  • alternative ending:

    Jack: "yay we killed ralph!!"

Member: "But Jack what are we going to do about the forest being on fire now??"

    Jack: ".....oh yeah....uhhh"

  • Said in the book*

  • Not too bad. The characters were portrayed pretty well. However, don't watch this instead of the book. I read the book in class and this version of the movie is really off. The boys are suppose to be British, there is no burning tree at the beginning, there is no adult whatsoever, and the monster is suppose to be a dead parachutist. If you're good to watch the movie, watch the 1963 version, yes, it's old, but more of the elements from the book are there, and the characters sometimes actually sa

  • Thy need to put Jack up in the nuthouse.

  • lol, didn't see that comin...

  • ...probably cuz i didn't read the book.

    DOUBLE LOL =D

  • fyi anyone who is thinking about not reading the book and watching this instead, dont. its a huge mistake. and for all the BS interpretations that people leave in the comments, go do some research before you enlighten us with your infinite wisdom on post war british literature and william goldings intentions. once you realize that is a type of defense of british colonialism while intended to be a portrayal of the darkness of man's heart with simon as a christ-figure, come talk to me.

  • the only thing good was the actors. they were pretty good except they should have had british accents but thats not their fault

  • honestly i would love to meet the guy that said, "hey, i should make a movie out of one of the greatest post war british novels and change every important thing to make it better, except it will be terrible." The kids are supposed to be british, there is no captain, the monster is a dead paratrooper, sam and eric are forced to join the other tribe, and just about every other important detail is changed to diminish the character build up and destroy the symbolism of th entire story. GOOD JOB

  • Ralph kept it real and original...

  • this is a seriously pathetic adaptation of the book. this movie tells a story that is almost completely different to william gouldings book. the basics aren't even there. like the fact they're british, how jack resented ralph ever since he was voted cheif or even the most important scene where simon starts believing the pig is talking to them and realises that the beast is really in them. not a physical thing. this is a teriible movie. read the book.

  • this movie was absolutely superb the kids were all good actors you get the theme of the book even though this movie was a little off the book its still amazing

  • @colorfullchloe same here xD

  • this part gets me everytime, what a great film adaptation

  • the lurking horror of mankind in which is only desire is to kill kill kill

  • Thanks for putting the film on youtube, really helped :)

  • i think jacks parent are gonna send him to a mental hospital

  • In the book they were all british...

  • The book and the 1963 movie was better than this.

in those versions sailors came, here, soldiers came.

  • on the plane Jack: Ay remember when we tried to kill you

    ralph gives death stare

    jack: oh too early

  • Busted!

  • what'chu guys doin'?

  • Kinda stupid! Piggy and Simon die before they get rescued ;(

  • I whould have left jack there

  • @knifeman127 or should just take ralph home..the rest belongs in the jungle

  • lol i woulda been like....dey killed all ma friends , u bitches are goin to juvenile for a looooooong time

  • Imagine how Piggy and Simons parents would have felt.. Thinking their children were rescued only to find out that they were killed by those sick barbarians!

But this movie is so powerful. Ralph breaking down at the end is just so emotional!

  • @celebs2stars in the story piggy's parents were dead so he was raised by his aunt and uncle, but i would be devastated if i was the parents of simon or the grandparents of piggy and being told that they were dead

  • why 1963?

  • yeah land a helicopter like that? buulllsshhiiittt!

  • "What were you guys doing?" easiest line ever ... also, i thought there was supposed to be ship. Well, this is just similar to the book, that's it

  • Watch the 1963 version..seriously

  • i watched this because i thought there would have been a part after the movie finished where those idiots were punished

  • Psychopathic Boys running with sharpened sticks at a Platoon of Heavily Geared up Marines... never thought I would see it.

  • is it me or does he kinda look like peyton manning sorta

  • i should have just finished the book instead of watching this crap -_- watching this is a waste of my time, not worth it at all -_-

  • The ending.... Was akward.... I mean, marines landing on a beach on a random deserted island... why?

anyways, if i was the marine, i would of shot those barbarians

  • @KanaCanaful um they had gone missing remember??? so it's likely they were being searched for, for one...and two, from the huge fires burning it would be a natural draw to planes in the sky or boats cruising by. so Mister if i was the Marine...you should shoot yourself for being a AWKWARD DUMBASS!

  • @blkattk2 using abusive language will not help you win an argument, everyone has there own opinion. if i was the marine, i would of shot them, but you in the other hand would do things differently.

respect the opinion of others, thank you :)

  • Seriously humanity. What are you guys doing?

  • At first we were like: KILLKILLKILLKILLKILL

But then: Oh shit the adults are here we're screwed

  • If I was one of those marines I would of gunned them all down except the twins and Ralph

  • I honestly dont like this ending, i seems too unsatisfying to me. You don't get to see any justice. They could have done more kills on other guys, and less exploring or hunting. But it was rather good anyway. my opinion.

