I had Ginrai when I was little (almost as old as my son is now, he also plays with that toy), though the European version was called "Optimus Prime" and didn't have the second trailer... Seeing your version has a second trailer kinda makes me jealous! BTW, I raise my son as a Transformers fan! :P

if i understand correctly ginrai was human just like a group of other powermasters and they found something called transectors that in the case of the autobot transectors later became transformers in their own respect after seperating from the humans

I own the original Powermaster Prime as well as this rerelease. And as a word of warning be careful forming the legs for the plain Prime/Ginrai due to the fact the plastic seems soft and not much in the way of reinforcement

The newer Optimus Prime figure that is available through Hasbro (its like the platinum or something) has full articulation. This figure blows, regardless if its Ginrai or Optimus.

God Ginrai makes a nice display peice, that is for sure, he sits on top of my bookcase as God Ginrai thou gathering dust, he sill looks cool espaically compared against some of the later Optimus combiners, Ginrai just stands out as wicked cool!

I think this is one of the best figures from the latter half of G1 because of all the playability that it has. there's 5 vehicle combinations, 5 robot modes (including ginrai/hi-Q), and a battle station. Simply beautiful. I just have one question, Why prey tell does you're Takara Ginrai cab have the Hasbro Shortened smokestacks?

nope. I've got mine sitting right here, and they were longer stacks. It's not impossible that the person you bought it from may have tried to substitute a reissue and put it in a vintage box. You may check the figures for a manufacturing year on the trademark stamp. It looks to me as though it might be the Hasbro Reissue Semi Truck. However, on the other hand, the missile for God Bomber is short which leans more toward being vintage. The reissue had elongated missiles (per U.S. safety rules).
