  • @cnn101 I am sure you have a dark skinned complex, guess you kids will be" mixed" LOL!!!!!

  • @cnn101 u are probably the only pure raced person on the planet. I think you should study history before u speak. As well, u are obviously not smart enough to have this conversation. Go read a book nigga.

  • @cnn101 1st if u r ignorant enough to believe that there is a pure race than u r the idiot. Furthermor. I actually feel sorry for these people with a none black parent because they have a very desperate need for validation. There are tons of youtube uploads from these people crying, "I'm NOT BLACK" when they only look black. In america Black people look like this and and have 2 blk parents Rosa Parks, Vanessa Williams etc. Geesh, kids in Africa r starving... there r more interesting topics

  • @17jayndoh man r u slow lol? there are 3 races- caucasion, mongoloid(asain), and negroid(black). And yes there are black ppl that are pure even in america. Ofcourse there are pure raced people, not saying everyone or even most are but yes there are LOL and if your like this women negroid/caucasion then yes your black but your also just as white as you are black. Theres nothing wrong with that.

  • Gosh you are sad....you are going out of you way to disassociate yourself from being black. You are darker than my mom and she is Black. Black is a mixed race period so why worry about %. You look black,,,but you do not look white. You willed be seen as black. Get over it.

  • @17jayndoh black is not a mixed race that is ignorant. Blacks most blacks in the U.S. yes are mixed but around the world NO! This women is indeed mixed European/African.

  • airhead

  • We need to get over the race thing. There is a African couple that gave birth to a non albino white child. Blond hair and blue eyes. Is that kid black because he parents are black? Is he white because of the randomness of genetics? We as humans need to put everything into some category so we can feel superior to each other. This is what causes confusion, wars, self doubt, and rejection. Get over it people its not worth all the pain and drama. We are all human at the end of the day.

  • she seems kinda desperate for approval from whites. kinda like tiger woods who supposedly is proud of who he is but only fucks white chicks. f---in hilarious

  • doesnt mulatto mean mule

  • The one drop theory was actually used in order to keep black people from voting.Funny on how Halle Berry is now using something that was so racist..and rediculous back in the day to now suit her!Could you imagine if a white person brought up something like this in reverse...everyone would be all up in arms!

  • Comment removed

  • Read the article... I think it was written by a british mulatto named Jasmine? If not, read that one. Great. I've NEVER viewed him, even within my own brain, as black. He's half white and half black.

BLACKS ENFORCE THIS ONE-DROP RULE MORE THAN ANYONE... Also, the one-drop rule was not valid all over the South or America. Pretty much just in 17th century Lousiana. There was a "yellow" race in the south- mixed people. Some owned slaves too.

  • your lame!

  • you hate the one drop rule but you have no problem one droping multi generational mulattos tiff get a life dear!

  • @msmelody1960 u have a little white in you but were you conceived by a white person? no okay then think before you speak dear

  • @1luvaero no you think before you speak! idk what the hell you're even talking about. what does my comment have to do with what you just said?!and for your damn information i am 45% white that's more than just alittle bit.soo shut the hell up when you don't know what you.re talking about!!!!!

  • @msmelody1960 What i'm trying to say is ur black get over it

  • @1luvaero im not black damit im mixed so you can one drop yourself all you want, but i refuse to!

  • This woman is so beautiful that its not even funny.

  • Don't get me wrong...I loooovvveee being African American but for some reason I don't fit in with the "Black" that much...most of my friends are White and I have close Indian friends as well...Blacks are nice to me at school but I don't hang out with them personally b/c I don't feel accepted or feel out of place...I'm a Southern born with a Northern accent and most of them just say "Why you talk like that but you cool???" (Southern slang)...It's b/c I'm me and no one else

  • i wish this conversation didnt hold as much weight as it does. but people seem to be obsessed with race. IT DOES NOT MATTER.

People are people, and they look like isnt what really matters at all. What they SAY and what they DO is what really matters, those thing are what make us who we really are.

sadly, it seems people are quick to judge because of laziness and would rather not get to know one another and instead just tack their own ideas of what someone should be based on appearance. fools.

  • @PieceofMindmusic well said my dear=]

  • @msmelody1960 thank yoouu <3

  • It's a purity thing too.

  • From African cultural tradition on lineage, bloodline was/is transmitted through

matrilineage (for obvious reason, the sperm source is presumed) while wealth and property are transmitted through patrilineage. Thus, from this tradition we get who we ARE from our mother; we get what we HAVE from our father.

