  • I used to be scared of this ad as a child, they used to make it really loud in the cinema too. After the first couple of times I just didn't want to go to the cinema any more.

  • Somewhere in the near future, a young boy/girl downloads a pirate video.

This gives the Terrorists enough power to kick the protestants out of Ulster and

declare there love for Ireland, thousands will die just because, (s)he (the little boy/girl)

wanted to watch ''the Flash 3D''.

  • 0118 999 881 999 119 725 3

  • This advert scared the shit out of me when I was a kid.

"Time to watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"

*THE PIRATES ARE OUT TO GET YOU*

    *cry*

  • I'm going to pirate this video, just to piss them off.

I'm not sure if I can do that, but I'll figure out a way.

  • it's like im on crazy pills!

  • even with piracy, they still make way more money they should be making

  • Oh, it finally makes sense! The problem isn't that the creativity has been drained from Hollywood, turning it into a giant money making corporation with all the originality of a roll of toilet paper. The reason why they keep turning out crappy remakes of remakes, remakes of bad tv series, reboots of franchises that should have died eons ago, and sequels of prequels of presequels is because of pirates.

  • This scared the crap out of me when I was a kid

  • anyone want some burnt VCD copies of this PSA?

  • I KNEW IT WAS THEM TURRRSTS

  • this scared me so fucking much when i was a kid.... i had nightmares about that guy...

i look at it now, and i see a shitty piracy warning ad

  • I was really young when this was on video tapes, I showed it to my mum and I couldn't watch it I'm still that scared by it.

  • What a crock of shit. Now I want to commit piracy even more.

I don't feel sorry for the industry, they can go eat a dick.

  • Piracy raped my Goldfish.

  • At the exact moment this commercial came out, england starting going on riots.

  • @Silentblogger659 This commercial has been running for years and years in cinemas. It was on when I went to see the first Harry Potter movie.

  • @MobileToyBox lol i know dude im just kidding around

  • This used to scare the shit out of me when I was a kid in the cinema

  • @flithyharry Same!! This still scares me.

  • Is that Kyle Gass?

  • funny how google bends the rules on copyright to advance their business model 24/7/365

  • well lets see, people have been pirating music for about 15 years now and that industry is doing just fine... so....whats the problem?

  • @kakashi76767 THAT WE'RE FUNDING TERRORISTS BY NOT PAYING FOR ANYTHING (including the terrorists). OH MY GAWSH (like, really) TERRORISTS?!?!?!

  • I first saw this on a Muppet Show VHS I had. I wasn't scared even though I was only 6. But it did make me think for a few years that pirated copies of DVD's and Video Tapes were actually made by real pirates. Argh!

  • age restrictions... interesting.

  • im the guy who has over 200 pirated games. Trolololol.

  • "Piracy funds terrorism."

Err...Piracy means you don't have to pay. Dumbasses.

  • Do what you want 'cause a pirate is free! You Are A Pirate! Yar-har-fiddle-dee-dee, being a pirate is all right with me! Do what you want 'cause a pirate is free! You Are A Pirate!

  • Jesus Christ I remember getting nightmares from this shit when I was a kid, all I wanted to do was watch the Tweenies!

  • True Fact # 65: Pirating movies is a gateway crime to Ethnic Cleansing.

True Fact #23: Those funded by copyrighted materials eat babies.

  • wow holy shit, i didnt know that i could download movies. thanks for the tip anti-piracy!

  • Why the hell is this age restricted?

  • Cracked sent me

  • It's funny that these ads are always on the DVDs that I buy, with my own money. Yet I never see these ads on the start of downloaded movies.

  • Looool "Piracy funds terrorism"

  • oh no, i didnt want to pay to see shitty prequel/unecessary sequel/inferior remake number 45 or the last airbender, so im responsible for 9/11!

and the people who paid to see airbender killed osama!

thanks film industry for clearing that up!

  • So if I get a copy of something for free online, while paying no money to anyone, that will fund terrorism, organized crime and generally put my life in danger?

  • I used to love this Ad as a kid. That guy totally hates legitimate copies!

  • People actually pay for pirated films or music? Wow. Learn something new everyday.

  • @Eticket109 thats the part of the movie that makes no sense

  • Piracy funds terrorism?

Ohhhhh so that's why all the torrents I download have "Ripped by aL-KaYdAh69" in their file name.

    "Message from 0s4m4 B33n L33t:

Don't be a fucking atheist leecher and stop supporting Israel (more like Isfail amirite?). Plz seed our uploads to help spread the global Jihad against the imperialistic West and to protect our oppressed Islamic lands you n00bcaeks! LOLOLOL All ur base r belong to me in Iraq, kthnxbai!"

