  • Regardless of if we need to hear or not, whether you believe it was meant to be or not; by the way, if God intended it to be so, the device wouldn't help at all, hearing your mothers, child's voice is a very tender thing and you may not realize it until it's gone. One must have and lose to realize such a thing to it's greatest point, so stop being so ignorant about the subject. The reaction of the mother and child in this video was beautiful.

  • This was amazing!! I have a deaf niece. She is now 27. She was 4 yrs. old before her parents had her tested & realized she was deaf.

  • Awh, to cute<3

  • This is beyond beautiful!

  • awww what a lovely baby. I myself got implanted at age 6, yes kinda late. Guess what I am 21 years old & still uses cochlear implant. Don't listen to the deaf people, they are so rude and ignorant about the implants. It does not kill anybody & the main problem is that getting implanted at later age is complicated BUT they give up so EASILY & are very lazy to learn & work on their oral language. Its a long process, its not like its a overnight process. Deaf culture is not a culture!

  • @scenexbam if deaf was a way of culture....wheres blue eyes culture? brunettes culture? no leg culture? big nose culture? tit-less culture? small penises culture? third eye culture? tail culture? Plus, deaf culture is a example of nazism culture.

  • This is the best video on Youtube

  • I am so happy for this little boy and his parents. This is so wonderful to watch.

  • so precious :,)

  • how would you not like that video?

  • Yeah it's ridiculous people think "God" had a reason for him to be deaf, what's gods reason to make rapist or killers, they say some people are born that way. I'm so happy for this family and child, I know i wouldn't have the opportunities I have today if I couldn't hear.

  • I bet all the 300+ dislikes are from users who ARE NOT parents.. they wouldn't understand..

And if those are the first words you say to your child, you should be telling him/her how much you love them.. just saying..

  • @subarun3 They would not be the first words to the child. They may have been the first he heard but either way what does it matter what words are spoken? He doesn't speak English. He doesn't speak any language or form memories of the moment. The interaction is all that's important.

  • @subarun3 or all of those dislikes are from the deaf community where it's an insult to give a child a cochlear implant. they're not broken, they don't need to be fixed.

  • @animedemon10 Of course they are not broken. Just defective.

  • @Pasanonic that's still saying they're broken...

  • @subarun3, I am Deaf since birth. I am 60 years old and ASL-Written English user. I personally know 7 humans, who wore cochlear implants, died from it. Unfortunately, doctors denied that they died from it. By the way, I disagree with your statements. ASL is beautiful language. I sign " I love them so much to my kids. They smile back to me. Thanks!

  • @ChatinASL HAHAHAH right...i know people died from heart attacks, or wisdom teeth, plastic surgery. It must be something else that made them died, not the implants, but if it was it must be the doctor's fault, not the implants. Every surgeries has risks. ASL is not a language, but whatever floats your boat. It hurts me to see these deaf people so rude and ignorant towards to people who have hearing devices. So much racism towards us with our hearing devices. Oh by the way I was born deaf too.

  • @subarun3 he's 8 month's old, he doesn't even know what the word love means. Use your common sense .

  • @subarun3 you're pretty fucking dumb

  • He's so cute imagine his big toothy grin when he gets older

  • Ohhh I cant stop watching jonathan!!! This vid is so wonderfull Im melting, so much cuteness!

  • They should disable the comments. This is a beautifull video and its great of them to share. I cant stop seeing his smile. God bless him.

  • WHAT SICK BASTARDS DISLIKED THIS VIDEO!!!!

  • @W3iRDiOXD You're an idiot. The baby is beautiful. I think the mother wasn't prepared for the baby's reaction. I think she had prepared for the worst ... that he would never hear. In today's world everyone needs to hear. It's better if the implants are put in at a very young age.

  • @mydogsuki you're ignorant. we do not all need to hear in today's world.

  • Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • That's amazing

  • That's amazing

  • "Dear God, please protect me from your followers"

  • so... the real question is... WHY ARE THERE 321 DISLIKES???? WHO WOULD DISLIKE THIS?????? AND WHY???????

  • @Dav1dChui Those people probably thought this video isn't something to make a big deal over. If that's the case, it still seems wrong to dislike such an adorable and inspiring video

  • @Dav1dChui Sir i could not agree more who the heck are these 321 people I mean the pure look of shock and joy on that child's face is the kind of thing that gives pessimistic people like myself hope in life and there is nothing remotely offensive on the video so i really don't get why someone would dislike this video in anyway

  • @zman500cool The 321 people who disliked this video may be deaf themselves. There are many deaf people who are against the use of implants. The implants are difficult to use if implanted at an older age. These parents had hearing and did the right thing for the child. Deaf parents most likely would not have the procedure done.

