I have found it near impossible to get treated for my chronic debilitating pain because doctors are scared to write a script for them. They will hand out muscle relaxants (which make it worse) and other things that aren't worth a darn to help with the pain. I've asked the doctors why they are so hesitant, and it's because if they write too many the DEA ask them WHY and they get scared...
FYI internists DO NOT treat chronic pain. I see a pain doc bc I have a CP condition for which there is no cure. I see a CP doctor who is an expert in treating CP specifically. He is in no way a drug pusher and does far more than just rx'ing pain meds. Pain docs are needed bc they have the expertise/understanding to treat complex pain conditions. Reg docs can treat acute pain well but CP is different beast & requires docs specialize in its treatment. Please do your research.
Legalize everything and treat people with problems. No honest person should suffer because of other people's problems. Throwing addicts in jail for 5 years isn't exactly a compassionate and cost effective way of dealing with things either.
The system we live in is so messed up. Honestly this isn't the land of the free anymore. These fuckers on Capitol Hill need to be voted out. They think they know what's best for the masses and treat us like cattle they don't realize everyone is different and have different needs. If opioid are banned its going to affect them and then they will realize that opiates do play a purpose when they are in need of pain relief from cancer and other stuff
Because the doctors are affraid of getting in trouble. I just had back surgery and the pain is unbearable. So this makes me a criminal. Also there is a tolerance that you build and it takes more meds to do the same job. After a certain point dos's need to eliminate the inaphin
The only reason I am able to go to work and pay taxes is because of painkillers. No painkillers, no worky. I need to get up extra early to take these things so I can drag my ass out of bed, And I am not on a high dose 7.5 percocets AND I am still in pain. I am not fond of living either. Until your in pain you will never know what it is like. Talk all you want.
this same drug war exists here in Canada. I suffer from Cluster Headache Disease, tension headaches, anxiety and insomnia and cannot get enough of anything strong enough, plus with urine tests, weekly pill counts, weekly appointments etc it makes things very difficult. I never chose to be born with cluster headaches, and there are simple yet addictive meds that get rid of them and nothing else does....dependence is nowhere near as debilitating as cluster headaches imo....
Hi guys. Just to let you know that I provide free hypnosis audios MP3 Downloads on my website. They are used successfully all over the world. Give it a go. Jason Newland x
Even after we end the drug war, all prosecuting leaches,...er, I mean, lawyers,..must be held accountable for their mistakes too !
If there was a chance he would be punished for using flimsy evidence, do you think he'd use it ? Do you think he would prosecute ANYONE, unless they were 100% positive guilty ? HELL NO ! THIS WHOULD BRING JUSTICE BACK TO THE JUSTICE SYSTEM !
My doctor recently went through a bust like the doctor in the video. What officials were shocked to see was that himself and his staff kept detailed records of the frequency of patient visits, random pill counts, having patients suspected of not following his contract drug tested...i could go on and on about how my doctor's due diligence paid off. I am prescribed large amounts of medication a month for my spinal disorder...if i ever lost my doctor I would probably commit suicide....
@killyoubitch27 go fuck yo mamas nasty stinkass pussy biotch jajajajajaaaa!!! u KKK loving bitch I hope the black panthers impale your ass jajajajaaaa!!!
@alex3373 How can you say that? Yes, there are "Drug Seekers', but there are also a lot of legitimate need for pain management. A year after my near fatal car accident, I went to MA school, so that I could try to make a difference and NOT be one the uncompassionate, rude, horrible medical personnel that I had and have encountered. You should really consider another career field. And saying those terrible thing on here hiding behind the ambiguity of an internet screen name, make you a coward.
10 years ago I had an extremely rare disease that made me seriously consider suicide. I had no idea about the world of painkillers and was given nothing even though I was in excruciating pain that would last more than half a day for a few years. I eventually had to seek out pain meds myself and spent $300 to $400/week, eventually getting better because of them. I do not take them anymore but I am an advocate of Oxy-Contin.
These fuckers... I spent nearly 5 years close to death due to a neuro degenerative spinal disorder and went completely broke. Thanks to the literal will to live and a good doctor who isn't afraid to stand up to these thugs, I have my pain under control the past year and am close to starting over @ 32 yo.