  • 0:14 is the funniest shit evaaa :), Everytime I download a clip or movie I look like that at 0:14

  • @joshleamey lol! its the 'i haz WaReZ coming' face! ;-)

  • does anyone know where I can torrent this???

  • whoop de doop im downloading Oceans Eleve- OH GOD ME FACE WHAT THE FUCK OH GOD AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!1

    THE PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • at the end from the pirates angle it is a copyleft symbol. its mcirosoft conspiracy's to subliminely tell us linux is evil!

  • oh shit, i'm sorry. i'm so fucking sorry. Terrorism? OH JESUS? WHAT HAVE I DONE?!

  • How does free downloading FUND??

  • this video surely scares me off... for people who are against piracy...

those voices in my head! EEK

  • Ha, I'm founding terrorism huh? sweet....

  • This is why I love the South Park episode "Christian Rock Hard"

  • wait, does this make me a terrorist?

  • LAME

  • Wow, this ad is cracked

  • (skyward scream)

    TROOOOOOPES!

  • What? Piracy funds terrorism? What nonsense. Terrorists would never stoop to selling pirated goods.

  • So...much...narm.

  • go piracy...

  • I was linked here by tvtropes as well.

  • Doughnut: I think this ad is a truthful look at the consequences of piracy!

    Washington: Shut up. (Kills doughnut)

    Lola the pointless kitty: Meow!

  • Yeah, uhm, I lol'd at the terrorism statement. And the really creepy dude.

But then I guess now we know the real reason for why Sauron became evil, and, hell, why any of the strife in Middle-Earth began. Forget the legend, this is the truth.

I might mention that I, too, am a Troper. As if there weren't enough of us infesting the comments section here.

  • @:20

What? How does it... Terrorism? REALLY?

    (Troper also)

  • @Unotuchable

Piracy funds PIRATES! MORE PIRATES ARE ATTACKING INNOCENT SHIPS AND STEALING THEIR VALUABLES! AND ITS YOUR FAULT!

(would be a troper if I did not waste so much time reading and wasted more time writing)

  • Britain scares me

    I'm serious

  • Honestly, I think piracy gets peoples names out and then people might buy the merch associated with it, so It's not a Huge Profit vacuum that Extinguishes creativity =P

    (I'm also a Troper ._. )

  • @Delta4845 Exactly, hence why a number of people actually *support* their stuff being pirated. Keep circulating the torrents. Besides which, there are people (like me) who will still buy a game even after they already have it on their computer, hell half the reason I pick up thing on TPB is because I don't know if it will run on my computer, either because it's too old, or too new.

  • Yeah, because downloading songs from Kazaa and (old) Napster for free is totally going to give Osama Bin Ladin more money to hate america with, right?

  • Pardon me, but how does piracy fund ANYTHING? I mean, presuming we're talking about web piracy and not buying bootlegs... how does downloading a DVD rip give money to Al-Qaeda?

    Hilarious ad.

(I also came from TV Tropes. And last time I checked, the Anonymous thing was 4chan's shtick, not ours.)

  • @deadmanjard9 Because, my fellow troper, Al-Quaeda is apparently run by Sauron. Would it really surprise you if the guy could somehow make money from it? Probably, but it's possible.

  • piracy funds terrorism. So every time my dad puts a song on his MP3 player, the US gets bombed? suuure.

  • Everybody shut up! We are anonymous, remember? We are legion, remember? You're ruining it.

  • I'm a troper!

  • ...I came from Tv Tropes

  • Confession Time!! :3

How many of you came from TV Tropes?

  • ...I did =(

  • *Sheepish Look*

    Guilty as charged.

  • ME!!!

  • Sigh. I did.

  • I CAME!

  • I came from tvtropes as well lol

  • @ChaosBladewing

    Yo! *waves*

  • yup. right 'ere

  • LOL, so piracy is actually MORE EXPENSIVE than the original thing? wtf. Eat my shit.

  • haha what the shit.

  • I thought England had really strict rules about false advertising.

  • If i would be paying the artists I'd gladly cough up the $ for a music album when i want to listen to it. But most of that cash nowadays goes to fat corporate pigs that care more about this kind of shitty ads than talent and art.

  • PIRACY FUNDS TERROISM... wow really

  • Killing the music industry would be, at this point, like shooting Ol' Yeller. You're sad that it's come to this point, but in the end, it has to be done. The dog's gone wild.

And you can always get another dog.

  • Don't let them burn a hole in MY pocket?

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!

  • WOULD YOU PIRATE A CAR?

rofl, love how they throw in the word "terrorism"

  • Remember, kids: don't illegally download, or your merchandise will explode!

