Hello Scotty, I have blue smoke comming out my tail pipe, the car is a 92 3000gt vr4, everyone is telling me its the valve stem seals, i also have oil all over my plugs, will this stuff help any, a valve job is like 17 hrs on this car not very fun at all, anyways i enjoy your videos there all very helpfull thanks...
great videos scotty, how much atp fluid do i need for a powersteering leak? and will this work with a leaky timing belt cover? my mechanic didnt put it back correctly...
@scottykilmer Yeah. I have an 90 Acura Integra that's burning quite a bit of oil. I was just wondering. I'm getting a new motor within the week. Thanks for the info though!
I am a Transmission rebuilder.... Take the time and effort replace the bad seal... If you put that in the system you swell every seal internally causing way more damage then it the seal is temporarily fixes Yuck
@fireyavalanche1 this is NOT a seal sweller, it rejuvenates the rubber instead. Many sealers do swell em, but this is not one of them. Of course if you have the time or money, replace the seals mechanically, but sometimes that can cost thousand bucks or more if you have to pull an engine.
hey scotty my truck has an oil leak I can't find. I thought it was a crack in the oil pan, but when I cleaned it off nothing leaked from anywhere. when it is full (5qt.), it will leak about 1/2 of it out over about 30min just sitting. then after wiping the oil pan off, it didn't start leaking again until the next time I drove it. the whole underbody, trans and oil pan are coverd in oil, and there is some oil on the passenger valve cover, but it never looks fresh. rear main seal?
I must admit I was skeptical about using this but you seem so genuine that I thought I'd give it a try. I had a leaking transmission on my 2002 ford zx2 and it fixed it! Been 2 years now and no leaks. Thanks.
do you think this will work on the top valve seal of a 207 toyota camry(60,000)? it is burning 2 qrts of oil every 5000 miles. a friend told me their is good chance its the top valve seals. thx wilson
@scottykilmer I have an 86 305 tpi trans am that has the main rear seal leak from the factory it did it, Would this help the 26 year old o ring seal on there?
can you tell me if you have any experience of the White shepherd stop leak additive?? It's the only one I'm able to get hold of in my part of the world and I wondfered if it's as effective as AT-205??
I will NEVER clean out my garage, I like it messy, tons of stuff in there. But I do throw stuff out every so many years and find all kinds of interesting stuff.
would this be enough to put in both engine and transmisson? its a minor leak not sure which one it is but it's just a sealer. so would that one bottle do?
@scottykilmer ok thanks i just ordered a bottle. nd its coming from the transmission seal area, i wiped it with a paper towel and was red. minor leak. hopefully it does the job.
Hi scotty, I was wondering if the AT 205 is a good idea if I am already going to put the lucas slip stop transmission fix in to my automatic transmission?
@brandon1997bmx prob 80-90weight gear oil and if you really want to know it it is posi jack it up spin the tires if both go the same direction when you spin its posi if the go opposite its a regular diff and that 80-90 weight is good in both posi and reg i hope this helps
hi scotty, can it fix the transmission oil leak for sure as this wil b ma first time to do anything on my car. its very noisy when i crank up the engine and turn the steering left right... steering oil is always topped up but transmission oil leaks...
Hope this works for me.. My accord has a bad seal my mechanic says so I ordered 2 bottles of this for my tranny an motor oil .. If it doesn't cure the motor oil leak.. Is there a high possibility I have a bad gasket??
Scotty, I got 96 front wheel drive AT. My driver inner axle to tranny and oil pan still leaks oil after replacing the outer tranny seal. My engine still running great. Will this ruin my car engine if I put 205 into oil. thanks
@scottykilmer great! Because when I went to do all the work, I managed to get all of the pieces off except a little metal boot that was screwed into the transaxle. I could not get it off. So I hope this works!
@presario2100us then you have to crawl under, get a pump, and pump it into the transmission using the drain plug (yea, real crap design there, I agree.)
awesome to know. wish i knew before i already changed the transmission seal of a montero sport. had to remove trans. it has small engine leak too, will try this 205 for the motor.
Scotty can I put AT 205 in my Honda when it its oil level is full, or do I have to drain some of the oil first? Your videos are great! Thanks for all the tips!
@scottykilmer Scotty, I'm about to try AT 205 on a floor jack that's leaking from shaft that handle is attached to (tighten/loosen) oil just comes up through there; would it work?
Hi Scotty, I have a 2001 CR-V 5-spd with 156,000 mi. There's a leak around the rear main seal so I've been checking every 300 km or so and filling up to half way with 10W40 higher mileage oil (snake oil?). I read that overfilling can ruin seals so I add oil to just above low. Would Lucas Engine Oil Stop Leak (available here at Canadian Tire) really be worth a try? Should I be worried about changing the oil with this leak (it got worse after I did last time)?
@nikkiwest15 I never used CD2, I don't know. At 205 works great on oil seal leaks. But nothing fixes oil gasket leaks but replacing them. I would assume oil gasket leaks if it's smoking, as that drips on the exhaust. Scotty
i was coming back to this vid to ask u if i needed to chg the oil after putting the 205 in...found my answer without asking. damn, i noticed that ur answering the same questions over & over & over again. u have alot of patience. thanx...i'm about to use this tomorrow. i live in tx & this is not available anywhere around here...did amazon & got it in two days. anyway, wish me luck with my minor rear main eng seal...& thx again scotty
