  • there is another version of this song. One in which Charity is crying, while singing. For some reason, the minister's voice was less prominent. It seemed as if the Holy Spirit was acting in a more powerful way,if that is possible.

Many men and I sat and watched that version over the months. It was such a real manifestation of the Holy Spirit. Charity just seemed to be pouring out her heart, and it seemed a great miracle that she could sing so clearly through her tears. It made a great impact on me

  • @qitrodz do u have the link?

  • @patriciacarrasco no, I am very sorry that I don't. We watched it on VHS. I have often wished that i had that song on video tape. I have lost track of the pastor with whom we watched the video. If I find a digital version later, I will post it on my site. Blessings to you

  • Charity has a sweet voice but Katy Bourque sings THE definitive version of this song - no contest - as a passionate woman not a child. And for heaven's sake, lose the idiot grandstanding by calling out in the midst of such a majestic song. Shut up, you wanker!

  • @AnimalAdvoAustralia

If you have any respect for the Living God convicting people through His Holy Spirit, please please do NOT post comments like these. People are running for the altar to get their lives right with God, and you worry about someone calling out in the middle of the song?!

  • now THAT is an altar call! I was blessed to be there countless times- living in the area. It was POWERFUL!

  • I was there in 1996 I think.... All the way from Finland with my Bible school class.. It was so powerful when people all around the auditorium started crying and screaming and running to the mercy seat.. I ran there too! This is a classic..

  • this revival changed our lives - thank you Jesus

  • Ahhh I took a big swig...thank you

  • I used to get so much tail at that church. People would bring their bad daughters from all over and we would be bad together :) They would kneel, but it wasn't at the alter lol

  • @dorminight666 You know, I used to serve the dark side like you. I pray Jesus will overwhelm you with His love and break the horrible satanic darkness you have given yourself to. His power can smash satan's little power like it was nothing. Father in Jesus' Name reach out to this one who is lost in pain and bitterness. Break the demonic power that has made them a slave.

  • @stealthwar1 what do you mean "serve the darkside"? you must be talking about Jesus because I'm Christian. I was just being honest, there are a lot of sluts at church. oh and by the way lay off the starwars

  • @dorminight666 Yeah, so did the sons of Eli.

  • @rodneynewton1 what?

  • @dorminight666 1 Samuel 2:22

  • i have also been to brownsville when i was a teenager and we waited 7 1/2 hrs in the hot summer sun and it was worth every moment of the wait

  • Can anyone tell me, where is Charity today? she is one very annointed servant!

  • @farmitch she is still to this day in Steve Hill's ministry. My brother has recently been receiving Facebook notes by Charity( who has since married and goes by Charity James Hubbard). From our understanding, Steve Hill is battling cancer.

  • @Jennaflip he can afford it

  • The Church of Philadelphia.

  • Lmao @ the prospect of salvation.

  • i was there that day.

  • I WAS THERE FROM 96 -98 ...I THINK..HAHAHAHA I WAS SO LOST IN HIS LOVE THERE..I HAD 4 AMAZING VISIONS WHILE THERE...AND THE LORD TOUCHED ME...AND WOW! THE AROMA OF THE SPIRIT WAS SOOO AWESOME THERE

  • I want that too Lord !!!!!

  • if you sincerely seek his face and are struggling in sin he jesus will help you. but the timing is up to him. from brother carl TEMORA NSW australia

  • who sings this song

  • charity james is played by Dusty in Balto 3 ^_^

  • not everyone can sing this song like Charity. The anointing makes the difference.

  • @smbga

    Definitely true. Amen!

  • thank God! i have wanted to find this video for so long, i first watched it in summer of 96 i had just been saved about 3 months, God really used this video of Charity James singing and watching the people come to the mercy seat i had never known anything about God, a friend of mine had a video of this and let me borrow it wow i was on the floor for hours worshiping and weeping, God allowed me to sing this song and wow God used it mightly in my life, Praise God! things change but He doesnt

  • @vinapearman GLORY SISTER!!! GLORY TO OUR FATHER!!

  • I got saved in 1997 and 4 months later went to the revival it was AWESOME. !!thanks for posting these video's. GOD I miss those days

  • Legalism killed that revival.

  • How so?

  • @RememberSobibor what is that supposed to mean?

  • @dorminight666 Just what it said. They took their eyes off Jesus and it became all about how well you preformed.

  • @RememberSobibor i wasn't performing, she was

  • @dorminight666 I'm not talking about the singing I'm talking about how well "you" (in the generic sense) lived up to the legalistic expectations of the revival leaders.

