If not the very best! I cannot get enough of this movie. I recently saw it in on a Blu Ray player and saw detail that was not present before. I'm one American (along with most of us) that is very proud of the RAF .
@radzai Yeah, dude...this movie sure doubtlessly is one of the VERY BEST....but me as I am the one who is VERY interestet in military aircraft and who who can recognise a lot of airplanes out of my sllep I MUST say that I am dissapointed that the GERMAN planes aren´t original- ALTHOUGH the alied powers in fact didn´t destroy ALL OF ´em ( but this is just some shop talk of mine ;-) )
And in China the American Volunteers also went. The Flying Tigers. In the Battle of Britain they were 'The Eagle Squadron'. And yes Britain needed 'experienced' pilots. We got them from:- Poland Czechoslovakia Canada New Zealand Australia Belgium South Africa France Eire And many others. All fighting for the same cause. DEMOCRACY. God bless them all, every one of them.
@smith3451 Yes indeed you are right, about sums it up. I think General DeGaulle was indeed ''Gauled''... oh well never mind. The French and their German pals are doing fine now. (?)... well lets wait and see...hehe
i would see this before the one being made in America because this ones not made up.the new film has the RAF on there knees so we put an advert in a paper for pilots in American and squadren of them win the Battle of Britain
no kidding Variety magazine says of the film to be called the "THE FEW"
it will be based on the life of William Meade Lindsley Fiske III, The basis for the new film is that the British were on their knees and desperate for help in their fight for aerial superiority with the Luftwaffe. There were, apparently, aeroplanes sitting in hangars and a shortage of pilots. A few brave Americans answered the call - risking jail in the then neutral US - and saved the day.
They might as well have called in The magnificent Seven as that's how many US aircrew were actually involved. Seven. Thanks Americans, you really saved the day unlike the 145 Poles, 127 Kiwis,112 Canadians, 88 Czechs, 28 Belgians - Yep the Belgians made four times the contribution of the Yanks
@Stussy88776655 the yanks werent at war with germany at the time so the seven guys didnt have to be there, I think the RAF were glad of them all the same, and without the yank merchant seaman as well as our own bringing supplies we would have been in trouble.
Excellently pieced together, and with the best ending scene you could use too!

Value the movie. Given the scarcity of the planes, I don't think a live-action film like this could ever be made again.

Lovely work, and that magnificent music--only missing the luminously beautiful Susannah York.