Scotty, If you use AT-205 AFTER an oil change, how much do you put in, does this depend on the size of the crankcase? Also, when using AT-205 in a spray bottle to revitalize rubber weatherstripping, what proportion of water to AT-205 do you use, it's not clear in the video or did I miss it?
nice....btw i went ahead and experimented with this ... and i added a little of at205 and some marvel mystery oil to my engine oil ..... and then added some engine restore to try and fix my piston blow by and i was shocked to see my plugs were dry in less than 50 miles ....... lol
@GamerBR the whole bottle in a car holding 4 quarts. Dilute that according to what you bike uses, but in the case of my bike, I would need more as it holds 5 1/2 quarts of oil being a racing motorcycle. Scotty
Does this product require heat to make it work. I have a rototiller and the oil leaks from the oil seals on the tyne part and I am not sure it will get hot enough to allow the AT205 to work. Would you have any ideas about that?
This will work just fine in a Manuel tranny wont it? everytime I park my car after a long drive their is oil driping and its looks like its running off of the front part of my tranny I think this is a rear main seal but im know mechanic.
1 kinda weird question... i believe i have worn piston rings on 2 cylinders cause the spark plugs in those 2 were soaked in oil.... and i was wondering if i pour a very small amount of this at-205 stuff in the spark plug holes overnight, and then add a bottle to the engine oil in the morning...then drive it around for a while... you think that might help in anyway??? or is there no cure for worn rings???
Hey Scotty ,could i use this stuff on a two stroke to fix a magneto side crank seal ?
I realise that all 2 stroke cranks seals dont use oil inside the crankcase so cant mix this in with existing oil but could i try letting some off this stuff 'sit' on the seal by tipping the engine so crank nose is vertical if you see what i mean ,just let it pool there for a few days ...it might swell the seal ?
@RAT1969 It doesn't swell seals, it rejuvenates the rubber on the seal. Swelling seal stuff just makes the leaks bigger after a while. You could try, especially if you have a small engine where you could tilt the whole thing and let it sit hours that way. Scotty
@boogie327 it will do nothing to a leaking oil pan, it only fixes oil seal leaks, not oil gasket leaks. But they work great on transfer case seal leaks. scotty
@4runner666 I always wondered if anyone would notice that. BUT, there is something I do every once in a while that not one of the over 8 million viewers have yet noticed. See if you can figure it out, I'm always putting little sneakers in here and there just to see. Scotty
@Choirboyjr11 this is one of them, steel seal is another, I have a video on that, but most additives are a crock and a waste of money. Just change your oil regularly and the coolant regularly to prevent problems in the first place. Scotty
To prove the people saying that it fucks the gaskets wrong, why don't you make a quick video with a dried up gasket before and after leaving it submerged on the product, for let's say, two weeks?
This product is amazing....Within the last 30 mins ups dropped off my order of at-205 re-seal. I put 1.25 bottles worth in my engine oil and after a 20 drive my timing chain quit make noises. Not that it was terrible before hand but now there is no sound at all
Hey scotty, I was told that my power steering pump was leaking power steering fluid, would this product work? Also would it help any on valve guide seals that have just started to go out?
@howitzer21794 I got an pyroil product from pep boys, that stops leakage and the whole nine yards for 4 bucks. so ill try that first. because that groaning sound i was hearing from my fronts wheels were overbearing lol.
can u use this stuff on turbo seals scotty.think mines on its way out.got oil coming out intercooler! would busted turbo oil seals be the cause of this
@reachforacreech It is not bullshit, it does not tighten a spring up, it rejuvenates rubber seals. I've been using it decades and am still amazed by the stuff. If there's anything left of the lip on an oil seal, it will work. Scotty
@scottykilmer well unless theres micro robots in there.theres not going to be any building of the seal.the only thing i can think it does it expand the excisting rubber which wont be a long term fix
@reachforacreech It does not expand it, it makes the rubber more pliable. I've been using this stuff for decades, and know it works. If you don't believe it, that's your loss if you get an oil seal seal that requires pullling the engine out to replace. The stuff still amazes me. Now brake fluid put in oil, yes, that does swell seals and doesn't last long. But this is a polymer that really works. Scotty
@PathlessNomad It could help some, but valve seals are inside a hot engine and often need replacing when worn out, as the valves often tear them. Scotty
Scotty, my 1991 Ford Tempo Gl is leaking oil from what appears to be the Front Main Seal on the Crankshaft. We Have replaced the oil pan gasket and changed the oil.But it is still leaking oil, would the At-205 Re Seal bottle help ? also, where would i pour the At 205 into ? the regular motor oil ? or the Transmission oil ?
Hello Scotty, I have blue smoke comming out my tail pipe, the car is a 92 3000gt vr4, everyone is telling me its the valve stem seals, i also have oil all over my plugs, will this stuff help any, a valve job is like 17 hrs on this car not very fun at all, anyways i enjoy your videos there all very helpfull thanks...

