I wasn't here this day but I was at that years open, We are also from his old home center. I was lucky enought to see his first 300 when he bowled in the YABA
Wow, I bowled with Don Moser when I was about 12. I remember seeing his name on the top 24 multiple times, but I never saw him on TV. Thanks for posting!
Don misses the 2pin for a spare just after Bo Burton says it's a good shot. Bo, you SUCK! Chris should've punched you in the head MMA style multiple times for that!
Woodlawn is still open. They have new pinsetters too. They also got rid of the long ball returns and they now have HPL lanes. Thank god they kept the wood approaches.
The pinsetters at Fair Lanes/AMF Woodlawn are indeed vintage AMF 82-30 setters, and just 45 miles west of me here in Port Townsend, Washington is Laurel Lanes in Port Angeles, and as of the last time I went there (2003) they still had the 82-30's, as well as vintage (circa-1950s-60s) AMF "Magic Triangle" maskings and ball returns, but I heard rumors earlier this year that they were going to remodel that 16-lane center, and completely at that. I'll see next time I go in there to practice.
Those are indeed 30's Wolf. The one piece sweep could be used on both 70's and 30's, but with 30's an extra piece was needed to mount them. Same sweep with the black one piece but TOTALLY different mechanically, different mechanical setup and even sweeping motion
You know, I actually thought about that after I posted this message, and yes, the following year's tournament (which was the infamous Del Ballard gutterball tournament, btw) may very well have been held at a different Fair Lanes facility.

My dad has an old "Hammer Blue" in our basement, it was "THE" ball in sweden, back in the early 90's. It's the same ball as Danny is throwing here.

In this match looks a AMF 82-30 because when the camera was close to the pins, you see a full rack in the top

Are those AMF 82-30 pinsetters? cause they seem to have the same sweep as 82-70's.
Nice upload Keith! I'm sure Danny himself would like to see this :D

I will let Danny know....he will cringe when he sees his ex on there, but it will more than be made up by his late father being shown.

Then they had Brunswick GS pinsetters the following year!!!
vanni9283 3 years ago
Didn't they go to a different Fair Lanes center the next year? Coulda sworn they had blue masking units in Randallstown in 1991.

And also - $100,000 and a Corvette for 300? Pretty nice.

Wow, Wiseman's form has changed hasn't it? lol Thanx!!

Much more "Holman-esque" way back when, especially with the shorter back swing, the same long slide and a little bit more cup in the wrist.

@StickTweedles87 What is with the huge eye frames of his eye glasses?
