What i've noticed is that the church in countries like the USA aren't very tolerant to different religions and believes ... In Portugal for example its totally the opposite, the church is very open and tolerant. To us being catholic is to love everyone and respect everyone. Seeing the Dalai Lama in Fatima is pure joy, since it shows how can all of us live together in peace respecting each others religions and believes. This video in the other hand defend religious segregation.

@tacv - Quite the contrary, our constitutional right to religious freedom makes us tolerant of all religious beliefs. However, just because I tolerate another persons religious rights doesn't mean I feel their beliefs are correct.

The fundamental gospel truth of the Bible is clear. There is only mediator between God and man, Christ Jesus, God the Son. Mary was a faithful, humble servant of God, but she was not divine. I'm sure Mary would consider the idolatry at Fatima to be blasphemy.

@srobertw First of all what happens in Fatima is not idolatry. People pray to Mary as a saint, asking her intervention next to God to help our world. Paying respect and showing love to the mother of Jesus is not sin nor idolatry, it's simply love and what is God if not love. People coming together in a place to pray to Mary and God, to ask for our salvation is a joy to watch and should be supported by us all.

@tacv - As for Marian worship, the official Roman Catholic doctrine ascribes divine attributes to Mary. The real Mary, the one who gave birth to and nurtured the flesh that God used to "become flesh and dwell among us" (John 1:14) would have been appalled at the false doctrine and teachings of the Church of Rome.

The word of God does not teach us to pray to "saints". The Bible teaches us that in Christ, we can approach the throne directly and that we need no other intercessor than him!

@tacv - The problem with coming into communion with everyone who exhibits outwardly good deeds is that we cannot know a man's heart. The Bible teaches that only God knows a man's heart.

I know of Satanists who "practice good" and exhibit a loving attitude toward others. Yet they deny the existence and power of God. Would you come into communion with these "brothers" if they came to your altar to make peace because they are "good" people?

@srobertw Why should someone be against something that is based on love, even if we have different believes we should always respect what is good. If someone practice good and shares love then they should be respected and helped even if they have a different believe. Cause supporting and respecting people that do good is not the same as saying that their believes are the same as ours, but is supporting peace, love and sharing different experiences and points of view in a brotherly communion.

@tacv - I want you to know that I do love people and I respect their right to believe whatever they want to believe. But the Bible teaches of a narrow road to salvation and that few will travel this road. The Bible also teaches of a wide path to destruction which is paved by Satan who, the Bible says, will appear to us as an "angel of light." It is my love for others that drives me to beg and plead with them to consider their beliefs and to repent.

@tacv - The Bible warns of a false ecumenical religion which ultimately leads to worship of the beast. Jesus warned warned of many false Christ figures. The scriptures also admonish us to avoid anyone, even angels from heaven, who would preach a different gospel.

While I'm sure the Dalai Lama, the Pope, et al are very nice people, I fear for their souls. Buddha and false images of Mary cannot provide salvation. I pray the truth prevails and that all will come to a saving faith in the Lord.