To this day I don't know how I found the strength to pull through. I'm still angry sometimes.
Thanks chrisrhudy02, I appreciate the support, I'm on ANOTHER doctor, In goog old soviet Utah the pharmacy i fill at was closed on sunday(they only let you fill when ALLL of the prescription is gone, so i go to Walmart and get my Oxycontin filled, so my former doctor dissmisses me for "violation of my pain contract, filling at an alternate pharmacy." I guess i should have just had diarrhea and agony for 24 hours, or drank myself into a coma. Go figure?
POLICE, making sure the illegal narcotics get to the right people, and if they don't, they will be even more dangerous... Thanks officer! And thank you as well for making sure we fear you all, alienating ourselves from your culture. We hope it makes it easier for you to exploit your power and terrorize our families and friends. Their system says your mind does not work right, and they force toxic chemicals into your bodies. Their media lies to you. Be careful THE POLICE ARE LYING, CORRUPT PIGS!
I hope every DEA agent involved in denying patients adequate medication suffers great pain so they can find out just what their atrocities have done to decent people in pain!
This person seems like he needs opiates for rescue purposes. However opioids from brief reading seems like it has some bad side effects especially when taken wrongly. A strong law needs to be put in place to only allow those in rescuing ie absolute suffering, like this guy on the video, especially because of mishandling purposes.
@laetrille look i know waking up every morning looking in the mirror and knowing you have to look like your mom for the rest of your life is painful so maybe you should get on these pain killer drugs lol
when are more people going to realize that satanists are perpetrating all these horrors. Giving drugs to kids but witholding from those in need. Wake up, people.
I am so sorry for the sick man in this sould NEVER happen in a democratic sociiety. You government owns you !!
The doctor is doing what is trained to do which is to treat patients and they come down on him and ruin him??? So Wrong.
I live in pain everyday and I want to move somewhere so that I can get my life back. We need more doctors like this doctor wo believes the patient and treats them like people.
He lost everything because the police think they know medicine?? Pain is REAL>
Whats bad is. Ones that need it cant get the meds cause they cant afford to get them. And the doctors here wont do shit because we dont have big Ins. And dont think workmens comp is there cause they fucked me, they used a temp total instead of the new MRI that put me a total dis. and took away my medical.. so now me and my family is scred....And I have the paper work to prove it..
they dont give them the required ammount cause oxykottons really bad for you and very addictive. i know im addicted. this shit should never have been invented llol
I have had 90% of the bones in my body broken (road side bomb) How can you say this without thinking it through? Because of YOUR lack of self control, I and thousands like me should suffer!?! But actually by reading your post and your excellent grammer and spelling it's obvious that your problems are greater than pain killer addiction.
@saletious You're a brave person, us pain patierts are criminals: I think the DEA should be disarmed; cruelty is not forgivable... thanks for you're courage and keep up the fight on all fronts.
@saletious -i agree with everything that your saying, they shouldnt punish the people that really need it,but from the junkies point of view (viewed by doctors)is that they are scared to prescribe opiates for pain because people are 2 easily addicted, but if they were 2 rid then junk-balls out an get the people with real pain it would be a totally different story , i work at a dr's office and last week 4 patients got kicked out because they refused to take a piss test. thats how serious it is here
@ME3RZ11 but is it a legal problem or a legit mental health problem? Should it be treated as criminal or treated medically? What I mean is why are there so many people un-happy, depressed and needlessly addicted (or so it appears to those not). Is there a real mental health epidemic happening causing massive numbers of people so self medicate with well-being associated drugs? And is this epidemic being treated and analyzed or at least being recognized properly not criminally ? The Answer is no..
@NoChokeToke - ever since 911 happened the drug intake in the us has gone up over 300%, if u wanna know why people are self medicating ask bush why scare tactic's was his main plan 4 us US citizens.... im not saying your wrong, but it is an epidemic and its happening right now with pain meds, heroin and crystal meth....