  • Death to the infedel!, osama shall have his revenge for what happened to the pirate bay 100000 infedels shall die!!!!1

  • Whoa, I just checked my chest and there's a giant X scolded on it!

It must be because of that Psycho movie by Albert Hitchcock I downloaded in 2001.

...wait, 9/11 took place in 2001- the same year that I...

...my god. What have I doooone?!

  • you bastarddd

  • I am responsible for the 9/11 attacks? All because I download crappy B-movies off the internet? I FEEL SO GUILTY AND MUST TURN MYSELF IN!!!!!!!!exclamation point!!!

  • Hahaha I'm pretty sure I can assist Osama Bin Laden in his next terrorist attack from downloading a movie off the internet.

  • I only pirate really old things, really shitty things, or impossible to get things. But I could care less about every industry the mentioned because I haven't moved past 1997, so nothing like this would actually effect me.

  • They're out to get me!?

    RUN TO THE HILLS!

  • Piracy can kill the music industry?

It would be a mercy killing at this point, but still, I'm up for it.

  • PIRACY FUNDS TERRORISM AND DESTROYS OUR FUTURE!

    my ASS!

plus, with all the shit coming out of Hollywood (crappy sequels to great films to get more cash), you'd be wasting your money BUYING them, not illegaly downloading them...

  • end the the distrbution of poor qualitiy product?

anyone else see the irony in talkking of quality with out corect grammar?

  • I was downloading a copy of The Matrix when suddenly this brand sticks out of the screen and burns a X on my face! ;_;

  • @SigmaInfinite an X*

  • @SigmaInfinite WE ARE NOW X-MEN BWAHAHAHA,,, i know its stupid

  • What kinda stupid fucking propaganda is this? Scare tactics are so fucking 50's. But really, it's really fucking sad when copyright holders can't afford their Leer Jets and pools that put Olympic sized swimming pools to shame. Please, just think of the diamond billard balls for once, you heartless pirates. That aside, copyrights screw the artists, and give power to the rights holders, i.e., the distributors. I agree Siyko, the fuck does piracy fund when it's not paying for anything?

  • Why the fuck is this video flagged?

  • Piracy funds terrorism and will distroy our development and your future enjoyment!" WHAT THE FUCK?

  • Piracy funds terrorism? how?

plus who has the money to pay for all the crap hollywood makes each year?

  • Where do I go to report poor quality product being released legitimately by hollywood? Can I call them about that too?

  • if piracy is not paying for things, then how does it fund anything?

  • Judging from this ad, pirates are actually pretty cool. I'd love to be able to make stuff explode like that, not to mention the wicked fire in the guy's eyes.

  • hmmm.. end the the distrbution of poor qualitiy product? .... Uwe Boll Is a Pirate?

  • Ahh, I remember this at the end of every VHS cassette. It's at the end of some DVDs too. I love the fire in his eyes, it's so dramatic. Up here in Yorkshire, that's what a slightly obese father of two looks like at night.

  • lol most retarded ad ever.. terrorism..

  • wait, does that mean that the myth about pirated items exploding with a little fireball if u try to mark them with red-hot iron is true?? :0

then people should stop pirating items then!!

  • Copyright can suck it.

  • i sigh with exasperation.

obviously the internet has dissolved the monetary "value" of things which can be duplicated easily. The real answer is that a new type of economy needs to form around these things.

carrot, made of atoms = don't worry, it will be the same

song, made of bits = stop making stupid laws!

  • Don't let piracy burn a hole in my pocket? ... Hah. It's quite the opposite.

    Funniest commercial evuuur <3

  • Don't let them brand you with their mark!

  • So there's a terrorist leader guy somewhere, getting suitcases of money from software pirates to fund his terrorist group? And what does that have to do with a fat demon burning piles of money?

  • I'm not sure how they got through shooting this without bursting into laughter.

  • its britain

  • It's a slippery slope from stealing music to running school kids over with your car.

  • TERRORISM

  • that... was... funny as hell! God, I never laughed this hard at a commercial since that Ax Chocolate deodorant spray commercial!

  • piracy funds terrorism! it's true man!

everytime you download anything that's copyrighted, TERRORISTS somehow gets money!

  • copyright is a fact!

    hahaha!

  • I <3 Piracy

  • I refuse to believe that this is serious.

I don't want to sound like an anti-government hippy, but... Terrorists get money from various governments that support them at the time (e.g. the IRA funded by USA)

Any government gets a lot of money from taxing businesses , so in a way, businesses fund terrorism.

On another note, I didn't really expect a British organization to use the "Terrorist" scare tactic, least of all a scare tactic as stupid as this advert showed.

