  • @doomsdaytelemarketer definitely not the reason. the reason for doing that is so if you step on it the chord doesnt fall out or get damaged. nothing to do with whether the input is damaged.

  • @doomsdaytelemarketer You think if that was true, they wouldn't use one with an input that is not messed up for a promotional advertisement video? As TherealJohnnyV said, it is to ensure that the cable doesn't fall out should it be stepped on. I've worked in recording studios and that is the exact reason why mic cables are coiled around the mic stands.