Using African tradition to analyze Obama, he is white, having gotten not only bloodline from his mother, but also culture. It is from European tradition that racial genetics are primary.

  • The One Drop Rule is patently silly. It started off being touted solely by racist Whites but now some - not all - Blacks have picked up the torch and run with it too. Sad.

  • ummm who didnt know barrack was bi racial ...i think we black just knew that this was the closest we will ever get to a black president ..sadly it will never happend

  • Huhn, most likely you will have kids with a white. Typical.

  • @MrsDomino that's wright she totally has a inferiotiy complex.

  • @msmelody1960 right isn't spelled with a w lol she may have a complex ur just inferior lol

  • @kindahokey you fucking idiot,if your teacher had been any good he or she who have caught your dumb ass that there are two forms of the word right, first wrigt as in correct, second as in right as in direction! so take that ass back to school and get yourself and edumation lol.

  • @msmelody1960 Your usage of the word is wrong you can be a playwright lol but you said "You're so wright" in which case you should have used "right" lol lighten up i'm just annoying you to make you react lol i could really care less where you went to school lol wutev

  • Is it still called "fathering" when its rape? ... I mean... I guess maybe your just trying to put it delicately. I would just say, slave owners who raped and impregnated their slaves. Also... they bred the slaves to generate more property. They were forced to have sex with one another ever if they didnt want to to produce a baby/ What the slave owner did was just rape for pleasure and cruelty. But even with that said. I like your vids :-)

  • Gezzz she is sooo ugly, You do know Mulatto are donkey and horse together

  • It really doesn't matter if the kids looked like they were biracial rather than 1/4 Black... Why are you so color struck?

  • this is kinda what I'm thinking. cause when you mix African DNA you never know what your gonna get. there was a actress in the 20's that passed as a white woman but she was found out when the child she had by a white man came out black. fact : a black woman can give birth to a white child (albino, light skinned) but a white woman can never have a black child. she would have to have African ancestry or the father of the child would.

  • @khalilahinjapan

lol tell me about it haha.

  • HOUSE NEGROS

  • I declare that the one drop rule no longer exists. Who ever this has any substance with, I release you into the cloud. Now all you new people what will you call yourselves?( And dont say biracial lest you prefer to live in the racist past.)

  • I think everyone needs to just accept who they are regardless of what you are because it matters not if you are black, white or asian or latino you were brought into this world thats all that matters

  • well bob marley was half white...and let somebody tell him that he wasn't black...that man would of had a fit ...but everybody is entitled to their own opinion

  • lol damn this is sad lol look at president obama wife that alone would tell you what color he is. He*s a black man!!!!!!!! get over it people

  • @1king187 That was the dumbest comment i've ever heard, you said that " Because Obama married a Black women that its proof he's a black man LOL Are you serious ? So if he would of married a white women would that be proof that he's a white man, that was the most stupid comment i seen yet, go back and think a little, no matter what race his wife is... that will never cancel out the fact that he is Biracial . DUHH, WOW, you're not exactly splitting atoms are you ?

  • my wife is mulatto and she belives that the one drop thing is bullshit too

  • I dont know why but I always find it interesting and strangely refreshing watching your vids lol maybe because your one of the few people on here that makes sence .

But I wonder...if all biracial people (black/white) looked alike would they be recognized as a speciffic ethnicity just like any other race, instead of society clumping us into another category of race. I guess we'll never know :P

    Thanks for sharing btw

  • the problem with the Obama issue is that, there is a big difference between One dropping and self identification. there is no wrong in him saying he is black....the great thing about being mixed is that you can see yourself as whichever race you want, and even use your race to your advantage.

  • I am white and I wish I was biracial! biracial people are beautiful!

  • I seen thoses kids they looked like they were a fourth black. Did u see them. Most people i know that are mixed are darker than the average light skin person. Some are even darker than me and i'm not really that light. How much more could they have been? Black features are a lot stronger than white some white features like darker eyes and hair are dominant

  • Um, I think it's important to embrace all of your heritage because all the mixures made you the person you are. :)

I won't lie, this poor girl seems like she'd rather be White then Black, which is something she's going to have to deal with on her own. It's identity crisis.

    And it's sad. :(

  • Have A Friend That Is Mulatto & He Is Very Browned Skinned. And His Sister Had A Child And She Is Light Skinned.&& I Have Friends That Are Mulatto That Looks Like They Are Just White. I Think It Just Depends.

