I call for a Redux of this review. But this time for the love of Peter. PEEL THE PROTECTIVE PLASTIC SHEET OFF THE UNIT. I was just cringing at it while looking at it. I think that protective plastic sheet was the cause of your problems XD.
Im a bit confused on the "Auto" part. The idea is to maintain a set temp right? For example CPU fan1. Lets say I call 55c nominal temp. When temps get above 55c will the controller automatically ramp up fan rpm until temps drop or max speed is reached? AND when temps get below 55c will it rev down the fans until minimum rpm is reach or temps start to climb????
@Trubyd44 great video, but i think your being a little too hard on the product on that viewing angel, if it would of been unable to see from the left and right sides you'd have a point but all in all the LCD screen looks ok to me again thanks for the review i saw this fan controler on amazon and thought it looked cool
thanks for the review. did you manage to get the temperature sensors unplugged? i am thinking of getting this but i will deffo need to unplug the CPU sensor cable from the unit!. cheers
Great job with the review man!! Realy nice! espacialy with full hd ofcourse! I'm about to purchage a V12XT and i think its a pretty good fan controller as you showed in the review! they lcd screen isn't a problem for me because my pc is just under eye level.
hie, i need to know... i got fan 200mm which is using molex connector, what if i get those converter, molex to 3 pin n plug to this V12XT Fan Controller....
will it work ??? can i still be able to adjust the rpm as well ??
Extraordinary review dude. Thanks. I was worried cause I thought my V12XT was broken. The lame angle of vision when watched from below is unacceptable. I hope aerocool will fix this someday. Anyway is evern nowadays one of the coolest frontal panels with LCD screen. Is huge and looks outstanding. I recommended it but only if look your pc from above or by the sides. The cool factor is important and if you plan to build an spectacular PC the V12XT offers good looking, taste and simplicity.
Hi I came across, your video, and was wondering if you could help me. I recently bought one of these and hooked everything up, when I try to adjust the fan speed, it won't work, I mean it lights up, it beeps when you touch it, it shows everything connected, but it just won't seem to adjust my fan speed, any suggestions if you don't mind, I would really appreciate your help, thank you
Good video, I ordered one like this yesterday. I'm kinda disappointed with the whole lcd angle thing. I guess I'll check it out in person and see if its something I can tolerate or if its going back to Tiger Direct. Thanks for the review though.
@michael1980123 Good point...I can't believe noone else has told me that, I didn't think you were correct when I read your post, but indeed it is still on there. HAHA.
the only thing i hate about this controller is the multi-colored rainbow colourd LCD screen...i prefer 1 color-blue, to go wiv the rest of my case...like NZXT sentry fan controller
ive got this controler and i wish i didnt iff your using it in a bright lighted area forget it the screen fades with the coloures as iff the colours just fade duller i thought it was my psu so i tryd it with another and its still the same so i put my nxzt older model in and ran 2 off them to see iff the readings wer the same ! GUESS WHAT they wer both different the onlder model was nearer to exact temps and fanspeed as the newer 1 was way off
@0pTicaL823 Although I've bought Lamptron fan controllers in the past, but they are not machined perfectly...there was one I had to send back because it wouldn't fit in my 5.25 bay! The FC-5 does look nice though.
@ykrahs666 Why? It doesn't matter for the viewing angle...and it doesn't matter for the operation, I didn't want to get my grubby fingerprints on someone else's controller. :)
nice review..your are right I havent seen any REAL reviews like yours for this fan controller. I THINK im getting this over the NZXT sentry LX... any inputs?thanks
@coolermaster I like this better then the NZXT Sentry for sure, but please be aware the viewing angle on this sucks. In fact, certain angles almost look like the display isn't even turned on!?! It operates nice though, but I don't like the beeps. I guess there is good and bad with everything.
@coolermaster Yeah, stuff like that is very personal to people. One item can be awesome to one person while to another it isn't liked at all. The good thing is that the fan controllers aren't that expensive and most can be returned if you don't like them. I would go with the Sentry first...test it, then go with the Aerocool if you don't like the Sentry.
@busstour No it's not. I have taken the protector off and it still is a crap screen if you look up at it. If you look down at it, the screen is awesome.
what annoys me is that you get a lot of cables when you split those temp sensors something which doesn't help cable management and also that beeping all the time. Great review your points are very right for a first look!
Theres 3 things i like in life . GIRLS ,CARS and COMPUTERS and this has a car speedometer feel to it . I think it will go great with my computer . Thanks for the great review .
About the fan taking a while to slow down, think of this. With good fans with good bearings, they take a long time to slow down when they power down. The controller probably sets the proper voltage/whatever for 800 rpm or whatever you set it to, but it takes a while for the fan to actually reach that speed, and the reading on the controller is telling you its current rpms.
@trubyd44 if i had a mountain mods case (i wish) and one of the panels was a tiple quad (12 120mm fans ) and i had one of the mountain mods power station where all the fans were pluged where do i plug the power station to contol the fans?? and if i had could cathods pluged to the molex conector of the station if i incresed the fan speed would it increse the light intensity ?? i dont bother to control the fans independently a general speed control would be perfect
my fans only run 800rpm max!?!?!? I HAVE THE SHITTY SENTRY LX btw

SENTRY 2 MAKE FANS NOISY!!!
The sentry 2 has a problem. The fans are connected to that produce a
annoying noise. The unit has a serious manufacturing problem.
I would not buy.