@mjt11860 yes, valve cover seals, but no on valve cover gaskets. Scotty

tranny , power steering, engine...works in all those, right??
MrAnthony78666 3 months ago
@MrAnthony78666 yep, just don't put it into the brake system. scotty

Does this product require heat to make it work. I have a rototiller and the oil leaks from the oil seals on the tyne part and I am not sure it will get hot enough to allow the AT205 to work. Would you have any ideas about that?
oknwht 3 months ago
@oknwht it has nothing to do with heat, it soaks on the seals and rejuvenates the rubber. If those seals are rubber seals, it can help. Scotty
scottykilmer 3 months ago
This will work just fine in a Manuel tranny wont it? everytime I park my car after a long drive their is oil driping and its looks like its running off of the front part of my tranny I think this is a rear main seal but im know mechanic.

@rex669 yes. Scotty

1 kinda weird question... i believe i have worn piston rings on 2 cylinders cause the spark plugs in those 2 were soaked in oil.... and i was wondering if i pour a very small amount of this at-205 stuff in the spark plug holes overnight, and then add a bottle to the engine oil in the morning...then drive it around for a while... you think that might help in anyway??? or is there no cure for worn rings???

ghhostrider 3 months ago
@ghhostrider no,that won't help at all, the engine is too far gone, piston rings are metal and nothing seals that. Scotty

BTW love your vids they're cool as !
RAT1969 3 months ago
@RAT1969 It doesn't swell seals, it rejuvenates the rubber on the seal. Swelling seal stuff just makes the leaks bigger after a while. You could try, especially if you have a small engine where you could tilt the whole thing and let it sit hours that way. Scotty

Scotty, Can this be purchased at a local automotive store?
pantera991 3 months ago
@pantera991 I get it at amazon.com, as it's hard to find. Scotty

Hi Scotty. A couple of questions. Can this stuff be used in a leaking oil pan on a 98 civic and can it be used on a leaking transfer case
boogie327 3 months ago
@boogie327 it will do nothing to a leaking oil pan, it only fixes oil seal leaks, not oil gasket leaks. But they work great on transfer case seal leaks. scotty