  • Wow, so I teared up.

  • Oh my Bless his soul, look at his smile.

  • awww

  • que hermoso! su sonrisa de contento y todo...en verdad me saco lagrimitas pero de felicidad :)

  • So many negative comments... directed towards religion and COCHLEAR IMPLANTS? All of this is just proof that the world is in a dark and unhappy place. You all have my sincerest sympathies.

  • I'll believe Cochlear implants are bad when a deaf person who tries it, hates it, and tells me its bad. There's not much credibility for the majority of youtubers who are probably not appreciative of their own hearing when they listen to this video.

  • he's so happy. that's the important thing.

  • I don't see why anyone's against the fact that this baby can now hear... If I couldn't hear I would do anything to be able to and I'm sure if someone took away anyone's hearing they would want it back. I don't see why religions got anything to do with this either, why would God not want you to hear? This is why I don't understand religious people...

  • AWWWW! such a C U T E baby ! ! ! : )

  • AMAZING!!!

  • of course if you are old enough you get to make the decision, but as a child you are under your parents custody and in every religion i know of, the child is the parents responsibility, and the parents job is to too whats best for their child, and its best for a child to be able to hear the sound of his mothers voice, a oncoming car during traffic, a warning, or the sound of someone he loves say i love you. Leave religion out of this, god loves the educated, medical procedures are a blessing.

  • @amina6688 Religion has nothing to do with it, Responsibility and guardianship of a child's welfare is a legal responsibility and religion or a lack of it has no bearing upon this.

  • For those arguing that cochlear implants should be a person's choice & not forced by a parent:

    1) Language and speech development happens in very early childhood. Delaying this, delays development if they wish their child to be able to hear!

    2) BILLIONS of people force religion on their children!!! A far worse and damaging process.

    3) I'm going deaf - and it SUCKS! I don't care how you try to argue it. Life without music/real interaction sucks & how many non-deaf people know sign language?

  • How precious. Cutey pie.

  • Sweetest thing I've seen in a while :)

  • That's beautiful.

  • why are people thinking that this implant is bad? I read a couple of these comments and they just don't make sense. You can clearly see that the baby is happy, is this a bad thing?

  • I neither completely support or oppose cochlear implants. I am just curious on how people view the implant and their reasons for their views. One thing I did not think about until reading the comments in this video is the religious standpoint which I find interesting.

  • I believe that whether or not a person gets the cochlear implant should be the decision of the person. I know people who have hated it, have found it helpful and others who have never used them at all and they are happy. For this baby, the decision has already been made for him. If the baby grows up and decides he does not want to use it, which I doubt because most people who are hearing from a young age usually don't

decide they want to stop hearing, then his wish should be respected.

  • There is a big debate on whether or not cochlear implants are good or bad. Opponent argue that "deafness" should not be seen as a disability, it should be seen as a way of being, like "deafhood", with it's own unique culture and language. So, cochlear implants are seen as trying to "fix" something that does not need to fixing. Proponents argue that not having hearing is a problem because it makes it more difficult for the deaf to integrate with the majority of society that is hearing.

  • Lovely! So cute. I am very sorry for the child. All of the deaf will not go army but they refused the deaf. I can not hear and a deaf person. Because my mother was pregnant but she a lot of pills at the pharmacy and then gives birth to baby to get a lot of nerve baby and not hear :-( she generally fault and got cares in child. I hear everything is fine :-) Greetings from RUSSIA.

  • MY TEARS. 320 PEOPLE HAVE NO HEART. HOW CAN ANYONE DISLIKE THIS BEAUTIFUL MOMENT?!

  • @EpicTard1...firstly, I'm not a guy, I possess the body part you so crudely referred to me as. Secondly, what in the hell did I do to deserve to be called a "cunt"!?!?!? Seriously, I see a lot of people crying about being judged by Christians but choose to judge against us.

  • @MusicFanatic954...did my comment say that??? No, it did not. I can not speak for every Christian but I myself know that I am a sinner and I have no right or room to judge.

  • Fuck religion, any god that makes a baby death isn't a god of mine.

