  • The future, overtaking the past.

Fight it or join it, either way it's happening.

  • is this like a 1/8th mile drag race?

  • quietly and politely winning

  • And some argue that we don't have the technology to run our nation on green energy.

  • The lotus also beat the porsche and that is definitely not designed for straight line speed. Electric motors have consistent delivery of power and have more torque than internal combustion so this doesn't surprise me.

  • listen to all the excuses, give the little electric car some credit here. whats next? someone going to say it was cheating? I know, the sun was in all the other drivers eyes, thats it.

  • this clip is pointless, the Carrera GT is a true sportscar, its not build for a short straight drag race, thats the only way the Tesla Roadster can win, on a longer straight line the carrera GT would easily pull away and on a real race track the other cars would drive cyrcles around the tesla which is limited to 125mph

  • They should run these cars with they MYT engine powering the electric motor. A 17 pound diesel engine getting 100+ mpg running an electric motor. It would be a fast freight train without the 1000 pounds of batteries.

  • The problem with their "win" is that it's singular. Try the race a second time and it'll lose. Even if you give them a free battery, it'll still lose, because the motor gets so hot it needs 20 min to cool down after a single hard run, but you never hear about that. I wish the media would stop "drinking the electric car KoolAid" and stick to getting at the facts.

  • @kiminicooper1 plus, the other cars sound so damn sexy. I actually do not own a car. I ride a motorcycle. I would never ride an electric bike. The sound is one of the most important aspects of a machine. Dino Fuel FTW.

  • @clevername333 Dino fuel is fun...but considering the volume of consumption, its not a good thing for our spaceship earth. When somebody figures out the battery (capacity and super-rapid-charging), bye bye ICE, so until then...dino FTW...

  • @steelmesh I fully agree ;-)

  • @sesqueda2 Considering no maintenance costs, that's pretty good. It only needs brushes and bearing grease, at this mileage. No Gas car will ever go 100k miles with out a full tune up, timing belt, oil changes, filter changes, ect. Of course the Telsa is so dam expensive.

  • If you know how to and are willing to launch a Carrera GT, a 458 Italia etc near redline, smoke the clutch, burn the tires, and shift at the perfect RPM, you just might be able to beat your Mom driving a Tesla Roadster but I would put my money on her in the Tesla every time ...its quite hard to beat a car that makes 295 ft lb of torque in 2 feet and never shifts...I have done it in a Tesla...no issues.

  • @sesqueda2 engine only lasts 100k miles? sounds like bullshit man, i'm not sure on the specifics with this setup, but in general they don't have anything to wear except bearings, maybe brushes (which are normally pretty easy to rebuild, much easier than rebuilding a gas engine). dont be misinforming now.

  • @therotaryrocket Not the motor (engine is for gas, motor is electric btw) that lasts 100k miles, the BATTERY PACK. LEARN YOUR SHIT FIRST BEFIRE CALLING PEOPLE MISINFORMING

  • @therotaryrocket An electric motor can last way longer than combustion engines. The PRR GG-1 locomotives run daily on the East Coast from the late 30s to early 80s, in their original motors.

  • @sesqueda2 lol only 100k miles is about 10 years for most car owners.

  • lol at the loss of traction on the carrera GT through the first two gears and the race getting over when it finally shot off.

  • @LonerMuhd if that was the longest straight on the track and the porsche used the same tires and they all raced as is.. I think the Telsa would win against everyone

  • @LonerMuhd Porsche's aren't meant for going in a straight line.

  • How many miles does it get per charge? I am very interested. And how long would it take to charge again?

  • The lone laugh in the background just before the cut is Awesome!

  • Didn't look a very long strip? 1/8th?

  • Kudos to the chumps at Tesla for taking the petty route, bringing a suit against Top Gear for what THEY consider libel. The most ironic part is that this ridiculous accusation demeans their name more than Top Gear ever could have. Google "Tesla Top Gear libel" and find Top Gear's response for the real story

  • @toleratetruth top gears response to the whole fiasco is actually pretty pathetic, but whatever

  • @toleratetruth

The fact that Tesla doesn't want any money, just wants Top Gear to clear the air, earns some points. People take that show seriously, they should expect truthful reviews... not entertaining stunts.

  • Hey..who said the ICE woud be the only form of power for ever.

In maybe one hundred years from now the electric engine will be outdated and something more advanced will replace it.

