  • Its a good book for fat fucks. We need more books encouraging fat fucks to lose weight. Hell, just thinking about fat fucks made me skip dinner again! ThinspiratioN!

  • A book teaching children obesity is unhealthy, leads to diminished self esteem, and emotional health problems...wow that sure is horrible...

Obesity is just as bad other eating disorders.

  • "To suggest popularity comes with being thing is the wrong message..."

But it does. It may be shallow as fuck. But so is having aspirations of popularity.

  • the art is so kawaii desu

  • Fat people are repulsive, and an unhealthy lifestyle and you Amerifats should feel ashamed

lol kidding of course, but child obesity is a serious issue that should be dealt with

  • You heard it here, folks.

Proper diet and exercise will make kids develop horrendous eating disorders!

I mean, heaven forbid that an obese child try to lose some of that weight so that they don't develop health problems when they'e older. Also, people who are accusing the book of saying that "being thin will make you popular" need to remember that people who lose THAT much weight and end up leading healthy lives tend to get admired, commended, and respected for such a huge accomplishment.

  • So the book is an accurate reflection of real life? If people want to change society, it won't work by critiquing a children's book with terrible rhyming.

  • BEING FAT ISN'T UNHEALTHY.

    ITS A LIFESTYLE.

  • It's about being healthy, not about diets or fitting that dress.

  • Lol, let them be fat so they die of a heart attack.

  • Death to fatties!

  • Hey, don't you fucking dare unbalance those likes and dislikes

  • @Mitchal13579 All we know is that our guts say maybe.

  • Nothing is wrong with me in autistic child this is where there mind is at she would understand it better. She would not have a eating disorder from reading a book. She would not have low esteem from the book. Her self esteem is low right now because she gets bullied by peers because she is obese! It may not be every child but for some it would be a good book

  • Unintelligent and uninformed people are for this book. Those of us who are educated and intelligent understand that children have to eat foods according to their age, developement and personal health needs. We also understand the very tedious issue of self-esteem in all girls and how a book like this could destroy self-esteem and trigger eating disorders!

  • Ridiculous. I understand that America is worried about child obesity but giving your child a book that talks about a girl losing weight will not only embarrass the child but reflect on the relationship with the parent as well. Kids shouldn't be worried about this stuff cuz most children that age have simple baby fat still left in their bodies. Parents should gradually help them lose weight in a way that doesn't show negativity.

  • I have show this to my daughter therapist as well as my daughter and she said she would love to have this book. It was original suppose to be able to get on Oct 16 now it is set for sometime in Dec :( I was going to order it on Oct 16 so she could start reading it and we could be discussing the book together as well as her with her therapist. How can they rate a book just but the word diet in it! This should be read by older child for one thing it is written about a 14 yr now a 6 to 8 yr old

  • @rdavis46 If you want to insult your daughter and destroy her self-esteem then this is the perfect book!

  • @rdavis46 If you want to insult your daughter and destroy her self-esteem then this is the perfect book! If your daughter is obese then it's your fault not hers! Feed her healthy foods!

  • @rdavis46 whats wrong with you?

  • nothing wrong with this book. saving young kids from a life of humiliation if they think its ok to be fat. all you fatasses stop being lazy and criticising something that criticises your laziness.

  • I believe this would be a good book for kids with special needs. I have one called Freddy fights fat so how is that one different from Maggie goes on diet. It is the same concept except it is a girl. I think what scares parents is the word DIET for the book. I will be buying it because my daughter is going to be 14 soon and she has autism. She really enjoys freddy fights fight that she even takes it to school. She gets bullied at school because she is obese. I use be morbid obese myself

  • @rdavis46 agreed. the people who criticise this are the ones that are LAZY and don't wanna make an attempt to lose weight, even when it comes to helping their children.

  • Promoting a healthy fit lifestyle?!?!! WHAT BULL HARGONDY!

  • waaaaah think of the children.

  • Please check out the kids book "Don't Call Me Cookie" by Vanessa Pasiadis. It is available on Amazon.com and teaches healthylifestyles and weight loss in a responsible manner.

  • mercury clock 3 the point of the book is to teach kids it is cool to be thin! and not to be themselves. The book has nothing to do with eating healthy rather to lose weight and diet. At 6 years old parents feed there children. So parents can teach there children to eat healthy and exercise without a book telling them to be thin because it is cool. This will cause eating disorders which is a huge issue in children. Being too thin is an issue as well. A sequel can be maggie eats to little.

  • There has been one thing that has bothered me about the covering of this story: If this was a story about an obese boy, and written by a women, would people be all over it like "Oh how can a /Woman/ presume to tell our sons how to eat".

Fuck No. I just don't see it as likely.

Instead, the media says"marketed at girls" as if obesity and body image was exclusively a female thing; and as if because the main character is female, boys couldn't relate. Yeah, just like boys don't read twilight.(HA!!)

  • Chubby Wubby? What a bitch!

  • wish that book was around when i was a kids then maybe i wouldnt be having so much trouble with my weight now

if i child is obese it is a good book its not like they are saying in the book not to eat its

just teaching them to be healthy which is great kids need that kids always got for sugar and junk food due to lack of education this is a good book to be around

  • Isn't Obesity an eating disorder? I haven't read it but from this video it suggests it is promoting health eating and exercise rather than disordered eating. And kids already have the message from peers that being overweight is causes unpopularity.

