  • I love everything about him. This production of Company means so much to me. I'd love to meet him, someday....

  • Mmmmm. YUMMY!!!! =) HOT! HOT!! HOT!!!

  • I love Raul Esparza!!! He is so amazingly talented and gorgeous!!!! I want him to come back to Broadway ASAP!!

  • leap of faith.....hahaha.......anyone else notice that???

  • Nothing notice until now. They just changed that a couple of days ago.

  • @humbugfoto1 i didn't even notice that they wrote that. i just heard him say it. hahaha

  • love Raul

  • I just watched the 2006 version of Company, and I am totally in love with his singing and acting! He is luminous! I want someone to sing "Marry me a Little" at my wedding now!

  • anybody know what role he was originally cast as in assassins???????

  • bradythed, Raúl was cast as Zangara in Assassins.

  • thanks man! Ah... I can totally see it.. it would have been great!

  • "Love at first site with Raul Esparza"... can I get an AMEN!! I played "Amy" in college & watched COMPANY on PBS out of curiosity (& also because public tv is just about the only way most people get to see great theatre, so you gotta support it). I'd heard great things about this revival. Man, were they ever right! I cannot believe I've never heard of this guy before. He is amazing on stage, charismatic & sexy with a redonkulous voice!!! Hoping to see him in THE HOMECOMING, singing or not!

  • I was at the premier in NYC watching it along side of Raul. He was amazing and so gracious for everyones support.

  • The passion for the piece just drips off this guy. He is fried gold.

  • It was a stormy night in Scottsdale, I was looking for Bravo to watch another insipid episode of Project Runway and all of a sudden, I heard "Bobby bubby" on tv. Wow, who are these people playing on PBS...it ain't Dean Jones and...wait a minute...everything looks dark, including the expression on this guy's face...and listen...and follow his passion...and man, he can sing! Love at first site with Raul Esparza.

  • Ditto...in Boston...I wish I could call Raul on the phone, and tell him how much I love the shot of adrenaline I get from his singing.

    RSG-Boston..."Bravissimo Raul!!"

  • raul esparza is so adorable, I can't even handle it. I just want to hug him and have him sing me to sleep :)

  • Wow, that smile makes me melt every time I see it.

Whether or not he won the Tony (and don't get me started on that), there are many more in this man's future.

  • Raul Esparza,

Will you marry me a little?

    Love Julia

  • I love it!

  • On the subject of Best Actor my mom had this to say: "It was a pity Tony." Not sure if I agree (from my stand point Hyde-Pierce doesn't deserve an award, or even pity for that matter). Raul should've won. This is almost as bad as Avenue Q beating out Wicked...

  • Not to get off subject, but Wicked had no right beating Avenue Q. Wicked is a spectacle and great for teenage girls, but nothing to write home about. There is no character development and MAJOR plot holes. There was and never will be anything quite like Avenue Q. It is a gift to the world of musical theatre.

  • Yeah, and Avenue Q has SO MUCH charatcer building and no plot holes at all. PLease. Look, wicked obviously doesn't represent the pinnicle of musical theatre, but Avenue Q hardly does. Don't get me wrong, i love it but its good for laughs and thats about it, how can u even begin to talk about charatcer development? Obviously, they're puppets, but thats the restriction of the show.

And there will never be anything like Avenue Q? No, there will be far better musicals and thank god.

  • I saw the show tonight and his performance was amazing! It made the show much more meaningful and enjoyable than the original over 30 years ago. He so deserved the Tony and it's unfortunate he wasn't recognized. It would seem David Hyde Pierce won as a business decision to recognize a very expensive show in a huge theater. Raul Esparza looks much more mature and much larger on stage than he appears in person.

  • He so is the ultimate Bobby! He reminds me of Broadways George Clooney!

  • Duuude. What is up with the cameraman (especially at the beginning)? 0_o Ha.

I heart Raul and wanted him to win that Tony so bad. (x

But it's quite disturbing because he looks like a younger version of my 9th grade German teacher..In this interview particularly. o_o And I don't like being reminded of him every time I see Raul. Haha.

That doesn't stop me from loving him, though. (x

  • I know!!! I am OUTRAGED that he didn't win! I only knew who he was last night when I watched his performance and I am now in total love with him! He should have won!;{

  • Raúl DESERVED that Tony. David Hyde Pierce's performance is not as astounding or memorable as Raúl's. Raúl always gets dicked over for big awards. And to answer you Sweeney10, Raúl was cast in Assasins but they didn't do it because of 9/11 (it was right around that time that they targeted previews). THe part was then given to Cerveris, right? I think it was Cerveris. GO Raúl!! ☺

  • It's a travesty that Raul lost the Tony last night to David Hyde Pierce's lightweight turn in "Curtains".

  • Indeed, I mean I like David Hyde Pierce, but Curtaisn wasn;t a very good show and I didn't find him to be amazing.

  • I could be wrong, but I think he was going to play Zangara

  • yeah, he was going to be Zangara (oh I would KILL to see that. no, i would ASSASSINATE to see that!!!)

  • Raul was going to be in Assassins? That's Awesome! It's a shame he wasn't able to do it. Does anyone know what the part was?
