HOWEVER, that being said, even though she's pushing 50 and damaged her voice box, I really think, that if she doesn't rush it, it will heal almost to where it was. Except for the age difference, it may be alittle off. But I don't think, it would be noticeable. You can still hear good solid parts in her voice, which generally means complete recovery.

She's still a good singer BUT she can't sing like she used to. This is an averange performance, but still way better than any performance from singers like Rihanna, Britney, Kesha and (to an extend) Gaga. Today we have better vocalists like Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, and even Adele.
@NausAllien Adele is a great singer. Christina is good but she messes up everything she sings and all her new music is bad. Beyonce can't sing like Whitney, not even in this. But that said, none of them will ever have what Whitney had.

I also think she did great at this performance. She didn't rush through the words as much as other performances and sang as many notes as possible which much better range. I'm glad she is attempting at extending herself farther than usual and singing how the song should be sang as it was produced. So glad! :)
If you ask me I think whitney did a really good job in this performance. Because compared with her recent comeback performances. Whitney actually tried to hold the notes and perform the song correcttly. She was of key slightley during peices of the song but finished with that beautiful saprano note she managed to hold towards the end. Great job whitney! keept up!

her voice is changed a lot. i thin that's contralto. it sounds darker, harder, knotty like tony braxton... but it still sweet.

yes, shes not as good as she was but there again everyone from those golden days are either dead (MJ) or aged terribly (Chuck Berry) so I guess shes still the best we've got :P Still better than the majority of 'singers' today

i think ppl are not get used that her voiced has changed. i first knew this singer is through this i look to you album and i was shocked to know she has an amazing voice that has a unique vibrato and different from what i listened from rihanna, beyonce lady gaga etc. then later i only found that she's the one who sang i will always love you and got many grammy's in her life. as a first listener of whitney houston even not in her prime i was totally shocked with her powerful vocal in i look to u

For her to decide on upward mobility and to quit using has given her more strength than anyone is ever going to understand. If you take all of that into consideration, you would know that this performance is actually EXTREMELY emotional and powerful.

Whitney Houston has only lost her range.. Not her actual voice... She can still sing.. Fair dues to her I think.. To have the courage to sing after what she went through mentally and physically... The voice is still there! :)

Why is it that other vocalists don't catch all the flack that WH is catching as she ages and changes her style and presents the present day Whitney? There are THOUSANDS of performers out there trying to imitate their youthful selves who sound just sad in their attempts. Folks ought to quit judging her admittedly poor personal choices, and appreciate her talent; she wasn't a stellar role model when she was singing during her peak popularity either. Wisdom is not a requirement for talent.

I also think she did great at this performance. She didn't rush through the words as much as other performances and sang as many notes as possible which much better range. I'm glad she is attempting at extending herself farther than usual and singing how the song should be sang as it was produced. So glad! :)

If you ask me I think whitney did a really good job in this performance. Because compared with her recent comeback performances. Whitney actually tried to hold the notes and perform the song correcttly. She was of key slightley during peices of the song but finished with that beautiful saprano note she managed to hold towards the end. Great job whitney! keept up!

Whitney is simply amazing at any age. I am very sorry about her prior lifestyle issues, but when it comes to singing she is Whitney Houston. Perhaps most people with what she went thru could not even sing, but listen to her; a great talent. She is saying to the rest of the entertainers, I have been thru alot and hear me sing. No need for auto tune here.

Do you think food critics can cook? that art critics can paint/sing/dance...? that sport critics can play the sports they judge?