I dont doubt that we will be "floating and flying" around in Vehicles like we see in star wars...I dont doubt it at all.

Meantime we have had one hundred years plus of the ICE and it has served us well.So now we are moving on to a form of power more sensible and benificial for the planet..far more so than the ICE.

  • whooooshhhhh, thats the only sound the oil companies will hear:D

  • ANY electric car should do very well from a dig... amateurs...

  • none of those real cars with engine are supercharge or turbocharged. a lot of turbocharged and supercharged cars have a flat torque curve just like an electric motor.

  • well duh its going to win a drag race theres no delay or anything with the engine but i bet if it was longer the cars with the horse power would win.

  • I am tempted to buy a Tesla, but I have a few questions, like: 1) Where do I go for support and repairs? 2) Will Tesla lease it or can Iget a lease on it and what is the residual?

Oh, I have some interesting news for you people: Did you know that North Dakota has more oil in its ground that all of the Middle East combined! Yes, this is true according to a 2006 U.S. Geological Study!

  • @PhilMul About that oil: in 2008, USGS said North Dakota and Montana have an estimated 3 to 4.3 billion barrels of oil in the Bakken Formation, from a 2008 USGS assessment. Certainly, nothing to sneeze at, but we currently import 10 million barrels per day, for a total of about 3.65 billion barrels per year. That's a lot of oil, but clearly not nearly as much as "all the oil in the Middle East combined." They updated their numbers. pubsDOTusgsDOTgov/fs/2008/3021/pdf/FS08-3021_508DOTpdf

  • 100% of Torque, 100% of Time.

  • Considering that my electric bill has doubled over the last 3 years thanks to AEP those mercenary *&!#@$! I would bet that the Tesla is not free to drive at all! As a matter of fact I am starting to think that the power companies are just loving this car and see a big fat future for themselves.

  • @PhilMul I think it's around $10 per charge...? Don't quote me on that!

  • People argue that the electric car pollutes as much if not more than gasoline internal combustion engine cars. People argue that because electricity comes from coal and natural gas (note they did not mention hydro-electric or geo-thermal), and making and charging the lithium battery would take more electricity coming from those plants, that it would equate to the same amount of pollution because we are burning more at the plant instead of the tail pipe. What do you guys think?

  • @heartlessvietboy It also requires energy to make gasoline too, don't count that out!

Tesla actually claims to be twice as energy efficient as Toyota's Prius, but you know...that opinion is obviously going to be biased I don't know how to find that kind of information for myself.

Yeah like you mentioned...as long as the energy source is clean, it's a totally clean operation.

  • How reliable are electric motors?

  • @heartlessvietboy Dunno mate. I haven't heard of any failures but then, it's all brand new. I do know that Tesla has a LOT of patents on their battery technology - a lot of cash and research went into keeping the battery at room temperature all the time, whether you're driving in a blizzard or the desert. Also, they developed sensors to let you know if something is wrong. Lithium-ion batteries require stability!

  • It's not that Tesla doesn't have enough money to fund their project in a lesser form, they have Government Assistance. Corporations need the currency to buy resources to drill, mine, and make. The mountain of iron is a lot of money worth in the hundreds of trlllions of dollars. Factories need cotton, steel, lumber, oil, silica and other resources. Those things compromise most of what we see around us. This system is a Corporate System needing resources working under The Currency (Government).

  • @heartlessvietboy compared to ICE motors? 1000x

  • @heartlessvietboy

    Electric motor: 90%+ efficient.

ICE (Internal combusion Engine): 10-25% efficient.

  • @Jogeta5

    No, are you stupid?

80% for electric and 30-45 for ICE.

And yea you have about 35% efficiency generating the electricity in the first place!

  • @mr13377

    As Lex Luthor yelled "WRONG!!"

  • If they are so reliable, how come warranty are only 3 years 50K miles?

  • @jqbloke Of course...

They certainly can't get you as far as gasoline, as the Roadster has a ~230 mile range per charge...and instead of a 5 minute gas fillup, it's a 3 hour recharge. So this is good for commuting, useless for vacations!

  • I don't think so. And I want to give confidence to those in support of electric propelled transportation. Electric vehicles cut back on the work tremendously and it's very efficient.

  • Who gives a f**k if it wins in a race or not, half the people watching this are inspired by the electricity concept not who wins the race. Besides, if you were to buy one, would you really risk totaling it in a race, rather than have a nice low-maintenance car to ride around and show off?