I'll reserve judgement until I read it

  • It never said Maggie stops eating. It says she eats healthier and joins the soccer team,

  • i seen the author...he looks like a pedo bear.

  • Incredible. Totally against this book. You can't teach and encourage children to diet. It leads to eating disorders (like mentioned in the video). - - The best approach is to indirectly absorb them into a healthy lifestyle.

    Chris

  • In med school, we took an oath: First, do no harm. Maggie Goes on a Diet is harmful - and the comments below prove that. I wrote a little picture book about my experiences as a cautionary tale. Search for the youtube video "Michelle Goes on a Diet...That Lasts for 20 Years."

  • LETS DO THIS

  • MAGGIE ATE OATZ AND BECAME POPULAR

    SEX, DRUGS, SQUAT&OATZ

  • What the fuck? This could be a book for teenagers "maybe", but seriously this is just ridiculous. I mean what does he want to teach little children next? "Maggie buys her first sex-toys"? Stupid bullshit.

  • @RapidSkater1 Yes, educating kids on nutrition is completely unnecessary. That's why kids today are so healthy, right?

    You're an idiot.

  • @MercuryClock No, Paul Kramer is a douchebag. Its up to the parents to educate kids, not this retarded book author.

  • @RapidSkater1 Petty name-calling toward the author aside, you are right. It should absolutely be up to the parents to educate their kids. The problem is that isn't happening, for the most part. It's much easier to just tell your kid "this is your body, and you can't change it" (which is a flat-out dangerous, irresponsible lie) than it is to explain just how much damage people do to themselves by making fast food and soda dietary staples and spending most of the day not moving.

  • How is this video Paul kramer defending his ideas? You just fucking outlined all the arguments against the book and showed a glimpse of his face.

  • If the book hasn't been published yet, then how is it the author's fault that little girls think that other girls are fat? That's what the video is trying to make you think, but it makes no fucking sense. The reason that the girls are like that is because children are taught at a young age to be shallow. We need more books like this so that we have more active and "HEALTHY" people in the future.

  • I literally can't wait until everyone is fat and starts fapping to Ironman and Fitness Rx magazine. It will be wonderful. The only thing you'll have to do to be special is be healthy and attractive.

    Goodness, I can't wait.

  • DAMN that bitch be fat

  • >implying there is absolutely anything wrong with Kramer's book.

  • I spent a solid minute looking for The Onion logo and couldn't find one.

    Fuck this gay earth.

  • God damn it

If you call eating healthy an eating disorder I'll lynch myself

  • Does she even lift?

  • i can't wait to be a piece of shit and eat cookies all day! i sure do love being an liberated person, maybe i'll sit on the couch and jerk off into my own mouth, being a lard ass is great!

  • I used to be a little chubby growing up and was picked on by kids also. Then I went to the gym and did something about it. People need to stop preaching "HURR ACCEPT ME FOR WHO I AM BECAUSE I'M TOO LAZY TO CHANGE MYSELF" Seriously, what's wrong with this book? A girl who is obese goes on a diet, exercises, and joins a social sporting event. Everything Maggie does is productive, but it still hated by lazy fatties who just think people have to "accept" them just because they exist.

  • 15 chubby wubbies saw this video.

  • Stirring up "big" controversy. I'll bet.

  • THIS IS INSANE. How dare we teach children about diet and exercise? THIS IS THE RETURN OF COMMUNISM

  • Also, sup /fit/?

  • lol at taking comments from the dailymail website.

  • @brianmarini

"Epidemic" doesn't even describe obesity in America, since epidemics are centered in small locations. Obesity is Pandemic across America, and it's this fat acceptance bullshit that's perpetuating it.

  • @brianmarini You make valid points, but what you're missing is the fact that teaching/modelling dieting at an early age can lead to serious mental/eating disorders. It's easy to say "stop eating", but what is difficult to understand is what battles someone is going through internally.

Yes Obesity is a problem - but coming from a teacher who sees elementary students (especially girls) bring celery and water to school because they don't want to get fat, is really bothersome.

  • @brianmarini so kids should bully other kid into losing weight? ;/

  • @brianmarini It isn't about willpower or determination - that stereotype is what makes Overweight people feel helpless. It is about making healthy educated choices and being supported in them - empower them and assume that they are strong but understand their focus is misdirected or environment unhealthy.

  • @brianmarini I agree that obesity is a problem--however, the author is 1) male, and 2) notably overweight himself. What on Earth does he know about what little girls go through? It seems kind of hypocritical to me. Why didn't he write a book about an overweight boy? Or, more importantly, why doesn't he take his own advice and lose weight first, before writing a book about it? I dunno about you, but I wouldn't take my diet advice from a porker like Paul Kramer.

  • oh dear. Americans are so fucking stupid it's hilarious.

If anything nutrition should be taught in school so you don't have even more fatty McFatfats ruining your country.

  • Jesus Christ, only in America can someone get shit for writing a book about a girl losing weight in a HEALTHY manner.

  • His book is targetting overweight people. Overweight people are never popular. Overweight people are another stress on healthcare. Overweight people are not normal.

You don't see overweight animals in the wild do you? Mankind has failed.

  • >permabulkan

I sincerely hope you gentlemen don't perform this action.

  • That's horrible.

  • LET'S DO THIS

  • @progrock1991 YYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, Korey and Co Host