  • @PokeymanTrainer Just say a typo, I meant deaf >.<

  • Beautifull!

  • A muslim will say

    God then science FTW

  • the kid is cute O_O

  • wow. this is amazing. science FTW

  • People with religion who oppose this, kindly SMD

  • Lmao, reading all of the religious comments. what idiots. just be happy for the baby, and shut the fuck up.

  • this is beautiful!! <3

  • That is awesome!

  • mash Allah beautiful

  • Mashallah Mashallah very touching, a little angel :)

  • thank God for everything :)

  • @Ch3mG33k ..stupid thing ever written .

  • @Ch3mG33k No, a terrible genetic mutation/ disability is responsible. Poor kid.

    Does it even matter?

  • @SazVlogs It does.

Each time something like this happens, the baby is born, becomes deaf and then is given an implant by a trained group of surgeons. The implant itself was created by a scientist who spent his or her life working to better the lives of others. Instead of the surgeons or the scientist getting praise, people praise their imaginary friends.

Furthermore, claiming that a genetic mutation is "responsible" is absolutely ridiculous. If the baby was born deaf, an implant wouldn't help.

  • @Ch3mG33k No, I mean does it matter that some people think that it was God and some people know that it's scientists who spend their lives working to help these people.

And I already know that it's the scientist, not some magical abusive sky daddy. You don't need to tell me.

  • @Ch3mG33k That's just not true. Cochlear implants are used where the hearing loss is sensorineural (i.e. involving the inner ear) as opposed to conductive (i.e. involving the middle ear). They work absolutely fine in babies born with a sensorineural hearing loss, including those born with sensorineural hearing loss caused by genetic mutations (in general -- there are admittedly some very specific conditions where an implant won't work, e.g. a complete absence of cochleas).

  • @Ch3mG33k (source: I have a baby with a (genetic) hearing loss. She isn't getting an implant because her hearing loss is on one side, but if she had the same loss on the other side as well she would have implants by now (I know other babies with the same genetic condition who are affected on both sides, and they do have implants which do help).

  • this is so touching

his mom was so stong and happy for him,If I was her I'll cry like crazy hehe

I'm tearing now and he isn't my baby *_*

  • Deafcarloline not to be heartless but are you envious this wasn't available for you?

  • I suppose it's too much to ask that we all just get along and be happy for the child who can hear now... right? -_-

  • That is really touching :)

  • Lovely! Brings me back 4 yrs to the day our deaf daughter was first activated, seeing that huge smile come across her face the day as she first heard sound and mapped it to those speaking. Now w/2 CIs, she's happy, healthy, and able to move seamlessly between communicating fluidly, fluently, & effortlessly with Deaf and Hearing people, whether they use ASL or English -- she truly gets such joy out of communicating with others through both sign and spoken language. All the best for your sweetie!

  • congrats to that baby and godbless him!!!

  • ok that comment was really dumb. i highly doubt that the parents had a problem with thier child being deaf i think they just wanted him to hear... whats s bad about tht. would you say that if your child was paralized and there was a surgery where the y could walk again you wouldnt do it??? yea so shut up and keep stupid comments like that to yourself you ignorant idiot.

  • Have you ever seen a deaf baby cry with great suffering and grief because they are deaf? no, it's the parents who have a problem with deafness, not the baby. Think about it.

  • this is amazing! i nearly cried! x

  • God is GREAT!! truly a miracle!

its beautiful to see His kindness in this world! :)

  • This is absolutely one of the most precious things that I have seen in a long time. Haha this makes me cry just watching this and I am a 19 yo boy. WOW this is something that is a gift that you can tell the baby and parents love.

  • This is such a blessing for this family. PTL for doctors helping little ones like this! It's amazing seeing his smile! :)

  • How can people argue on this video? Its awesome :D

  • How amazing!!!! What a sweet little baby.

  • I'm a 18 year old man. I'm not afraid to admit that I shed a tear. Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

  • The Most Precious Things in Life to Enjoy T____T <----- TEARS OF HAPPINESS

  • That is amazing, Brought me to tears :)

  • The baby Jonathon is more important then the religious argument, so everyone stfu!