  • Just got my first ride in a Tesla...........Holy Christ are they fast. I've Drag Raced for most of my adult life and if I had to guess, I'd say it would run the 1/4 in 11 seconds. You just can't imagine the Torque these things have! I rented the 500 Horse Viper a few years ago and beat on it for a weekend. There is no comparison, the Tesla is really much faster. When that Torque hits you immediately you're literally pinned to your seat much like some high G amusement park ride.

  • @THECRUNKILLAZ actually i just remembered, this Roadster can go 244 on a car if you dont abuse it 24/7 and now can be charged in 45 minutes on the 2.5 model as well as having the battery swapped with your spare in 5 minutes.

  • @THECRUNKILLAZ Id rather have the Model S. its damn close to being the perfect car. Im going to seriously consider it. If the payments on it are realistic enough, i'll be getting one.

  • @THECRUNKILLAZ No where did i see it advertised as the fastest car in the world. But it did just beat a Porsche Carrera GT in this video. Thats not fast enough?

  • The Tesla was PULLING AWAY....................

  • Еxpecting something else?

  • As far as global warming is concerned... electric cars do help a little, but most of our power stations still use coal or nuclear fuel. Coal is still a fossil fuel and therefore the car still carries a carbon footprint with it. Ok fine its cheaper from your pocket because household electricity doesnt get taxed nearly as much as petrol/diesel does. But its environmental impact is not solved by this, its simply shifting where the pollution is done to a power plant in the case of coal ones.

  • @OlympicScientist agreed on coal, but actually nuclear power plants produce not greenhouse gasses. The exhaust you see is steam. Two very difficult things need to happen, 1. Security regulations need to strong enough for recycling spent fuel rods and using the produced plutonium for electric generation to be practical, and 2. the even bigger one is that we need a storage facility.

That said alternative fuels are on the rise. Electrics alone are not the solution, but they are part.

  • @OlympicScientist Solar Panels my friend, look them up.

  • Doesn't anyone see the reason why electric cars can't be a solution?

  • GO TESLA GO!!!!

  • Dang i knew it was fast but still, its surprising. I get the owners of the other cars were having a hissyfit after that little demonstration. XD

  • smislio ga pametni Tesla........

  • that tesla is the shiznit

  • 7 arabs saw this video as a menace to their richness

  • @bonds911 i wouldnt go so far as to say that yet ^^. < 60% of roads being driven on by electric cars is still a considerable time away but it IS a step in the right direction.

  • still takes 7 gallons of oil for every tyre though!

  • @tofty21 Depending on where your energy comes from.

  • @ tamayo (the gas is worse before we even use it) what does that mean and modern cars are more effcient they have more power by far than 90's and your mpg's are off on that.

  • @shanehokanstud oh, TG pretended the Tesla ran out and faked it crapping out and pushing it back to the garage. They flogged it for 50 miles (usually 250 miles normal driving) and it had about 20% left.

The home charger is 4 hours. But yeah, charging times are the big thing, once it's down to 10mins or so it'll get serious. But still, 250 miles is a heap. I'd only do that very rarely without stopping over night so it'd be fine for me. In Australia we have 230 volts so charge time is overnight.

  • @shanehokanstud been watching Top Gear I presume? ;) They faked stuff on that episode btw.

  • Tesla Roadster in 4 Secounds 60 MPH!! ;)))

  • pwned

  • Here come electric cars to save planet earth awsome. Where does the electric come from they say zero emission but the powerplant is dirty and less efficent that modern day gas powered cars and cost is through the roof on these zero emission cars batteries will be the death of these cars wait 5 years when they go bad to much money to replace them and they will be junk.

  • @queckjeff lol, the gas we get is far worst before we even use it in our cars (look up carbon train) furthermore, even or "modern day" cars are less fuel efficient. exp a earl 90's accord gave you 35+ miles to a gallon, your "modern car" an't even making that cut lol. yes electric cars are expensive, but how much do you spend on maintaining you car (how much oil, anti-freeze, break fluid, and yeah not to mention the parts). just like computers have gotten better over the years so will batteries

  • stupid elactra....

That Porsche Carrera GT had to much power to go away

  • Electric motors are fun, no waiting to reach "peak" power at a certain rpm - they have 100% of their power available as soon as they start spinning. They still can't match the sound of an internal combustion engine though.

