we originated from these people don't forget. The only reason we are alive is cause our ancestors lived long enough to give birth to us... not one of our great great great great etc grandfathers would of died up a chimney if they were a sweep.
That's called Survival Of the Fittest! We are the result of our lineage even surviving the black plague. Think about that.
That principle would work if everyone was out hunting for food and no class systems limiting the strong and intelligent. But there were probably some children who died in chimneys that would have surpassed all the noble children had they been given even half the opportunity the upper-class had.
Though the plague does seem to fit your Darwinism, I'll admit to that.
@MrDatoMike To be honest i don't know everything about anarchy but the name says a lot and can often be confused with chaos. I personally can't see how we can live without some sort of goverment.
@LittleMissSweetieKat i wouldn't mind living in the georgian age - only if i was wealthy. REALLY wealthy. the shit the poor had to do, like hanging out in a steaming bath all day every day helping and cleaning sick people or being a scavenger boy, i couldn't stomach it.
I think what's worse about the desperate conditions people lived in is knowing that the prospect of ever getting out of it were extremely slim, that you would just die that way.
AND I THOUGHT I HAD THE WORST JOB IN THE WORLD. INSPIRATIONAL TO WATCH THIS, TRULY SPEAKING. AFTER WATCHING THIS I FEEL LIKE I HAVE THE BEST JOB IN THE WORLD.
You shouldn't hate all rich people for the deeds of what SOME rich people did. I agree, it was completely wrong and horrible for them to do things like that, but not all rich people are terrible.
The hopelessness of life for some of the people back then is just so sad. I mean, the Victorian age was wonderful for many reasons, but it was an awful time for the poor.
i totally agree. i live in a two up two down terrace in Manchester, it feels crowded with my family of three at times but i couldnt even imagine having to share with three or four large families with no running water and lack of food :(

@LittleMissSweetieKat totally... the last emperor of russia's son, alexei, was a haemopheliac, and they couldn't even do much for him.
but even the royals only showered once a month back then because they were suspicious that spending so much time in water made you ill =.=
