  • what did u have to do in order to make the swap successfull?

  • i have a 1997 nissan maxima, my friend swears up and down that his 06 tiburon gt will destroy my car, he is ignorant enough to say a trailblazer would beat it, but anyway i have thought about swappin a vq35de into my maxima, my car is an automatic, would it be wise to keep an automatic or try to find a manual 2002 or 1997 maxima to race with, and if i keep the 97 what would i need to do in order for the swap to be successful?

  • @poopheadin2011 you can do the swap with the 97's og tranny but you would need to upgrade your clutch, from what i read, to at least a stage 2. The VQ35de is lighter so your car would be able to pull more out of it. If you have auto tranny i suggest you switch it to a 5 or 6sp when you do the conversion.

  • post new clips.391 @ 11 psi should just be the begining. how big is that intercooler? and what ecu is running this?

  • It only made 391at 11 psi (untuned - running lean at the top end). We ran into accel fueling issues which have since been sorted. I need to still put on the boost controller solenoid to up the boost. Engine should be good for 600. need time to put it back on dyno

It is mildly built VQ35DE - rods, pistons, springs/retainers, lowered compression. Love the torque that the additional 0.5L of displacement gives at the bottom end.

  • nice 4th gen, just the lower half of the vq35?

  • what did it dyno man??