  • If your house is powered by electric panels you will not pay a single cent for driving your super hot and super high tech Model S. Add that will take less than one hour for a full charge, it goes 0-60 in 5 seconds, it has huge torque and goes to full rpm anytime you press the pedal, it has 7 seats, uses green energy to power and looks like an high-tech Aston Martin for under $50k you end up with the perfect car!

  • @gekados how can electric motor with only one gear go to full rpm without reaching top speed?

  • @boobmasteris magic?!?@?! that's a good question.. I'll google it later

  • @nomainreason please reply me if you get an answer cuz as i know only cvt transmission can do full rpm at any speed

  • @gekados I'd like to dream also.. but it's not all pink unicorns and fairytales. That car won't look as nice compared to the other new cars, and batteries get tired after a while (like the ones in your laptop) and will soon need to be replaced.. by new (expensive ) ones. I'd like one too, but the price of batteries will outcost the gas. It's a good step forward and I'd buy one too. as for those 7 seats, won't ALL be as comfortable as you think.. but it's a nice feature to have ..(for your dogs)

  • @gekados the Roadster is about $100k but the Model S coming out in '11 should be priced around $60k

  • @gekados except for the lack of noise produced by a manly engine

  • @gekados but it needs to be charged every 60miles

  • @gera3030ify how many miles does a Porsche Carrera GT go before it needs to be filled up? LOL

  • @gekados correction, it goes from 0-60 in 3.9 sec :D

  • @gekados Solar panels aren't cheap though. =/ At least not in Australia.

  • @gekados

Solar Panels produce very, very little energy. In fact, they take years and years for them to pay for themselves.

  • @gekados actually with the highest breaker rating it take 4 hrs to charge it full, and that's only at home with the high power chargers. With the portable chargers it'll take about 16hrs for a full charge

  • @gekados it looks nothing like an Aston, more like a Lotus

  • @reco1977 He was not talking about the Roadster looking like an Aston, he was talking about the Model S, its the next tesla coming out 2012

  • i dont know about the batteries in the tesla but i know i used to have an electrec moped and after about a month of using it the batteries where shot and my bro has a mac book and after a year the batteries where shot, wont the batteries in the tesla eventually not be able to hold a charge and you have to get new ones all like 1000 of them?

  • @CrackHamsters Tesla guarantees batteries to last for 7 years, after that they'll lose efficiency and should be replaced. I think the replacement cost is $12,000, which is awful, but then again, you won't pay a dime for gas for those 7 years, so maybe it's worth it? No doubt it is just out of the price range for a lot of people, but the technology is coming along fast.

  • @sheepburn If you wear out the engine in a new VW Diesel it'll cost you about that much to replace with a brand new one.

  • @sheepburn Kool, but where did you get the info on battery life? the tesla site? well if they last 7 years that great, but the price will more likely be less since battery technologies will improve along with mass production and more competition

  • @CrackHamsters Most batteries dont die they are "murdered" If every time you use a rechargeable device (like a laptop) you run the battery completely dead you drastically shorten its serviceable lifespan. On the other hand if you typically discharge your batteries by about 20 to 40 percent your service life goes way up. Also if you use your laptop as a desktop replacement leave the battery out after it is all charged up it'll last longer.

  • You said "Electric here we come baby, screw the Oil companies and the Arabs." I don't care about your oil companies, but you don't have to bring Arabs into this. As far as military involvement, it's people like you who stereotype that allowed our military to use "Nuclear Weapons" propaganda to fight for peace aka "Iraqi Freedom" When all that's happening is innocent deaths; your "Arabs" and stealing oil. The message of the "Electric Car" is good and moral, your just failing to present it right.

  • Comment removed

  • @gregispremium dude you have no idea what you are talking about when you start victimizing US enemies. Truth is we sacrifice American lives trying to live within the confines of Rules of Engagement so we can protect those "innocent civilians"...which are consequently only civilians when they aren't firing AK47s at our soldiers.

  • @Rbeal52 No idea what i'm talking about? Sorry my ideals do not support meaningless murder. God bless the families who lost their loved ones who served in the military. The U.S. count is nearly 6,000. May god also bless the families who lost 100,000+ loved ones due to U.S. attacks in the Middle East.

The reason we are in the middle east shouldn't be sufficient for any member of the government or any citizen to allow our heroes to die. . . for a war that isn't necesarry or justified.

