took WAYYY too long getting into the set........and from what im hearing, i didnt miss much by not going to see this band back then..........3rd rate heroin/clikitat ikatowi/angel hair ripoffs with "whoa-a-ooohs!" mixed in.
I'm with AFIEBHC, but you're entitled to your opinion. I can see someone not liking the direction they started going, (less post-hardcore, more prog and trippy) but to say it's ALL garbage? I call bullshit because there's songs that sound like old ATDI on newer albums.
Just my two cents. Feel free to state your case (I encourage you to, actually) if you can be respectful about it. I like debates, not arguments.

That fu**in shit isn't music or anything. This is a sh**load of fu**! He can't sing and can't dance and I think he can't do anything. I just say, don't listen to anything like this. Rather something valuable, but not this.
@realricsi5 Who are you to determine what is valuable in musical terms for anyone else? I'm sorry that's just completely ignorant especially seeing as music is one of the most subjective things in life.
I find it funny that, to most people, videos from shows at the fireside appear yellowed old and discolored from age...but if you ever went to any of those shows you know, that's just what it looked like inside.
My favorite thing about At the Drive-In. They spend all this time setting up the monitors for Cedric's voice, but then when it comes to the music, half of the time he is dancing and just yelling into the mic, or not at all. I love it.
its kinda a contradiction moose but they're the people making the music... its a great high and they freak out.... all they're saying is they dont wont people hurting each other. yeah, its intense.. but ... its also humble
It makes me LOL to hear the band whinning about people "slam dancing" when Cedric's screams and has an even more intense performance than most metal frontmen. Just stand still like the 40+ year olds that Tool are and people won't slam dance.. Anyways, good stuff and good band!
Lucky for me i grew up in juarez but nver got to see them. not even now. i hated that the only two rock radio stations , one being spanish wouldn't even play them
whatever dude, its says your 20, I doubt you were listening to ATDI when you were 10, I know I wasn't listening to them until Relationship of command came out because I HAD NO IDEA WHO THEY WERE before that album and I know a lot of people would agree with that.
but but but!!! i know for a fact that if i knew them when i was 10 i would of listened to them so it doesnt matter what time i got into them, it was just abit late but if i heard them when i was 10 i would of loved them still im sure
At the drive-in and Limp Bizkit's music is definitely nothing alike, but Ross Robinson produced Limp Bizkit's debut three dollar bill y'all along with At the drive-in's relationship of command so they at least shared the same producer. Three dollar bill is the only Limp Bizkit cd I can tolerate, but they aren't anywhere close to At the drive-in's songwriting. In my opinion in/casino/out is one of the best records of the 90's. Also try out Glassjaw, Yaphet Kotto, and Saetia if you like ATDI.
The Ghetto Blaster was featured on the Vaya EP cover and also displayed on tour during their pre-Grand Royal days. The Ghetto Blaster was also referenced lyrically on the El Gran Orgo EP. My favorite live band ever. This is one of the few youtube videos that captures what they were really like live. The energy is all there. ATDI's anti-moshing platform was necessary for so many reasons. It made an aggressive band approachable to a wider audience than the varsity football team. Thanks ATDI!!
yea they were anti-mosh but they were pro-dance. its a fine line but one thats respectable. the fireside was an sweet place. these kids were just getting their faces PWNED though.
You are kidding, right? I hope I just missed the point completely. Limp Bizkit being compared with At The Drive-In? Wow. I never thought I'd see the day. Limp Bizkit have no songs with anywhere near the amount of depth, emotion and intelligence that ATDI has. No one is like ATDI, at all, and they will live on...Limp Bizkit is just white trash, head banging bullshit, with an overly heavy 'killer riff bro', simplistic song structures, and far too many profanity's. No talent fucks, to sum it up.
If anyone out there wants to see a reunion there is an online website you can sign. Tony Paul Cedric Omar And Jim all playing together thus forming at the drive in. If there is enough There might be a chance to see them again thanks petitiononlinedotcom/ATDI
Hell ya! I saw GlassJaw Here with Converge when I was in high school 2001/02. There were these psychos in the mosh pits with black ski masks and everything I love this place! good memories. (sigh)
these guys were ahead of their time. decades from now people will look back in awe.
