT A JOKE OR WERE U BEING SERIOUS?

  • 23 people don't know music is!!

  • who cares yardbirds are great dig all the music. man they kept me focused on my flying missions during the war.

  • Clapton hate this song!

  • Anyone know the make of Jeff's 12 string guitar?--- Taylor?-----Guild?

  • @GWR7200 I believe it was a Guild. Taylor Guitars didn't come out until the 1970s or 1980s.

  • I'd rather prefer Chilly (1978) and Chocolate Puma feat. Colone (2011) versions than that...

  • @1978TVP And how do you think the Yardbirds would sound (live) with the benefit of modern technology ???

This is of its time, and it's ART. You might as well say someone else could have painted a better Mona Lisa 20 years later. Us who were teenagers at the time bought this music, and were moved by it. Really I couldn't care less what later generations think of it.

  • @grahamw56 I SAW ALL THESE BANDS LIVE! THEY WERE BETTER THEN THE MUSIC OF THESE DAYS!

  • @THETRUEROCKERCHICK I saw a lot of them live too. We have to be fair to the current generation though, and give them the same chance. My boy plays lead guitar in a band. He like the old stuff too, but times and tastes move on....and especially technology. There is a lot of great new music out there. Nothing wrong with cherishing our memories though, as long as we remember that that is what we're doing, and not knock the new.

  • @grahamw56 TRUE! I JUST GOT IN A MOOD WHEN I SAW COMMENTS THAT WERE DISGRACEFULL TO THAT WHOLE 60'S GENERATION! RECENTLY SAW JEFF BECK AGAIN LIVE! HE IS STILL ON TOP OF HIS GAME! I GOT A LITTLE RATTLED SORRY ABOUT THAT! ALWAYS WITH RESPECT & LOVE TONI & LITTLE ROCKER CHICK~:-)))

  • @THETRUEROCKERCHICK I think we're singing from the same sheet. lol.

  • Without Jimmy Page, I've no need for the Yardbirds.

  • Come on guys, there are two guitarists here, though they never show the guy playing the tele's face. Who played a tele in the yardbirds and Led Zeppelin's first two or three albums? Could this be Jimmy Page???? They never show his face.....

  • @doubleplanet9 love this comment

  • @doubleplanet9 i think it's clapton.

  • classic on so many levels, 'screaming girls' or not, we had a blast! thank u

  • I dig this song... but I still hear "TOYOTA!" when I listen to it.

  • Is it true he got electrocuted by his own guitar?

  • @beamerZ Yes. Relf was 33 when he died from electrocution, at his home, while playing his improperly grounded/earthed electric guitar. At the time, he was rehearsing new material for the regrouping of the original Renaissance line-up, called Illusion.

  • lo consideravano rock duro---

  • The great Keith Relf , marvellous !

  • MY YOUTH. Wasn't I lucky?

  • I would have done anything for Keith Relf!!!

  • Id do anything for you, Richard!

  • Paul samwell-smith is on bass!

  • @blueguitarz17 kk jeff beck didn't turn up to a gig so drejja went on bass and page got on lead. For a couple of months page and beck formed a dual lead guitar - like on over under sideways down and happenings ten years time ago. Shame they "fired" beck for missing too many gigs - they could have achieved so much more with page and beck.

  • @BadboyBramley cheers for the info. On Beck, the Yardbirds lost a very versatile guitarist, who when on to be a great diverse guitarist.