  • First i'm buyin a windmill. Then i'm buyin a model S.

  • @TrFl81391 or even better, build your own windmill, then buy a tesla s. (grassroots ftw!) XD ...or just buy a windmill, but building one sounds like more fun.

  • what happen if EMP hits lol

  • cool tesla...

but the lotus is also good and it only has a little motor....

  • The tesla maybe the quickest, but the CGT V10 howl wins it for me.

  • @miniz33 They didn't crap out fyi

  • all noise rattle and smoke with greasy oily grimy belchy engines

    but nothing to show for

  • Yeah electrics are going to take the performance lead. My electric R/C model car, a Traxxas Rustler VXL is said to be the fastest off the shelf model car in the world. Does over 70 mph and goes about 15 minutes on a charge. Will do wheelstands at 30 mph. Incredible what battery, electric motor and motor controller technology has done to the industry.

  • @warren52nz can i drive it to the store for a gallon of milk?

  • @sellingon Yes, but its a one way trip. You will have to have it towed back.

  • why only go to 60? does the tesla fall on it's butt after that?

  • @irocthief It doesnt have a proper gearbox to go faster. Was a 2 speed, but kept breaking, so now its only a single speed. If you could build a gearbox strong enough to keep up with the torque of an electric motor, im sure a higher speed can be achieved.

  • @irocthief It tops out at 120ish.

  • this race is a joke! you can just fit all 4 cars on the track together! the carrera is spinning his tires and he has to make sure he doesnt run into the others! this does prove anything and the fact that the Exige is 2nd to all those cars also proves its a joke for a race!

  • How did that crappy lil Exige come before the rest? 210hp? 4 banger? C'mon!

  • love the laught at the end :)

  • only 100000 dollars, why not.

  • what was that race??? 0-60mph??, i love tesla dont get me wrong, but if you were to do full 1/4 mile or even a mile long, it would lose......but im not hating, the design is by far the best amongst all EV/hybrid vehicle, finally a car to be desirable.

most car company make ugly electric car so no1 would buy them, just doing it to "show" the world that they "concern". soon as tesla comes in my country, i might snatch one up, not bcuz of "green" but i admire its engineering and design...

    regards

  • funny how they removed the rematch where porsche killed all of the.. come on guys you can clearly hear and see that the porsche has majaor traction issues!! and im not a fan of any of these cars.. just stating the facts!!

  • @andybolla well the porch was burnin the tires the whole time in this race

  • That carrera gt driver sucks.

  • Agree

  • I don't give much of a f*&k who wins in one of these races. All these cars are still way cooler than the hunk of shit I drive!!!!! I'll take the Tesla if ya'll want the gas cars.

  • And after 220 miles wait 8 hours to recharge again.

    Ill stick to the porsche

  • that'll be up to 300 miles and about 45 minutes to an hour to charge once the tesla model s comes out.

  • 3.5 hours on 240 Volt plug

  • this is dumb. obviously the carrera gt wasnt on the throttle at ALL if it got beat by the lotus and tesla

  • @nsxracersb

he spun his tires and backed off so he could turn dumbass

  • hmmmm.. ok?!

  • Dude you should check out the Tesla acceleration stats.

  • Not bad for the first production car with this technology vs. cars with over 100 years of production history/engineering.

Cant wait to see how electric does in 10 years.

  • lol wtf is this 100 meter come on tesla does 130mph carerra gt does 200mph power to the petrol fuck car whidout a noise

  • short race, car with more torque wins (aka the one gear Tesla).

Long race, The fastest car wins.

  • Tesla is electronically limited to 125 mph. The Ultimate Aero EV can do 0-60 in 2.5 seconds with a top speed of 208 mph, it would smoke the CGT.

  • I just seen one of these cars today.. License plate said TESLA. LOL!

  • the carrera gt would molest that thing givin a proper driver/Warm tires

  • The driver of the GT can't drive that thing for shit.

  • too bad they arent cheaper...

  • well they are hopefully because right now they're aimed at the high end market because rich people have enough money to take risks that ordinary people cannot.

  • Make the track longer and see who wins.

  • A lot longer, or else the difference would be even bigger;)

  • If you convert to electric and hybrid systems it will suck really bad. Gas engines have so much personality. You know your driving a honda and you know when your driving a subaru just by the engine sound.

