  • Oh, so a flying broom is quite within the laws of nature...

Then again I believe that whoever allows himself to be brainwashed, has a very low IQ. I think that smart people watch movies to have fun or to relax etc. I have noticed though that people in the States tend to believe such things quite easily... (I'm not being mean or anything just pointing out a fact). You and your girlfriend seem quite down to earth though. So why bother criticizing something that is make believe? You can obviously

  • @Taschaxify That's a fantasy concept, so I'm excluding it from that argument. I don't particularly like the HP series.

I'm criticizing it because I don't believe it deserves the success it's attained based on it's quality. There is a lot of stuff out there that's of much better quality, but isn't given the glory it deserves because it's overshadowed by stuff like Twilight that steals the spotlight with something that appeals to a select, though large audience.

  • @DreamTiger5 Ok I'll give you that. But it isn't the saga's fault that other stuff gets overshadowed. I mean I really love supernatural, (you know with jared padalecky and jensen ackles) But here in Greece they cut it just to replace it with other series that I don't particularly like and in some instances actually quite dislike. But then again I know that most people in Greece like real heavy drama, so that's what they get. Who am I to criticize that? I don't characterize them (even though you

  • could call them melodramatic :)

  • Look, just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's stupid. Other people may find things that you are interested in, quite stupid. Tastes differ, as you probably already know. I'm not an obsessive fan of the twilight saga, but I liked the books more than the movies.

  • @Taschaxify I'm already well aware of that, but we're talking about a poorly written, over-hyped series with a linear and weak storyline, shallow characters, and unexplained logic that goes against all laws of reality. Stephanie Meyer is an amateur, and the only reason she gets published is because the publishers realized Bella is essentially an empty shell any girl that's gone through puberty can put themselves in the role as, making it addictive and thus easy to sell.

  • @DreamTiger5 I will disagree with you on your opinion about the series being comprised of shallow characters, unexplained logic and weak storyline. This is clearly fiction so it needn't be logical and correspond with the laws of reality. Actually when I watch movies that correspond with reality I usually get bored and fall asleep, but then again that's just me. I won't criticize people who make those movies nor will I criticize the people who watch them.

  • @Taschaxify Give me 5 good reasons for Bella and Edward to be in love, and 5 more reasons Jacob likes Bella.

The story is too linear with no major plot twists, no character development, and an underlying (though possibly unintentional) anti-feminist message.

Fiction still needs some correlation to reality. Renesmee is a continuity error; she develops and grows way too fast to make any sense given her father doesn't age at all. I can understand normal or slower growth, not faster.

  • @DreamTiger5 ok just so that I don't confuse my answers I'm going to number them :)

    1. Do you need a specific reason to be in love with your girlfriend? Does she?

    2. I'll give you the one about Jacob (I find that quite obsessive and not at all normal) :)

    3. I generally dislike romance novels/movies, yet I cannot explain why I liked the twilight saga.

    4. Personally, I don't believe there was an anti - feminist message, you could say though that the movie depicts the character women have

  • @Taschaxify 1) Yes. Loving someone unconditionally doesn't work. Without something solid to base that love on, it will eventually fall apart when you're tested by the harshness of reality.

    3) I explained part of why the series is so appealing to women in "Twilight = RPG?". I'll put the link to the rest in it's description.

    4) Bella does all the housework for her dad, doesn't speak up for herself, and is over-dependent on Edward. Women have had the legal freedom to do otherwise for years.

  • @DreamTiger5 at least from the male point of view.

Next you could say that due to some genetic defect, Bella's genes and Edwards genes produced the exact opposite of what you would expect.

    Also, it's just a movie.

I'll ask you this: Have you seen Hostel? Do you believe it's fiction or fact? Do you believe it has a correlation to reality? Or Harry Potter, Or lord of the rings etc I'll tell you this hostel is not only close to reality, it actually is real in some countries.

  • @Taschaxify It's not just a movie; the entire series is a disgrace to literature that has brainwashed thousands, millions of girls and grown women alike, turning them into raving fanatics that put up brick walls the instant someone speaks out against it.

I have not seen Hostel, so I don't know. Fantasy concepts aside, Harry Potter and LotR still act within the laws of nature. It is not natural to have a full-grown adult from scratch in less than 8 years.

And what's from the male point of view?

  • u dont have a girlfriend

  • @lilweezy1187 Considering she lives 1000 miles away, it's difficult for me to prove and not just sound like a stalker, but it's true. I'll just leave it at that.

Please use proper grammar and punctuation, and stay on topic when posting on my videos. It would be much appreciated.

  • @lilweezy1187

Wow, I hate it when people claim I don't exist. Really puts a bummer on my day.