  • it use to be powerful but it seems like it lost its touch to me. Sorry . Good vid tho :)

  • You're not the same person you were when this was happening. God meets you where you are not where you were 14 years ago

  • I don't believe in him the way I use to. I do but in a different way. Revivals like this and all of the fake stuff - really turned me off. I've switched different religions now because I got tired of tight Christians and not being able to have liberty. Don't get me wrong, I believe in Jesus, I just think the church has a lot of things wrong. I am happier now then I ever use to be.

  • I don't think this revival was fake at all, in some ways it changed my life. but somewhere along the line it became about money and it became about you changing your behavior to measure up to Jesus instead of Jesus changing your nature. I left a legalistic church after 11 years I understand the concept of wanting liberty

  • I was there once. No one touched me when I was upfront and I was slain in the spirit, however one of the ushers pushed and shoved on my uncles head so hard he flew black and hit his head on the pew and it was bleeding. No one offered to help.

  • Just because God is moving in a place doesn't mean that there aren't flakes involved. I had the same experience at another church where an usher ran by me grabbed my head and threw me to the floor (imagine a center fielder fielding a flyball and throwing to first). That didn't change the fact that God was moving. I still believe that the BR was based in legalism that's one of the reasons (IMO) it didn't take off and it ended in a church split. But that doesn't make the fact that God changed CNT

  • A lot of people's lives any less real.

  • I am glad to know that there are balanced spiritual people :)

Yeah, I agree about money. It's amazing at how much God tends to want or need money.

  • Personally I've never had God ask me for money. I do thithe because I believe that the principal works but I don't believe that God will curse you if you don't do it.

The SS troops under Himmler all wore belt buckles inscribed "Gott Mitt Uns" It means "God is W/ us" just because a man said it doesn't mean God endorses it.

  • @RememberSobibor

May I suggest you study the Word of God under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The Word of God is only discerned by the Spirit of God. Choose to believe the Word of God, even if it dispels your own thoughts.

  • And how does this relate to what I said?

  • Ya know, I understand that the church has a lot of imperfections, but God's Word is perfect, and I will look to His Word to teach me and guide me. I don't need to change religions if I am unhappy with church folk, because I look to His Word for His Truths. There is freedom in Christ and I am set free and no church can take that away from me, confuse me, or cause me to want to change my religion. I will stick with the truth of God's Word and no matter what, I have decided to follow Jesus.

  • God's Word is perfect? I guess that depends on what translation you are using :)

  • We as christians need to stop bickering about the little thing that doesn't matter and focus on repentance!!!... Put yourself against God's law EXAMINE yourself DAILY!!!... The word of God has never changed and never will.

  • @BboyRobbo707

Repentance is what God commands us to do to be humbled before Him, and to be to be a vessel through whom He works. For God resists the proud, and honors the humble. Amen for daily repentance! For a broken and contrite spirit the Lord will not despise!

  • Or which version of the Koran you are reading . . . gotcha!

  • A million thanks for posting this video. There's nothing like the pure, genuine Spirit of God.

  • I went to the revival in May of 1997 and I felt God drawing me down to the alter and I re-dedicated my life to the Lord. I then move down to Pensacola to be near the revial in total faith, I got an apartment, and then in July of 1999 my Mother moved down to Penacola and we stayed at Brownsville until the church split in 2004. I can't thank Charity enough either she is truly annointed

  • Hi, I wanted to ask you if the revival continued until 2004, and if after the split the revival continued in some form in either of the two churches? Thanks.

  • No, after the split of the church in 2004, the church was not he same, and that is why my Mother and myself left, Pensacola and moved back to KC, where we came from, well actually we are from Topeka,Ks origanally. I was devestated and so were a lot of people when Pastor Kilpatrick suddenly left. I hope that helps answer your question. God Bless you

  • My brother and I went down to brownsville about '97, it was awesome.

  • This is still a chillingly awesome piece of revival history.

  • One cannot watch those people running to the Mercy Seat without knowing GOD WAS IN THAT PLACE. Marriages being healed, mothers and fathers watching their children find freedom, MY GOD MY GOD MY GOD!!!

  • This is the voice that brought me to JESUS,I cant thank Charity enough,it literally broke the walls I had built up. But Mostly I Thank JESUS for Bringing me to the right place at the right time,Sometime in feb. 1999 I Think ! May GOD Bless and keep us all.

  • @captjohnb1 Wow!! That is so AWSOME! I saw this service & heard Charity sing this song absolutely years ago & never ever forgot it, hence why today in Oct 2010 I've looked it up. There is a pureness..... That's what I call anointed! We rejoice with Heaven for your salvation! Kingdom Blessings.

  • @Shezzaism I never got in on any of the revival, but I bought the music! and, it looks like God is moving again in Alabama this time!! Same Pastor Kilpatrick, same Holy Spirit, but different people!! :o)

  • That was an awesome. What an awesome time. If you have any other clips, especially praise and worship please, please post