  • Don't depend on anybody, just be your own person. People will let you down and betray you, that's a given, but if all you have to be loyal to and depend on is yourself, you can only blame yourself for failure, or yourself for perseverance. That rules out all the hierarchy and blame. Make your own mind and your own world. Forget anything that doesn't come from your own sense to survive.

  • The Marines should have opened fired on the little shits.

  • @bertmustin except for Ralph and the twins...

  • imagine if Ralph ran into Jack when the all got home.

  • @TheMrsamuelson "hey mom this is the guy i was telling you about, you know that tried to kill me"

  • Wait...wait...wait....who was keeping track of their days on the island?

  • @Dannysshow2011 i would disagree because everybody els was from different schools so why would they put them there? and there was a war in britan correct me if im wrong but they where evacuating and then got shot down as piggy said when he saw the wing of the plane on fire

  • What are you guys doin'?

  • kill the leaders imprison the rest!!

bloodlust cannot be cured by baby liberalish measures!

    great movie!

  • @bluegrassreb1

That statement epitomizes the essence of this movie. By giving in to primitive instincts we become as barbaric as Jack's tribe. We're not cavemen; the day has come where logic and reason triumph savagery.

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."

  • @MrEthereality so lets let the kilers off the hook?

  • @bluegrassreb1

No way, but remember back in Part 4:

"What are what we gonna do with thieves when we catch them?"

The hunters responded with "Kick their ass!" and "Shove their dick in the conch!" and we've seen what that mentality turn into.

Whereas Ralph, the voice of reason, responded with the civilized option of disciplining them by demerits. Punish them by not giving them food for a couple days or no shelter for a week. Punishing violence with violence only escalates the problem.

  • @MrEthereality You fail at understanding the point of the entire book. Left to ourselves, we are barbaric. Hitler had great logic and reason, but guess what, he murdered millions. Education just makes a more clever of a devil.

  • @gloinstrong

Sure, but Hitler is the exception, not the rule. Of course one needs to have some empathy. If that were the point of the book then Golding wouldn't have included Ralph and Piggy, who clearly exemplify morality and civility.

Furthermore I don't understand what you mean by "Left to ourselves, we are barbaric." When are we not by ourselves? The boys in this movie clearly had enough people to form a civilized society; after all this isn't Cast Away. Help me understand.

  • @DII117 The marines

  • The Few, the Proud

  • what are you guys doing? lol

  • At least this part is somewhat close to the book. :)

  • -not a good ending, this would of been better if the island was actually just of the coast of Mexico and since they where in military school that should of been a test of survival and the pilot was really dead, and if the kids fail the test they would have been stuck there forever!

  • They should've had another ending. The soldiers rescued the kids and flew them home. Ralph tells a long story, then tells everyone the Jack, Roger, and the others we're responsible for the deaths of Piggy, Simon, and the pilot, and Jack & Roger we're sent to prison.

  • @kingsnake23 I agree

  • that is not the original final song!

  • I can't help but relate this to the nature of countries and their plundering lesser countries exploiting them ,and also how political leaders gain power ,their is so much here to say and account for us as members of countries that like gangs take advantage of others and kill the voices of reason that rarely in a group of individuals is heard in the wake of fear and the utter stupidity of those who can't and won't think for themselves ,trading off like animals the sense of security for their fre

  • Must have been one awkward helicopter ride home

  • haha I wonder what their parents will think of them xD

  • thumbs up if you would like to see a extra where they get home and they are sent to juvinalle hall

  • @RagingLife i doubt the boys would be sent to juvinale hall. and more likely counselors and such.

  • @RagingLife well yeah most of them counsllers but the leader and the one that killed piggy with the rock juvinale hall for sure

  • god bless you chris furrh for your performance in this movie o.0<3

  • It's a nice movie, but someone tell me:

How can this be in World War 2, 1935?

I'm pretty sure that helicopter at the end was a Huey. And the soldiers were holding M16-rifles...

  • @chestburster95 its not... this one actually takes place in 1990

  • @stickystick105 No, this version of the movie was filmed 1990, but that does not mean it also plays in that time-period.

  • @chestburster95 i know thats what i meant it does play in that time period. this one has a whole different background story then the 1963 one

  • @chestburster95 It's the cold war!

  • @Raiden4019 Ha! Nothing with WW2, I knew it! It was impossible!

  • Jack and the rest of those killers are goin to jail

  • I know I'm a big baby lol but I actually wanted to cry at the end of the movie! But I couldn't though cause I was in class! It was when Ralph began to cry and then it showed Jack and all the hunters looking tearful as well as they realize what they have done!! I suddenly felt all emotional

  • @CrazyInLove16xx

yeah me too... when I saw the movie for the first time I was in class too x)

I love the way jack looks in the end when he realizes what he did...