  • You r all so annoying with ur religious fight.....I love this video I believe god does exist

  • Love this

  • Guy below me is a cunt

  • Not all of us are going to agree...understandable. First of all, no we Christians don't have "proof" that our God exists, however we have faith that He does and that is ALL we need. Secondly, where is it wrong for us to believe? Are we hurting you at all by doing so? Let's just say that for argument's sake that God doesn't exist, what harm does it cause to non-believers for us to believe in His existence. Get over it! Let's revel in the beauty and miracle of this baby hearing for the first time!

  • @luvthespotlight so you're saying that its alright for you christians to say that athiests are immoral and stupid but it's NOT okay for athiests to make fun you?

  • WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE~~~~~ This is ADORABLE! .. then I looked at the comments >A>

  • Just thumbs down the stupid stuff and it will be marked as spam after so many negative votes. And the video will remain beautiful :)

  • STOP WITH THE RELIGIOUS FIGHT WHO EVER THIS. THINK THIS WOULDN'T YOU WANT TO HELP YOUR BABY TO HEAR.

  • @harmony809 if y become blind how do y feeling? y would be scary.. same thing how deaf people feeling when doctor fix us to be hearing then we become very scary and confused turn depression cuz on one hearing could listen us. they just want be happy self not us.. cant you see that? if y do want understand about deafness culture then Listen US and Learn it... not just other hearing's options.. cuz they are not deaf!

  • Please disable comments. :c As a Christian, I'm always ashamed and embarrassed when people use any little thing to justify getting on the soap box. Even worse when you can't understand anything they're saying.

  • Why would ANYONE dislike this? This is so precious and cute and brought tears to my eyes.

  • I can't believe that goddamn religious people are so unrespectful of this miracle, coming here to fester this inspiring moment for mankind!

However, the smile of the baby speaks louder than words!

  • @stms84 The word you're looking for is "disrespectful", and if you look at the comments, there are plenty of religious people who opposed the argument just like you. Have a nice day.

  • Comment removed

  • @2Foxxy4U Thank! You are right, sometimes youtube brings out the worst of me. I often forget to behave. And I forget english too...

  • @stms84 Aw, you're fine. Live and let live, my friend, and go with peace.

  • That always makes me smile when the baby smiles after hearing his mommies voice to a baby that's the most beautifulest sound that they will ever hear:):):):)

  • Lol, way to go guys. You took a beautiful and wonderful video and crapped on it with your religion argument. I happen to be a very religious person but on you tube isnt the place to argue about it.

  • Awww the smile on that baby is so beautiful when he heard his mommy voice. I made me tear :)

And why is this beautiful thing turns into a religion fight, what does it have to do with the baby hearing??

  • Wow thats unbelievable, i would cry if i was that mum

  • That is a beautiful moment.

  • So the video was beyond amazing. I would stay away from the comments at this point. Unless you like reading troll fights(like I do).

  • who the hell started this religion talk!?to be fair, keep your opinions to yourselves and don't post it here or in any video that should not be related to religion.anyway,am gonna share this...

  • I wonder how many of the religious people who are saying the baby shouldn't be able to hear because of the use of science would be alive today if birthed in a barn and laid in a manger.

  • I love when his pacifier just falls out of his mouth! It's so cute! It's a miracle through science, technology and the genious of people.

  • This is a beautiful video. Seeing the baby's reaction to his mothers voice put a smile on my face for the first time today. Here's my question: How the fuck did religion get involved? I don't care what you believe in. Just watch the god damn video.

  • This was a great video... and then it was ruined by the fight about religion.

  • this video is beautiful :)

  • This video made me really happy =) until i saw the religion crap. I have nothing against people who have a religious belief system I dont think that it should be used in a situation like this I honestly would like to ask the people who think that this child does not deserve to hear simply because they used science to do it? This' a video of an 8 month old child hearing his mothers voice for the first time and if that's not a beautiful thing I dont know what is

  • hey guys. who cares about religion . im a catholic but i have my doubts about religion. this is an amazing video about someone regaining their hearing when they r to young to have done a crime. u people decide to have religion fite on this for no reason. this kid is living proof of the science and tech we have. god may have helped this progression of science. we r human and we rn't suppose to no everything, not yet. so we cant prove theres a god or not but just live life

  • .-.

  • This is a wonderful moment.

  • Like someone said before:

    God made him deaf.

    Science cured him.

  • @augustrunsred A CI is not a cure. Sound through a CI does not sound the same as sound through a hearing ear.

  • @purplewowies I'd prefer sound through a CI than no sound at all.

  • 3 words: Haters gonna hate

...Man, it's incredible, an great conquist for the human being.