  • This is a case study in why you should not have mixed children w/o giving them a strong sense of their black identity. If you don't then they will become confused like this poor child!

She is in love with white people and the idea of being white when clearly her physiognomy is Black. She is tormented because of the knowledge of her immediate White parentage does not translate into herself being accepted as a White person. She actually has to tell people when she meets them of her 50% white blood

  • What if you are part Arab or part Gypsy? does the rule apply there?

  • If you had child with a black man they would be mixed! so like whats the point of that statment? just because Black blood is dominate doesnt mean 25% of there blood isnt white.

  • @Antwansuperstar88, where on God's green earth did you come up with the idea that "Black blood is dominant"? ... Please study genetic science before talking nonsense. The ignorance on Youtube is staggering.

  • this girl high lights herself as mulatto blah blah blah because she wanted to be white. she's over here talking about she may end up having kids from a white person, this and that and reminded me of tragic mulatto, this mulatoo that wanted to be accepted as white and hid her black identity so she can marry and have sex with a white man. look at her, she cannot even pass as white, her eyes are big, her lips are spouty, nose, not prominent. the only thing that make her look mix is her light skinned

  • Your point about that movie would be SOMEWHAT valid if Halle Berry were playing HERSELF in the movie. She was simply playing a "Black character" who happened to be married to a "White character". They weren't taking into consideration Halle's real-life parentage when they casted these children into that role. Also, "look a little bit Whiter"? I'm biracial (East Asian/African origin), and not all biracial people look like the stereotype of a "mulatto". Even Halle's darker than many Black people.

  • I kinda get what she's saying, but I think it's summed up best this way: "We are trying to find a process that will make the Cosby children look black".

If you look at the old Westerns the Indian woman had blue eyes and white skin and looked NOTHING like a Native American, Hollywood still doesn't get it.

  • Good discussion, but I have to say that anyone ESPECIALLY BLACK PEOPLE born in this country (no matter how dark) is MIXED BLOOD due to our African female ancestors being raped by their slavemasters.

  • Amen ! That was SPOT ON. People need to SEE and ACCEPT the diversity between Africans. Because it is there

  • Fo ril mon, there are lotsa diffrent africans, ethiopians for example usually has lighter skin, n diffrent shape dey nose, iz just one example. And you hav de north-african people, arabs or wut u wanna call em. Buh also when juz thinkin bout dem black africans, they are very diffrent.

  • I agree with you,and it was proved that north Africans barbers are not mixed. You should look at my native peoples...they are as different like Ethiopians and Barbers.

  • The truth is is that technically we are all mixed. Most of us. If we go back in history and do a blood test we would all be quite surprised. There is no pure race!NOT ONE. Regardless of the phenotype, we are all related. The way you look on the outside is simply characteristics that you inherent, however, it is not true that if those genes are dominant thats all you are. Alot of people claim to be PURE this , do some DNA and I bet that alot would be shocked to find out something different.

  • Those are just my opinions. Everyone has them as you can see from the other 40 comments here.

BTW Great video tho and I respect your views on this topic.

  • And I am not saying I agree with the one drop rule or not. Because in Latin America it is even more complexed then here in the U.S.

In Brazil you would not be considered black at all.

  • my dear, this is not about looks it goes deeper than that

  • Well I am not saying what your saying is not true but I am saying that African Genes are Dominate. There is no getting away from that. So are you guys trying to get your other side to accept you? Because I will be honest with you. Must Italians do not like blacks. Even though they have black in them(the Moors). Funny thing is some blacks love the Italian Gang culture. But many of them(NOT ALL) do not like us.Italians even have a name they call black people.

  • Your right. I dont know about the whole giving respect thing. That is a matter of opinion really. But like I said before really when you look at most AAs we could say the same thing really. Now I am medium brown skin. But if you see my grandmother it is very obvious I have white ancestors. My great great grandfather was mulatto according to her.

I think it just comes down to all people of color wanting white people's approval. Personal I have no need for it.

  • no i don't feel the need for white people's approval or AAs for that matter.i am me and that is where i have gotten a lot of flack.because i accept my mother as much as my father. my grandmother claimed to be black but her father was a full blooded chippewa but she's also pushing mid 70 so diff times call for diff expectations. i wish we all could be catogorized as human but as long as there are boxes i will identify as bi-racial.

  • @nmr20067

I'm not sure about that 70% statistic. I'd like to know your source on that one. But 100% of whites have African ancestory, and the reason for that is because Africa is where all human life began... and that my dear, is an anthropological fact.

