The majority of the Aggressor Pilots were Vietnam Vets with 1000's of hours of true trigger time. Pilots on the receiving end of the F-5E soon found out that no matter what they were flying, it's a trained pilot that matters. There were many close air collisions due to extreme concentration during flight.
