Wow, I grew up in Japan and lived in Kyoto for a year, but this is the first time I learned about this Shrine where there are 10,000 torii! Amazing. I can't wait to visit it and walk the path thru all the torii. I learned about it at a "Forgiveness Ceremony" today on Good Friday and also Earth Day, at the Southwest Institute for the Healing Arts. The director was sharing her experience in Japan and about the torii "gates" -- how when you pass through one, you are to release all the past! Great.