  • anyone who dislikes, has no soul!

  • How on earth are people arguing on here about religion?

This is a beautiful moment in not only his life but his mother's life. Learn to appreciate it. If something makes someone happy, I have to think that God will accept it and not send someone to hell over it. So calm down.

  • Really? Some people arguing over religion and science? I believe in God, and im Catholic but this will NEVER settle down as a topic. So what, let a person believe in what they want. Simple as that. Everyone is entitled in their opinions. Please SHUT UP and GROW UP and just watch this beautiful video.

  • It's so amazing how far we've come in medical technology. Call it a miracle, or call it science. Either way, this is beautiful.

  • such a beautiful moment. thank you for sharing it with us in YT land

  • Thank you, Pasanonic. Usually the original poster of a video is retarded, but you're actually reasonable.

  • this is so beautiful why are ppl arugin about religion on here.. they did what they thought was best for there baby. God gave us brains so we could use them to help ppl have better lives.. if a child is sick you give them medicine right?? you dont say well god wanted them to be sick and leave them alone { i hope not} this is the same thing!!!! if you have such a prob with what you seeing stop watching it...

  • @SweetnLulz lol how did he give us brains but no knowledge? damn you religious folk are no smarter than a donkey.

  • @foreignsoda Do not feed the troll. Thank you.

  • @SweetnLulz Okay, but Adam and Eve only gained self-awareness, knowledge, and the power to know right and wrong after eating from the tree. So how can God punish them for doing it if they didn't know right from wrong to begin with? Isn't that a BIT of an oversight on the Almighty's part?

  • Great video, but as is always the case.. must learn to avoid reading comments.

  • most beautiful thing I've ever witnessed :o

.... I go to a Catholic School, I can guarantee every single student/staff would be touched by this video .... don't listen to stupid trolls

  • i know i have bad grammar, but try to understand what im saying

  • ...because religion creates crusaders and brotherhoods, and people who believe there doing the right thing, and because of this it gives them the right to pretty much disreguard any other human who s not doing the "right" thing.

  • Its funny because ths world has so many dfferent religions, yet most believe in god..yet there is just different customs and rituals for said religion, Has it ever occured to people that maybe a beleif in a higher power is was our creator intended, but "religion" itself is jus a human creation..I think religion should e thrown out the window, cause you cant deny that at this point in time, religion is causing more negativity then positivity rite now

  • Are people actually arguing with a "religious" person with the tag name katiesucksballs? I don't think Jesus likes that name... just sayin..

  • Such an amazing single moment in time captured on tape! Everyone can have opinions about it but these parents made a tough choice they obviously thought was best. In a world where mothers kill their babies and bury them in the woods, these parents love this boy and thats beautiful to see!

  • I cry for very beautiful boy, Mother made a baby boy, Mother put wires into his head, He will become limited himself when he getting older. God wanted him deaf for excellion reason, Possible God;s gifts boy for special growing see what he got something, I am sorry.

  • This video is adorable...how it turned into a religious battle is beyond me.

  • @katiesucksballs You seem offended at the idea that we may have evolved from apes, yet you seem happy with the idea of being descended from Adam and Eve, who came from dirt...

  • Can you please disable comments? It's far too depressing to see after watching an amazing video like this.

  • wow and another sweet touching video ruined by internet youtube religion arguing trolls...*sigh* still an amazingly cute video, love when the baby drops the pacifier in shock :)

  • Awww! So Sweet!

  • @pasanonic Whoot Whoot thank you for making the world a smarter place

  • So beautiful!

  • ...

how did i get here from world champion in masturbation o__o

  • Amazing :)

  • hes a beautiful baby boy.

  • This is absolutely adorable.

  • I was gonna share this, but then I saw the ugly religion fight...

  • @yellowcanarystudios Share it. let the fools argue over their superstition. It won't change the outcome.

  • @Pasanonic Well, It's also my superstition, but I know that arguing over it won't change beliefs, and in fact does the opposite. I'm not gonna lie though, katiesucksblls is not giving us Christians a good name... I'm sorry you have to deal with him on your video.

  • @Pasanonic Um, yeah because God created Adam and Eve first who then had children and you know how the rest goes. More people were having kids and some of those people turned into apostles who wrote the bible. They told the story of what happened here on Earth before he was crucified and died for all of us. Believe what you want, I'm just stating my opinion. Wow.