He looks really emotional :)<3 I think chris deserves an award!!!

  • @sannef100 he does!!! he had some real talent! ...and looks xD

  • that was the worst ending I have ever seen!! no closure!! holycrap, that was one of the worst movies I have seen, these kids are too young to be cussin like that and playing such crazy roles! this was too unrealistic!!!

  • Must have been one hell of an awkward ride home...

  • "what are you doin?"

nothing there just trying to set the island on fire and gonna kill a third person. Really what kind of question is that. . .

    once again book - 1 ,movie - 0

  • 0:31 LOL! Jack's like, "Oh Shit....I'm gonna get now!"

  • horrible ending..

  • They should've showed the part where Jack never left the island

  • "What are you guys doin?" BEST LINE EVER!!!!!!!!

  • poor ralph...but now its jack's time to cry like a bitch....

Thanks for the upload though, I loved the book. And I remember watching this back in highschool.

  • i aint really a big fan of movies made from books. they leave a lot of details out. :/ not much help for my essay ima do on the book.. hahaha

  • @luvlycherry69 just read it, it's short and fast man

  • That awkward moment when your barbaric man hunt is interrupted by salvation...

  • @FluffyBearDarling Absolutely. Of his many statements, Einstein was the most right about one: only 2 things are infinite, the universe and the human stupidity. And of both, I'm not convinced that the first one exists.

  • Turns out they weren't americans, but soviet marines instead.

  • deep shit.

  • And then the plane Jacks squad went on crashed and held no survivors but the pilot.

And everyone lived happily ever after.

  • Or you could see it as the military guy representing the maturity of civilized man and the kids represent the early childlike phase of man, and I would agree.

  • @Leviticus192728 seeing as grown men still inflict war upon each other, I don't think the "civilized" man is more mature. but it does seem as if that's what the movie is trying to show.

  • It's about the Spanish conquest of what is now the Americas. The military guy represents the spanish and the kids are the mayans, Aztecs, etc.

  • I swear if I was Ralph I would have stolen the marine's gun and just shot the shit out of Jack! D:<

  • @eibonboi Impossible Marines never allow another to take their weapon, Ooorah and Semper Fi!!!!

  • one of the most disturbing movies i ever seen . i dnt kno about everyone else but for me it was deffinetly hard to take in ..

  • Would be so much better if we could have seen what happend to the boys when they came home.

  • One of the things I like about the book and the 1963 version of the film is that the face/body paint is much more elaborate; here, it's reduced to just messy streaks of red and black. The paint is so important in the book and here it seems more of an afterthought.

  • @blacknwhite543 You clearly don't know anything about the bases of society, if natural selection worked with humans, we would'nt have the cities and technology we do nowdays. What makes us humans such a great species is that not the strongest ones survive, smart ones do as well, wich leads to progress. The real reason why society is fucked up is because some believe they're better than others

  • I'm sure they were punished don't worry about it. :o

  • the whole point of the story is this is what happens when you take rules away from order all that's left is chaos

  • ON THE WHOLE MOVIE THEY DID NOT SHOWED THE GODDAM PILOT THAT GOT STUCK IN A TREE WITH ITS PARACHUTE OPEN.

  • PIGGY IS 33 YEARS OLD, PRESENT TIME, THUMBS UP IF YOU WOULD HAD WANTED THAT IN THE MOVIE TOO

  • @blacknwhite543 You sound like a barbaric savage...

  • @blacknwhite543

    jack was a jackass.

  • @blacknwhite543 were you the fat kid everyone picked on in school? Feeling pretty tough behind that keyboard huh?

  • @Aleksei5055 irony

  • So let me get this straight. Red headed Jack is now blond. They're all american. Samneric leave Ralph of their own accord. There was no choir. The pilot survived the crash. They landed in the ocean. How many more things can they screw up when making a movie? No wonder they didn't let us watch the movie instead of reading the book for school.

  • @bobilly999 It's called an "adaptation"

  • This movie was really disappointing, it is NOTHING like the book. The whole point of the book was proper English school boys slowly turn into savages, not American boys cursing at each other every 5 seconds. The only thing I really think this movie stuck true to was the characters.

  • I just dont understand why those kids decided to run around like retards killing people.

  • haha he was probaly like wtf are these little kids doing running around with spears

  • @specklesong Got to watch the 1963 version to have it be true to the book

  • Darn. I wish ralph and piggy and simon lived. and i also wish ralph would have socked jack in the mouth.

  • US MARINE: what are you doing

    Ralph: Playing Rambo

  • jack and roger are annoying. The black kid is annoying.

