  • The strobe on towers arnt controlled by a computer system. Its controlled by a sensor. When it gets kind of dark it triggers the strobe on. theres no computer system. works like a motion sensor light.

  • Most of these Medivac flights are done for the purpose of billing the insurance company thousands of dollars for a helicopter flight. They're not really necessary--certainly not when you weigh it against the number of collateral deaths!

  • stangin209: You're wrong. The strobes on that tower are controlled by a computer system, and the strobes were working that night. I'm intimately familiar with that radio station. I worked there for nearly nine years. The pilot was flying way too low. In fact, that chopper flew directly over my house just three or four minutes before it crashed.

  • Too much relying on GPS... use your charts as well guys!!

  • 6th deadly helicopter crash in 2008? In a previous AP video they mention there were nine fatal med evac chopper crashes this year. Doesn't AP research their own videos? One death even came back to the living in the Flagstaff Arizona crash. AP didn't even know where Flagstaff was on a map. Makes me wonder what other stuff is made up er... 'reported' from AP.

  • some idiot left the light off on the tower
