There are no words that can really describe what I think of ths and the Nicholas Brothers. But incredible, superb, awesome, fantastic, unbelievable, totally cool, incomparable, and amazing are just a few! They were a highlight in the two movies Glenn Miller and his band made. Doin the Jumpin Jive wit Cab Calloway is another number that is entertainment at its best. this one is my favorite of all their performances WOW!!!
these kids were child prodigies & just in their teens. by today standards they'd blow the michael jacksons & ushers of the world out of the water in DANCING & entertainment.
@marianance Understand: Michael (a genius and a maverick in his own right) grew up watching and likely knowing at least one of the Nicholas Brothers. MJ was a relentless student of the great movie musicals and was born at a time when he could actually meet some of these great artists. It may not seem like it to the casual observer or to those who assess perhaps his later work, but MJ was for many, the bridge between this us and the likes of the Nicholas Brothers.
@thomasmoredamian I love how Mike respected them and admired them so much (Well he did that with everyone he admired as far as artistry and showmanship etc.)...I think he knew that they were greater than him....Even MJ had ppl who he looked up to...Jackie Wilson, James Brown, and even the great Nicholas Bros.
They where sick. I love to watch them. Just think if people where into this stuff, instead of the no talent cronies today. I wish I was actually there.
@G1SpaceDoll Your're not kidding. Put me in a time capsule back to there an I'm a happy fella. BTW - anyone that thinks the way you do has excellent taste. Nice to see we're not alone in wishing.
The Nicholas Brothers were incomparably fantastic and I love to watch them! In 1972, I saw Harold Nicholas singing "I Can't Get Started (With You)" in a saloon on the Sunset Strip. He wasn't appearing there professionally; he just stopped in as a customer. Much later, I found out that the song was from The Ziegfeld Follies of 1936, which starred Bob Hope and the Nicholas Brothers! In that show, Bob Hope sang the song. Bunny Berigan's recording of it was used on the "Chinatown" soundtrack.
the nicholas brothers are pure class i love watching them dance, they are truly a unique dance trio never to be forgotten, no one comes close to the out of this world acrobatics somersaults, splits, and foot movements these brothers had! i will allways be in awe of what they done and acheived.
~Sigh!~ I can't stop smiling.

It's not just the moves...it's the suave class and seeming effortlessness. Harold and Fayard were American Originals, never to be duplicated.
