  • I have just watched your hree vidios on the basic angles required in sharpening the lathe tools. I have never seen such an excellent explanation as you have given. Your wood blocks demonstrate so clearly just what we are supposed to be aiming for. I will be watching more of your instruction as time permits. Thank You. Harvey

  • @Raykatzmar EBAY maybe???????

  • Sir, you're an awesome teacher, thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us.

  • The screwcutting tool thats being picked up and moved at 0:41, canyou still get those in the USA?

  • @raherecolston Maybe, check ebay.

  • Question: I understand the need to grind the top to compensate for the tool holder angle. However, are you still using the same side relief angles? Otherwise there is more steel underneath the cutting tip than with your gooseneck style holder. Or doesn't it matter?

  • Yes--I increased the side relief a little. But not too much or the very tip becomes to delicate.

  • Your a great teacher, I would like to see more this winter.

  • Excellent. Thanks for taking the time to teach.

    Bill.
