  • @Photoboothbasher22

  • GO KAZOOS!!! I play first part kazoo in my band.

  • @ArchangelAdnachiel ...what? a kazoo..

...what kind of a band do you play in..?

  • I guess I should say euphoniums T.C! Best part ever.

  • @taylovesmeat agree but i play euphonium B.C

  • Baritone T.C forever -3

  • Screw all of you. Precussion is best. The End

  • all these high schoolers arguing about music.

  • im playing this for my band concert...BARI SAXOPHONES FTW!

  • Read the poem in the description as the melody is first played in each movement, and then listen to the rest of the piece with that in mind :)

  • Last year i got invited to do an Honor Band and Frank Ticheli was the conductor.. He is an amazing man, many interesting things. Memory that will last a lifetime!

  • I play the Trumpet solo.

  • @SlayedYou25 Me too! Go SHS!!!

  • Chorale and Shaker Dance II???? Sounds just like it!

  • @udienowisay the composer of chorale and shaker dance based the shaker theme on Aaron Copland's Apalanchian Spring's "simple gifts" as i recall.

  • @271310104054 ah, thanks

  • I realised that made no sense, I meant that I like my part!

  • I'm playing clarinet in band, and we're playing this piece! Our concert is next week I'm like my part - 3rd clarinet :)

  • 2:56 - 3:00 i wish the crescendo was a lot bigger

  • i learned this song 2 sing b4 we 8 our lunch @ preschool lol

  • imma alto saxophone playa also! this piece is awesome

  • Got an Alto sax solo in this piece, it's so pretty :'3

  • it sounds like Shaker Variants by elliot del borgo.... O.O

  • We can thank the three remaining shakers in the world fro this great tune.

  • im from SMS middle skool and we have 2 sing the song 4 choir

  • @whitesideblack sms? swanson?

  • @JKjr328 sierramont middle skool

  • our upperclass man played it last year in our field show

  • Sang this song AND played it on French Horn in performance. Every time I hear that trumpet solo I just want to cry from the nostalgia. Ticheli's best piece for sure.

  • Playing the percussion for this song was so hard because of all breaks. OnO; I kept missing the snare and triange parts.

My favorite thing about this song was when the baritone sax came in at the end with the four notes repeating itself, going up. OuO

  • I love when the low voices come in with the counter melody in the end.

  • how do you sing that fast?

  • The "French" horn is actually German

  • @AzNbOiJayJ ur also wrong it's actually English in origin.

  • @trumpetsownu94 oh the irony

  • @trumpetsownu94 You're* and no it is not, the ancestor of the horn may have been English, but the actual french horn is German. Get your facts straight :)

  • @AzNbOiJayJ im not going to argue with somebody who clearly didn't check his facts first. Got better things to do, and anyway trumpet is still superior.

  • @trumpetsownu94 Ah a trumpet I see... I see that trumpet ego is very apparent.

  • Playing this on the best intsrument of course zeee French Horn!

  • Playing this on the best intsrument of course zeee French Horn!

  • Our band class never sounds this good. This recording is marvelous.

  • @realOGtalk911 You're just full of bullshit!

  • French Horn all the way! Playing this Tomorrow at my CMEA both movement 3 and 4.

  • Seriously. Sure we can make the points that simple gifts was around before Copland, but in the end, this is just a cheap way of selling his music--by dumbing down a Copland arrangement.

  • Copland-Tichelli.

  • Euphoniums after the chorale! LOVE IT!

  • Euphoniums in the middle! LOVE IT!

  • this song sounds a lil bit like a peice called Shaker Varients by Elliot del Borgo

  • Piccolo<3333333333333

    So much.

  • im playing this tomorrow for LGPE. hoping to get all 1s (:

i play oboe. i loveee the solo in the song.

  • @heyitsbuuurittany I'm playing the solo too :) And I have State Competition next week.

  • This composer is mean to the tubas xD. Gives them awesome but boring as hell chord notes the entire 4 movements >.<

  • 2nd trumpet gets fun near the middle :D

  • lol just played this for an All County band. I played oboe :)

  • played crash cymbals on this XD

  • were singing this for chorus _-jess

  • Played this in 8th grade last year :) i had the trumpet solo haha

  • This song is so amazing our 8th grade band is playing it this year along with joy by frank ticheli and alleygator alley by idk but this is going to be the best concert we ever had!!!!!! I'm so excited for it :) btw I play second flute but wished I played first :(

  • This is nice....but....Copland's Appalachian Spring, movement 7? Always imitated, never duplicated.

  • @phantsmogo Simple gifts existed before Copland orchestrated it in Appalachian Spring. However his setting from the ballet introduced the music to the public at large.

  • I played this in eigth grade on the oboe! Now i'm in high school and still play the oboe!

  • It sounds sooo much lifted than when we played it T_T

  • i saw the symphony i loved it

  • I played the clarinet solo on this piece when we ha it on our band :)

  • I played 1st part on this last year in band. I actually played the trumpet solo in this song.

  • @1objection I bet you're one of those players who spends all their warm-up time at conference honors bands playing their state solo piece instead of warming up..... Yes Yes, we know you played the Geodiche etude, now do some lip slurs.

  • @phantsmogo I don't know why you're so mad at me, its an old comment about my pride in being picked for this solo.

  • we playd this in DC for heritage band trip thingy

  • i love this song we did good tonight i should have some up soon of us playing

  • Ahh! My band nearly played this two years ago, but I'm in choir and we're singing Simple Gifts. I didn't realize this was that song! Now I wish we had played this song. I love Frank Ticheli. It's a shame my university doesn't have a band, or I would make sure we played this!

  • at the end for 2nd clarinet :D i frickin love this piece ^___^

  • im playin this next week for pre MPA GO FRENCH HORNS

  • we r playing this in my band 9 in 8th but we r not that good

  • I have to play the trumpet solos for concert band today

  • now that i think of it, it must've been this one that i played. haha sorry for spaming up your comment wall with my confusion. but this one seems like one i could play in 8th grade (still not as nice as this recording is of course)

    love this piece :)