@ME3RZ11 I agree totally and its the same story here in Canada, and there was no 9-11 here... could it be our go-go-go work till you drop, serve the boss, serve the state/ province, serve the feds mentality? maybe we have always used a lot of drugs to cope since our earliest days, we know many existed even then..
@ME3RZ11 THE ONLY EPIDEMIC, IS THE SO CALLED WAR ....THE ONLY REASON DRUGS ARE EVERYWHERE, IS BECAUSE OF PROHABITION !..YOUR KIDS CAN GET DRUGS EASILY, BECAUSE OF PROHABITION .
THE ONLY REASON DRUG DEALERS SELL DRUGS, IS BECAUSE OF DRUG PROHABITION !
MEXICANS SPLILLING OVER THE BOARDER DURRING A DEPRESSION, BECAUSE OF PROHABITION !
@13AJJONES - thats a very true point of view, u want in on making the video? u have a very good argument that would be perfect for the video we r making on this subject, i like ur views!
this should not be an issue if you copied the French schema when it comes to health care, but we already see that there is too many private interests in the US who could not care less about people but just for teh votes and the money.
Agree with this vid. Thanks for highlighting this problem!
Had a 98 year old grandmother, with Alzheimer's and confined to a nursing home. Suffered terribly with anxiety attacks while at the nursing home.
Could never understand WHY this woman as never given sufficient meds. to take away her anxiety!!! She got some meds., but never enough to fully help anxiety.
She was confined to bed in a nursing home! Were they afraid she'd become a drug addict?! Big deal if she did!
You have to be a special kind of EVIL to be a drug war cop. Its takes a heartless, freedom hating, to bit thug. I have nothing hatred and disgust for the DEA.
yeah kind of like the teatotalers that enforced prohibition, celibates monitoring sex sites/magazines. God protect me from those who proclaim their expertise, and WANT to be in charge.
They wanna give us pills for everything else, just not the ones we actually need. Shoot up our children with vaccines for diseases that don't even exist any more and make them autistic, but no one can have relief from their pain. And forget the cure for cancer comes from hemp oil, rather poison us with chemo to kill the remaining cells in your body.
Fucking lunatic holier than though lying ass bastard politicians and the diaper wearing horde that believe them and can cause so much pain because they worship guns and violence as the best method to solve social problems.
They are the ones who deserve to be thrown in a cage with sexual predators for five months, not a doctor whose only supposed crime was to make the last years and months of dying poverty and pain stricken people bearable and even enjoyable.
Wow, you need to take a pill... the red one.... those guns and the threat of the populace rising up against the tyrants are the ONLY THINGS keeping this country from quickly becoming a tyranny.
Many pf these people could probably be helped with non prescription herbal remedies. Like pot. Oh but they call that an illegal drug too. You can't overdose on it and it is not physically addictive. Oh but the pharmacutical companies don't have a patend on it and you can grow it so they can't alow that. Ridiculous! Can I eat or smoke any other plant I want? I believe so. As long as I don't interfere with the big gov. lobbyist. Another argument for medcal pot. No overdoses or addiction.
I have leg craps so bad, and i just need some vicoden, I dont need to abuse it, but because my doctor wont prescribe me, I should pay out of pocket on my own terms, fuck FAD and the government
This is what necessarily comes with government which is in reality a group of individuals sanctioned with the right to the initiation of the use of force (violence).
If you condone organizing society around the inherent immorality of government, please spend some time reconsidering.
The experiment of "limited government" has empirically failed.
Because the gov't hovers over doctors, they are terrified to treat their patients - especially those with chronic pain. In NY we have volumes of idiotic laws which make life more difficult for the pain sufferers and their pain physicians, Meanwhile, we still have major problems with young people stealing meds from grandma and even death from overdose. The illegal users only make it more difficult for law abiding citizens, because it is the legally medicated who ultimately suffer the penalty.
A minority of people living in constant pain, and the jailing and wrongful prosecution of a few doctors is a small price to pay to keep citizens from their self-evident God-given inalienable right to pursue happiness by taking drugs.
