The World Series they are referring to is the 1932 World Series when the Yankees swept the Cubs 4-0. That Series included what was the alledged "called" home run shot by Babe Ruth during the Series. Back then, a Cubs reference in the World Series was a recent occurence. The Cubs were in the World Series in 1932, 1935, 1938, and 1945 losing all four times. Now, a World Series appearance is ancient history to the luvable losers known as the Chicago Cubs. As everyone knows, none since 1945.
