  • The 5.0 isn't stock, it has headers for sure and probably a cat or axle back exhaust. And yes the Evo is modded and it put up a good fight. Point is, shut the fuck up with all this hate and appreciate what these cars were made to do!

  • @mattyc0928,each car was built with a different purpose in mind.The Evo is a rally monster,simple as that and the Mustang is well,a dragstrip terror(has been and always will be).The Evo and Subies weren't designed for drag racing.I've got an '11 Ralliart and it's great in the twisties and shitty weather(snow) which is what the Evo and Subie were truly built for.And for HottestGuyOnInternet,the Evo,any year,is a bad motherfucker on a roadcourse,deal with it!

  • @nate20e mustangs are finally respectable now, before they were a joke. 4 cylinders could easily keep up, but now they struggle to keep up with a 5.0 . now a turbo charged 6 cylinder keeps it due with any v8, turbo chargers are just so much more efficient than super chargers. cobras will have trouble keeping up with supras. 5.0 is a great bang for the buck though, in the end it doesn't matter where a car's origin is. it depends on the amount of money the owner has. lol

  • I agree the mustang is fast, but it depends on which road course that the new v6 beat the X. My friend has the new v6 with the performance pack, stickier tires, magnaflow exhaust, GT misc suspension parts and I beat him by several seconds autocrossing. but mine does have a few mods too ;) to each his own

  • evo's and wrx's aren't that good at top speed runs. they're only good for short bursts from 0-80 and after that, their little 2 liter engine can't hold it's load

These new Mustangs aren't just made for straight lines anymore... some people love drag racing and don't care about the turns, I prefer having a car that holds its own in all areas of motorsports.

  • @98dodge360v8 Brought back? Surely your not implying that the new 5.0 has anything in common with the old 5.0. The new 4v 5.0 replaced the 3v 4.6.. The 4v 5.4 from the GT500 (which is a very capable motor) has been stroked to a 5.8 and is now making 650 in the 2013 GT500.

  • @98dodge360v8 Just as long as you understand the new 5.0 is a completely different engine design than the old 302 5.0 HO. The 302 has more in common with the an LS1 than it does with this new engine. Mainly because it was a OHV pushrod engine and the new 5.0 is a 32 valve DOHC. Completely different animals. That's a big factor in it having a higher redline, and higher HP/Liter.

Fucking AMAZING car.... the 2013 Mustang GT500KR is coming back with the 351 Cleveland... Its supposed to be a 200+mph car...The 302 Boss is pretty fucking mean though... Can't imagine what the GT500 is going to be like...

As for power adders just realize that its already turbo'd so just getting a simple tune you can get 50+ hp. Insurance and gas is cheaper for an evo. You can't compare a 2 liter to a 5 liter and expect it to be even without forced induction lol.

My friend bought his 480whp evo for 35k. Who buys new cars anyways? The evo is a way cheaper car, and with a big turbo you will be putting out high numbers in a LIGHT car that can handle just as well on any track conditions.

Only the 2011 Mustang Gt beat the Evo by only 2 second's when Car and Driver did there Lighting lap at V.I.R which, look it up, I was there when they did it. I honestly still believe the Evo has more potential around a track. The 5.0 only beat the Evo because the power difference. Give the Evo the same power as the 5.0 has, and it is no match.