@4runner666 I always wondered if anyone would notice that. BUT, there is something I do every once in a while that not one of the over 8 million viewers have yet noticed. See if you can figure it out, I'm always putting little sneakers in here and there just to see. Scotty

Would this help with a small leak i have on the rear main seal on the engine? or would it get worse
killabee795 4 months ago
@killabee795 yes, if can often stop them entirely. Scotty
scottykilmer 4 months ago
hey Scotty can you do a video on additive and stop leaks you believe in?
Choirboyjr11 4 months ago
@Choirboyjr11 this is one of them, steel seal is another, I have a video on that, but most additives are a crock and a waste of money. Just change your oil regularly and the coolant regularly to prevent problems in the first place. Scotty

does this stuff really work or is it internet rip off
hawk94chevy 4 months ago
@hawk94chevy hey, believe what you want. I'm not selling the stuff, I just use it to fix oil seal leaks. do as you please. Scotty
scottykilmer 4 months ago
To prove the people saying that it fucks the gaskets wrong, why don't you make a quick video with a dried up gasket before and after leaving it submerged on the product, for let's say, two weeks?
GamerBR 4 months ago
@GamerBR I know it works, so I don't care if people don't believe me. Their loss, I'm just trying to help people out. Scotty

Where can i buy this stuff at?
Does autozone or pepboys sell it?
Thanks

This product is amazing....Within the last 30 mins ups dropped off my order of at-205 re-seal. I put 1.25 bottles worth in my engine oil and after a 20 drive my timing chain quit make noises. Not that it was terrible before hand but now there is no sound at all
howitzer21794 4 months ago
Hey scotty, I was told that my power steering pump was leaking power steering fluid, would this product work? Also would it help any on valve guide seals that have just started to go out?
howitzer21794 4 months ago
@howitzer21794 I got an pyroil product from pep boys, that stops leakage and the whole nine yards for 4 bucks. so ill try that first. because that groaning sound i was hearing from my fronts wheels were overbearing lol.

Any videos on resealing turbo scotty.

@mickbroon1 Not yet, I don't work on many any more. Scotty
scottykilmer 4 months ago
can u use this stuff on turbo seals scotty.think mines on its way out.got oil coming out intercooler! would busted turbo oil seals be the cause of this
mickbroon1 4 months ago
@mickbroon1 yes, you can, but realize turbos create a lot of pressure and often they need resealing with seal kits. Scotty
scottykilmer 4 months ago
so what your saying is.this liquid is going to make a metal spring tighten up in the seal?
sounds like bullshit
reachforacreech 4 months ago
@reachforacreech It is not bullshit, it does not tighten a spring up, it rejuvenates rubber seals. I've been using it decades and am still amazed by the stuff. If there's anything left of the lip on an oil seal, it will work. Scotty
scottykilmer 4 months ago
@scottykilmer well unless theres micro robots in there.theres not going to be any building of the seal.the only thing i can think it does it expand the excisting rubber which wont be a long term fix
reachforacreech 4 months ago
@reachforacreech It does not expand it, it makes the rubber more pliable. I've been using this stuff for decades, and know it works. If you don't believe it, that's your loss if you get an oil seal seal that requires pullling the engine out to replace. The stuff still amazes me. Now brake fluid put in oil, yes, that does swell seals and doesn't last long. But this is a polymer that really works. Scotty

PathlessNomad 4 months ago
I have a 93 4.3l sierra iit smokes on start up and while idling I beleive this is from leaking valve guides will this work?
PathlessNomad 4 months ago
@PathlessNomad It could help some, but valve seals are inside a hot engine and often need replacing when worn out, as the valves often tear them. Scotty
scottykilmer 4 months ago
Scotty, my 1991 Ford Tempo Gl is leaking oil from what appears to be the Front Main Seal on the Crankshaft. We Have replaced the oil pan gasket and changed the oil.But it is still leaking oil, would the At-205 Re Seal bottle help ? also, where would i pour the At 205 into ? the regular motor oil ? or the Transmission oil ?
panchitotc 4 months ago
@panchitotc you pour it in the oil that's leaking, if it's engine oil, pour it in the engine oil add tube. Scotty
