I found out about them From Nirvana, decided to look them up, heard their music, thought it was great, decided Nirvana had great taste in music, and now most of the bands I know of I heard from Nirvana. My favorite Sonic Youth songs are Kool Thing, Dirty Boots, and Teenage Riot. 100% is really great too, as is Sugar Kane. Go check out their music videos. Sonic Youth were later influenced by Nirvana also.
