@Stgeorgealbany depends on what rite you use, in the 'old' rite mass Salve Regina was sung all year around, and this is still the case in some churches.

@assistantorganist I'm not sure what you are referring to as the "Old Rite." It may have been sung ad libitum in some places at the end of Mass. However, the traditional usage was as a Marian hymn at the end of Compline, and that, only during the summer months.

I am not a catholic but I found Notre Dame the most ethereal place on earth to visit.! The music is more beautiful because of the amazing acoustics in the cathedral. Anyone who is aware of the looming global warming threat to our planet must feel the need for some beauty and hope which this music portrays to all different races and all religions. It/s popularity is testified to by the millions of hits on Youtube for this music: loved all over the World.

it's a statue made in silver and given to the cathedral by king Charles X in the XIX century.

If you ever come in Paris you coudl see it in the treasury of the cathedral
