An Air Craft Carrier would be a good investment for Australia, it only has to be a light STOVL Carrier similar to the Invincible Class or the Spanish/Italian Carriers.
Yes, we could have bought invincable and sea harriers, plus, i heard they were thinking of buying 50 f 4 phantoms as well as the f 111's, if that happend, imagine how powerfull we would be today.
Yeah imagine the cost too, what would Australia do with 50 F4-s? Lot of money for a bunch of planes that'd just be sat on the tarmac their entire lives.
yeah real powerful...... 50 56 year old planes and f-111 is 46 years old and harrier is 45 years old, they are out dated, also our armmy navy and airforce is fine, we can hold our own as it stands... and we can build aircraft carriers and submarines, at perth, we have the largest ship construction yard in the southern hemisphere...... how would i know, I am in the ADF!!!
@Blandy086 I don't disagree with you reagrding the old aircraft/choppers etc. but can we really hold our own? I live down the road from Swanbourne & as good as the SAS may be, Australia is a big island with a lot of resources & a small populace. Australia needs a bigger fleet of warships, we produce them at Frem for the US, limited for Aus, subs r becoming obselete as r the austeyers - we can't even get enough crew 2 man our subs atm. Am I wrong?
@hirolahmanagement Australia lives in a tough neighborhood too. China is creating a very big navy and will soon have two CV types with modern aircraft. Just like England the primary service should be, and in the navy.

Why australia know doesn't have carrier wheather is a big country with to much many increase and for need land protection?. i hope we can have almost 4 aircraft , no more, its just for the protection of the countryland.
