  • Thanks for showing how to do this. I've always been afraid of doing stuff with joint compound as the results I've gotten were horrible!

  • Hey I had asked a question on another vid and appreicate your response. Im about to start on my 3rd skim coat but I noticed they havent been going on as easily as in this video. Do you mix your compound with water at all? Someone suggested I mix a little water in and it will be like a glaze and finish like glass.

  • @romajr86 Hello again! Yes, always thin the compound out a little with water. It's too stiff right from the 5 gallon bucket. Some buckets sit on the shelf longer than others and lose water. Before you thin it, transfer half the mud to another Clean/Empty 5 gallon bucket and then add a little water to both and then mix. This will prevent your mixing tool from burning out. Its hard to say exactly how much water to add because every bucket is different. Start with less and add more if needed.

  • Great video, thanks!