  • the ending is suck... why don't they just killed Jack instead of Piggy..

  • thts the ending?! :OO i regret watching this movie. seeing Ralph cry is sad! ):

  • what has me wondering is how long were they on the island? how quickly did they resort to these primitive states of mind?

  • I wish Simon and Piggy could of been there.

  • Simons Parts in the Book Are Freakin Awesome and plays a huge Role in the book! Lol.. But He dies all early in the Movie?! ... I was starting to wonder if I was watching the right movie after his death scene x)

  • Actually no one should be punished the kids let there natural animal instincts take control and they pretty much became savages sure Roger killed Piggy but he was crazy at the time like I said they shouldn't really be punished because they were technically wild animals at that moment,,,

  • there should of been a firing squad that executed jack and roger

  • When simon died I was ok but when they killed piggy it shocked me. Although I do like roger. Idk he just seemed complex, granted he's a sadist...

  • This movie isn't about crime and punishment, it's about our basest human instincts and what we would degenerate into if we didn't have the trappings of " civilization " holding us back. This was the way the world was (50,000 years ago, before our great cities, technology, philosophy and reason).

  • Ralph needs to tell the marines that his buddys there are a bunch of fucking savages -.- and that they killed the pilot, simon and piggy damn why must the good die young?

  • wtf?!?! the officer didn't even spoke a thing like saying wat happen?! and all his face was just shocked and priceless. Fuckin hate Jack. wish they were stuck on the island forever. Ralph can go home

  • WHAT THE F, a HELICOPTER DIDN'T COME IN THE BOOK LOL.

  • Jack and his fucking group should get their punishment......what the hell is it Simon is the the one who should be survived and Jack needs to go the hell.

  • good movie good moviethanx for posting !

  • that jack's a bast*rd! Am I the only one who cried when simon died? (and,is i just me, or is ralph slightly hot? bit innapropriate for such a sad film, but, ya no..

  • @vanillatwilight3680 nono, Jack is a bastard, I cried when Simon died and Ralph is hot. I don't think it's very inappropriate. :D

  • @MsExplosiveSocks goodgood. i thought i was goin a bit crazy. my mum told me i was bonkers. but that's parents for you. :)

  • @vanillatwilight3680 Ralph is BLOODY hot! ><

  • @vanillatwilight3680 Ralph is bloody hot!! My mum is in love with him too. Haha. And ya can't help it if your focused on how hot a boy is :)

  • @beatlesdivadomi all the girls who wanted to find out names (to find pics on the web-sheesh!) only wanted jack's name! it's so weird, as ralph's the hottie. shame he's 30 odd now.. -sigh-

  • @vanillatwilight3680 Baltazar Ghetty IS so bloody cute! He's 36 now :( I feel your pain haha

  • @vanillatwilight3680 thank you! now i no i'm not alone. man, life's unfair!

  • Thumbs up if you wished that those dam Marines would have come just one day earlier, so they could have saved Piggy!

  • @E07WORLD and Simon D:

    but I totally agree :)

  • @E07WORLD

    And Simon !

  • @E07WORLD how bout thumbs up if you wish they had shot jack in the kneecap.

  • @E07WORLD Right, but I guess they even only came there because of that fire...

  • Thats real good. What are you guys doning? Oh not much there just trying to brutally murder me how are you?

  • @thegreatmuffinkings They are ALL to blame because like Ralph said, they could've stood up to Jack and didn't even though they knew what they were doing! But because they were no adults or police, they succumbed to savagery. I'm sure all the little bastards except Ralph went to juvie for a long ass time though!

  • whats the music claled during the end credits?? plz tel me

  • @Smallvillenerd

I think it´s the movie score

  • @thegreatmuffinkings And then they killed Simon but kne wit was him but they're basic animal instinct inside took over and they kilel dihm, they reverted to primitives and the lust for blood

  • it's that one hunter from Jurassic Park lol.

  • @cheddarshow yes that is the hunter from Jurassic Park lol and REVENGE FOR PIGGY!!

  • @rangerjavi did you ever read the book Jurassic PArk? It is better than the movie and you will be surprised to learn who survives and who dies in the book. And who was "Suppose" to die in the book.

  • @codename617 I never got to finish the book but from what I read way back then yeah its much better and the movie cut out a shit load of great parts, and from what I can remember the hunter guy lives in the book.

  • @rangerjavi yeah and most of the stuff taken out ended up in The Lost World movie and Jurassic Park 3. BUt you should finish the book. THere are so amny reasons as to why it is my most faorite book. Of anfter reading it for the first time, First Blood is also a read i strogly reconmend. Rambo in the book is much different from RAmbo from the movie. More deadly.

  • wow haha