  • @nmr20067 If I saw Obama I would assume he has white ancestry from looking at him. I think what many people not expect is that he has parents that are directly of two different races. Usually FGM(first generational mixed) biracials, or many of them may be assumed to be light skinned blacks or like other blacks. But I think what it is is that people are not open to or not thinking in terms of people being mixed but in the racial binarism dynamic. I would assume that people think of black as MGM

  • could this be because the dominant gene is the black gene?

  • No real evidence, really just white people don't want nothing to do with us. White's see us as tainted. And its all just opinion. Physically we're 50% of both. You could tell that easily if you compared us to a black person from Africa.

  • Xneloangelo you seem very angry. I am mixed and I love all of my various hertiages equally.

  • Heritage(s).

  • Well, we don't really know how a person will look when mixed. It is across the board. I don't get into the quarter this 1/3 that and 1/2 this or that. I think it is a waste of time to say what someone would look like. I know many dark skinned Africans with a white parent. So let us not get into the silly ness of mixture.

  • im also biracial....sorry but looking at the girl in the video looks black 2 me her features hair and skin complexion is that of a black woman yeah u r lighter skinned but still black...alot of times people do not know what i am but i identify myself as black...its always the ones that look more african try so hard 2 get away from that label whats the big deal...u people r pathetic

  • thanks! i'm so glad you enjoy them. tho obama was raised in hawaii, his mother is a white woman from kansas, so he is black and white.

  • I agree. with wood490.

  • What I love is that everyone seems to forget how Obama was raised, his father left and Obama was raised by his white mother and grandparents. The reason white people voted for him is because he was raised in a middleclass white environment and they felt that they could relate to him.

  • @tiffdjones You are a filty NIGER. Stupid also - you seem to think you are intelligent, however you are just a NIGER. If I ever saw you I would spit in your mouth.

  • So in your opionion even a blonde-haired blue-eyed light-skinned quadroon would be black? :O

  • Yes, I have met numerous black people with light colored eyes and sandy colored hair, but it is still quite obvious they are black.

  • @RaneciaVidvixen08, just because he has a beautiful Black family, calls himself "African American" on the census form, and some others only refer to him as "Black", doesn't make it so. Biological/genetic science reflect the truth of his biracial nature. A duck can call itself an ostrich, and some others can agree that he's an ostrich, but that doesn't stop that duck from being a duck ;)

  • @RaneciaVidvixen08 What are you talking about??? Obama was born in Hawaii to a white mother from Kansas, USA and a "black" father from Kenya/Africa.

LMFAO @ when you said he is Hawaiian

  • this is some HITLER SHIT !!!!

Blacks have not died for ALL BLACK COLORS so that we divide between my Black race......

we as Black & Mulattos need to unite...

  • Arab is not really a race dumb ass.

  • it is confusing. embrace it anyway. that's how we really remember who we are, i think. just because people see me as black doesn't mean i will ignore the rest to make them happy or right. I know i'm black. everyday the world tells me so. it's the other stuff that's harder to hold onto and i think that is sad and would like to change it.

  • SO TRUE!

  • Throughout BLack History, people considered biracial have been deeply involved in pro-black movements so I considered them black in the political sense. I recognize everyone's right for self-definition, but i'm a bit mystified at the whole "i can't deny one parent" mantra. That parent may indeed be a wonderful person, but whites still occupy a position of privilege in this society and why biracials seem to want to identify with or ignore this is beyond me.

  • it goes beyond denying a parent for me. i believe that there is the imprint of experience that is passed down through generations. i have the stamp of the both the "black" and the "white" experience. i will not deny or ignore that because i look black and people need to define me that way.

  • Thank you as a black/latina I was raised by a single mother who was latina, I like to tell people that I was raised eating chicharrones vs. chitlins.

There are many biracial children who were raised outside of the black experience but who look black, just as there are those who look white but were raised out of the white experience, I believe that many people are identifying with their cultural experiences and that is why they are choosing that particular race to identify with.

  • I don't want to sound rude but what exactly do you mean by the "black or white experience?" It sounds like you are generalizing.

  • Just because you are half black does not mean that you were raised around black people and just because you are half white does not mean that you were raised around white people.

I look like a black person but was not raised around any black people, my cultural identity tends to be hispanic/latina because that is the culture in which my mother raised me in.

I wasn't generalizing please read the entire comment.