  • Remember, kids: when you send music to your friend, you're supporting criminals, terrorism, communism, liberalism, atheism etc...

  • Don't forget Catholics and Satanists!

  • Ha, maybe it's just because I'm American, but the narrator sounds like Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap with that dim-witted manner and English accent.

"You cahn't really.... dust for vomit."

  • Weird. Someone other than Americans using the word terrorism as a scare tactic. A rare moment indeed.

  • Piracy will destroy the bloated fat cats that run the Music industry? Sounds good to me.

  • Al quaeda is secretly funded by bit torrent.

  • The best part about this is that its been flagged as inappropriate for minors.

  • haha, in some ways piracy funds terrorism, but just as much as federal taxes. better not to do either, just to be safe ;-.)

  • Hollywood is so commercialized and so is the music industry. They are only interested in cash and how can they squeeze it out of people. Even if people stop paying for music and movies there will still be people who will make them for free, not because they want to earn tons of money but to tell something. Music and singing wasn't something that people did solely for making money - they expressed themselves and their feelings and the greedy CEO came later, much later,

  • I dont get it ,the other day i said i was pirating a video game to someone i know .... and then that same person comes tell me that im killing the video games industry ...

What some ppl dont understand is that I pirate but i also buy video games ,i buy lots of them ? yes i do ,but i also pirate a few because i cant seem to be able to find them on the market or in the store next to my home ,duh

  • Yes, I refuse to have a hole in my pocket. That's why I don't buy shitty movies. I pirate them.

  • ... I really want to believe this video is a joke. But I don't. There really are people this stupid living in the world, and it makes me weep for our future.

  • Are they taking a page from ONDCP's playbook?

  • wtf! This is like a propaganda film from Nazi-Germany.

  • oh noes the terrorists!

why did I download torrents? why did I decide to be branded with a big X by a fat sweaty guy and pillage and plunder? Oh the humanity

  • Quickly everyone! Run from the fat man with red eyes! He wants to brand you!!

  • Brits. I always knew they had a sense of humour

  • WTF?! I knew that they are idiots, but not that big idiots!

    How does piracy found terrorism?!

  • Piracy doesn't fund terrorism. Thanks.

  • this video is, LAME!!!!

  • Yay! I'm funding terrorism, organized crime, and taking away people's jobs!

But anyway, this advertisement is ridiculous. Can they even cite a source for that statement about organized crime and terrorism?

And for future reference, the pirates are actually patching holes in my pocket... holes that were created by capitalists who demand I pay for some shitty, overpriced product which I may now obtain for free.

Live long and plunder. Abandon all hope ye who enter.

  • "This video may not be suitable for minors. "

    WHAAAAAAAT

  • lol the osama bin laden used nero to copy his video to the disk!!!!'

  • Accorting to this video

    YOUTUBE SHOULD BE BANNED...

    That will never happen/

  • This was by far the most rediculous attempt to demonise free information and un-corporate activities.

  • piracy funding terrorism. while i can kinda see the twisted logic behind that, it's bloody idiotic because the vast majority of piracy is file transfer which funds nothing except telecom companies, which pay taxes to the govt, which spends that money on kicking the shit out of Afghanistan which supposedly fights terrorism!

  • U want to fund terror then go buy a disney film, Disney tax dollars funding the war of terror oon inoccent children of Afghanistan.

  • My friend funds terrorism according to this, despite the fact he downloads for free and doesn't sell anything.

  • piracy funds terrorism? wtf

    lol HOTline

  • Piracy fucks terrorism?

  • lmao that was horrible

  • so that where al qaeda keeps getting the money from? selling $2 dvd's to buy weapons?

    somehow i don't think so...

  • piracy only funds terrorism if you're buying something ha. you don't have to purchase to pirate something.

  • funds terrorism, i dont think so

  • LOL, I remember seeing this on this on DVD I borrowed out and me and my friends were cracking up. "Piracy funds terrorism" WTF!

  • Why is this flagged?

  • WTF LOL HELPING TERRORIST WTF THAT BS

  • why was this flagged?

  • must be some of the most idiotic add ever seen...

well... great phone for a prank call >: )

  • Ooohhhh the artists suffer - as we watch that smug wacko Travolta fly his own jumbo jet into town.

    Bollox to 'em all.

  • pirates did wtc

  • LOL!

  • whoever posted this on youtube pirated the ad, lol, their funding terrorism!!!

  • HOLY SHIT! I fund terrorism now? Oh man I better stop pirating.

  • this is not fdunny b:s

  • 0.17 "...will destroy OUR music and publishing..." OUR?! who the fuck do they think they are?!?!

  • Oh well, off to Osama-WAREZ for some contraband software I go...