  • Love it, the Tesla blew the doors off those Porsche's and the Lotus. Electric here we come baby, screw the Oil companies and the Arabs.

The Tesla S Sedan will cost about $48K and will also get from 0-60mph in less than 5 seconds.

These cars will start to change everything in the World.

  • @plutaris33

You can't ignore the fact, that a normal combustion engine takes way less time to refill than it takes an electric engine with electricity. That is quite bad if you have a job, which requires a lot of time on the road.

But when time goes by and the technology becomes better... maybe

  • @maj212212

While its true it takes more time, some elec. cars have a 'Quick charge' of sorts that give you about 80% charge in 30 mins, and im sure a boss wont mind if they run a cable out of the building for half an hour then go park up and have a car with enough charge for you to get home. Also, as someone else wrote "A combustion car has 0 usable torque at 1000rpm while an elec. car has full usable torque at 0rpm". Elec. cars are for the mostpart more affordable than combustion(running inc.)

  • @maj212212 Charging time is a problem but they're making big breakthroughs in batteries that will allow charging in only a few minutes. The next problem will be how to build a charging network that can deliver thousands of amps to dozens of cars so "filling up" will be the way it is for today's vehicles.

But as we say in engineering... "that's a detail". 8^)

  • @maj212212

It takes less than a minute to battery-swap.

  • @Zamboro

But these arent your regular batteries.

The li ion batteries, that Tesla decided to use cost over 20,000 dollars.

My sources may be incorrect, but whatever the cost. It isn't very cheap

  • @plutaris33 less than six seconds...not less than five

  • @plutaris33

ummm so how do you expect to charge the car...we apparently still need the arabs for oil to power the electric companies

  • @chrben22 Um... only 1.1% of electricity in the US is derived petroleum power stations, so no we don't need oil for the Tesla at all (well except for the petroleum based plastics, although I believe much of the Tesla uses soy polymers)

  • @chrben22 most electric power plants are fueled with nuclear energy, at least the ones in my state. My city has two nuclear electric plants, one has the largest turbines ever built by Westinghouse. And if they aren't nuclear they are more than likely coal burning electrical power plants in other states.

  • No need to bring Arabs into this.

  • @gregispremium Maybe you haven't noticed, but America has had it's military in the Persian Gulf area for roughly 20 years now. By ending or lessening America's dependence of Arab oil or Persian (Iran) oil or where ever it comes from, we can then bring our military back home, therefore saving hundreds of million$ in military costs and trillions in oil costs. So transferring to Electric power for cars would be HUGE.

  • Comment removed

  • @plutaris33 except that we still need foreign oil to make electricity haha you can't seriously expect coal and alternative fuels to power America ESPECIALLY if everyone started driving electric cars

  • @exiledrabbit IF everyone start driving electric, that would be a miracle, people rather give there money to the oil company cause they "love the sound of there turbo and less efficient cars. Everyone with an electric car is decades into the future. Oil/coil ain't the only way electricity is produced and because electricity is the universal currency of energy, it can be produced by a variety of different sources. we just need to stop being slaves to oil and stop making excuses

  • @Tamayo1980 okay alternative fuels are horribly expensive and inefficient when compared to coal and oil, so of course we need to keep researching them to one day free ourselves from foreign oil. BUT driving an electric car today isn't helping the environment or the country at all because more than 90% of that electricity is coming from fossil fuels burning miles away. In fact you're hurting the environment because the process to create a lithium-ion battery is extremely harmful to the envmnt

  • @exiledrabbit You can run fifty electric cars on dirty coal electricity and still only make the pollution of one PROPERLY tuned gasoline car. (just ask the US EPA)

  • @marshgre link to your info?

  • @plutaris33 Srew them all, all those fucking arabs and Oil co.

  • Tesla roadster has a range of about 244 miles (390 km) on a single charge. The Lotus that shares the Tesla's chassis has a range of about 260 miles (420 km) on a tank of gas. Consider that each morning the Tesla has a full "tank" for about $5.00 worth of electricity (and that is only if you run the battery completly flat). I could drive the Tesla Roadster to work (100km round trip) for three days on less than $5.00. The 2011 Tesla Model S will be even better with a range of about 480 km.

  • Comment removed

  • Are you Kidding? you know how much those other cars cost?

    Lotus Exige- $65,000

    Porsche GT3- $107500

    Porsche Carrera GT- $44000<