  • Black people don't have only one culture that's the point. By lumping together what you deem the black or white experience sounds like a generalization because not all black or white people have the same upbringing. That's all I was trying to get across. It doesn't matter what a person identifies with. Obviously like you said whatever they are raised around is what you will likely identify with. What I don't get is why you're forced to choose sides anyway.

  • Look I'm not saying that all black people have the same fricking culture but there is a difference between Latin Culture and Black Culture and I wasn't raised in the black part, in any way.

I was "forced" to choose sides because I was raised in New Mexico and the amount of black people in Santa Fe could be counted on two hands, when I am asked on questionaires what do I consider myself I say I consider myself Latina because that is the culture that I was raised in, no need to get hostile.

  • 3rd category misses the point. He chose to marry a black woman and father black children. He chose to attend the radically black Trinity church and he knows that wherever he goes, people see a BLACK MAN. I see now, from watching several videos on biracial perspective, that many want to be separate from black and white, or not black/not white or various permutations, but i think it defeats the point of choice. Obama has chosen to be what he is and what WHITE americans call him.

  • good point. i'm not clear how i feel about it myself. i don't want a third category. i won't choose one or the other, tho obviously black is the only choice i could make if i had to. i guess i want no categories at all because from where i sit race is a fallacy created to keep some at the top and some at the bottom. people are people.

  • I can appreciate that biracial people have a monumental struggle with identity as they mature, especially in american culture which is rigidly segregated despite the civil rights movement. I'm somewhat irritated by attempts to categorize Obama as "biracial" and "just as black as he is white", etc. It's clear that the man has had a struggle and has chosen to identify as a BLACK MAN despite his genotype. Both his books recount his identity struggly and continuing to place him in some isolated

  • guess i'ma have to read those books now :)

  • I'm mixed and my husband is black and our youngest son looks white. DNA is funny. You never know what you're going to get.

  • We need those racial lines...

  • maybe you do, but i don't nor do i think "we" do

  • Well as you stated i dont consider mulattoes black, see we need that line so some folks wont cross it. I know i know som e mulsttoes cant pass but to me theyre still arent black...

  • maybe i misunderstand you. why do you want racial lines and why shouldn't some folks cross them?

  • I'm a little surprised to know that you paid so much attention to the those details in that movie. I figured you to be young and bright but...Wow!

  • thanks agewise! how have you been?

  • Good and busy for the most part...thanks for asking. I hope things R well or better for you. If you don't mind how old R U anyway?

  • I'm 31. It's not a secret anymore. Don't know if you're still watching, so I thought i'd reply again :)

  • @tiffdjones : Hi, this is so true...I'm mixed with 7 different races but I have curly hair and more dark complected than you. I am Cherokee, Wampanoag, Irish, German, Punjabi Indian (as in India), Indonesian and African...I have a higher percentage of Indian and Indonesian than any of the other races combined b/c 5 of the races come from my mom's sides; whereas, two come from my dad's side (Indian & Indonesian)...ppl expect me to say I'm just black b/c of my complexion...

  • @leogirls11 1. ) How are you mixed with 7 different races when there are only 3 ? There's Black, Asian, and White everything else is just a mixture of 2 of those 3 or all 3 of those 3. Who told you there were seven different races LOL Any Native American Blood is considered Asian. Native Americans are of Asian descent Punjabi Indian is still of Asian descent, Indonesian is also of Asian descent .

  • @leogirls11 2 .) Irish and German are obviously white I'm all for multiracial identity, but no one has 7 races in them .

  • @BiracialGirl1977 : UMMMMM, HELLO lol...but white and black are COLORS...Being Asian refers to the REGION YOU ARE FROM...like Americans (no matter what race they are) ARE AMERICANS...if you mean being WHITE "IT WOULD ACTUALLY BE OF EUROPEAN DESCENT"...I'm mixed with 7 different ETHNICITIES...Don't call me a crayon color...

  • @BiracialGirl1977 :East India, Indonesia are Asian COUNTRIES BUT THE PEOPLE ARE NOT ALL THE SAME ETHNICITY (them being ASIAN means their homeland is located in ASIA)...Womponoag, and Cherokee are of Asian descent but they ARE AMERICANS B/C NATIVES WERE THE 1ST TO ARRIVE IN AMERICA....Irish and German are two different ethnic groups but they are both EUROPEAN...know your stuff and don't argue a case you don't even understand

  • tiffdjones you are so *beautiful! And what you are saying in this video is to factual! Please continue to educate the ignorant & dumb about biracial people!