OMG poor doc. I feel for him, but that is not to demonize police, guys be objective would you? The police is there to enforce the law, I bet most police who arrested this doc. thought "this is just absurd". I agree its stupid, so you have to and change the law and not "kill the messenger"
The police are not messengers. Messengers don't initiate force against peaceful civilians or kidnap you & lock you in prison for non-violent crime. The law we have today is an unjust coercive monopoly. Just doing your job, is an excuse for people who don't want to take an objective look at their actions. Just because it's the law, doesn't mean it's moral. I would respect police much more if they worked for competing businesses. Then they'd serve consumers instead of bureaucrats.
truthadvocate I dont care how you classify the law,the law is just that LAW, once again they only enforce what is on the books, are you telling me that cops made the law?Its their job to enforce it. And I am absolutely against demonizing police its stupid to do so.Are there some bad cops?yes there are,but the majority are looking after you safety and apply the law,and once again if you want the law to change, then taking it up with cops isnt going to do anything,go to the courts and change it.
I agree with you about not blaming cops for the laws that the legislature passes - they don't control that. However, they do have some leeway so far as where they focus their enforcement efforts. For instance, they can focus on traffic infractions, robbery, murder, etc (traditional areas) rather than going after cancer patients for having a joint.
Go to the courts and change it? You make it sound easy. I have no influence as an individual. My vote counts for nothing. I would need millions of dollars to influence politicians, judges, etc. I cannot compete with the special interest groups & corporations that fund political campaigns. The idea that we the people control our government & it works for us is an illusion. It works for the people who can afford to fill the pockets of politicians. We are just flies on the windshield.
truthadvocate I never said it was easy, and sorry if my reply made it sound this way. My point was that policeman are only doing their job , nothing more nothing less, and to demonize them, isnt going to help or make anything better.
Their job involves, to a certain extent at least, terrorizing innocent people and creating chaos under the guise of justice and order. The fact that they're receiving a salary for it is irrelevant.
IVoteNone Its not the fact that they are receiving a salary for it, it is a fact that they are doing their job by the book in most cases. Just because you decided to see what they are doing as some kind of terror doesnt make it so, and once again, not going to help either. If you dont like a particular law then go through the legal process to change it, instead of being obnoxious in calling the very people who will protect you terrorists.
This is what ideological people love to do. All scientific observation about reality is invalid and everything is a matter of subjective interpretation. Here we have direct evidence of police officers threatening a licensed doctor for prescribing a drug his professional opinion deems medically necessary, and your argument for why this constitutes a legitimate usage of force is that "they were just doing their jobs by the books."
If you take an objective, rational, and empirical look into history, you will find that most terrorism was committed through legal means by people "just doing their jobs by the books."
This naive ideological view is inconsistent with reality. It might please you to believe that "we the people" can end the drug war, reform monetary policy, significantly alter foreign military policy, diminish the size and power of bureaucracy, etc. on a whim, but in reality only a privileged few decide what the laws are and how the government operates. You don't get to vote on these things. These are policies agreed upon by both parties, and no real changes in them have been made in decades.
IVoteNone Its not my naive ideology, its my hope that we can do it, and as libertarian it should be you hope too, but to come back to my point, everything you just said you were correct, it is indeed a battle, however every point you made has nothing to do with police aka local foot soldiers, just like military they are given orders. So to drive the point home, if you are against any war will you vilify the soldiers, or perhaps you might want to look at generals?
Hope" is your sentimental preference to believe in something that is not feasible. It would be historically unprecedented not just for this country, but for the whole of all human civilization if a state of this size were to scale back voluntarily. The policies of greatest significance are cemented and cannot be changed through participation in the political process. Your hope and romantic notions of democracy are unsubstantiated by anything empirical.
So to drive the point home, if you are against any war will you vilify the soldiers, or perhaps you might want to look at generals?
This argument follows the fallacious logic that you can support the troops and not the war. If you say youre against the drug war, it is logically necessary to also be against those who voluntarily perpetuate the war and make it possible. Without their ethic of obedience to the orders of evil men, the evil men would be irrelevant.
IVoteNone To vilify those who protect you is absolutely ignorant. When we were attacked on 9/11 who protected your ass? The very soldiers lost their lives for you. When someone commits a crime, who puts away that person so they do no more harm to others and maybe you, the very police you vilify. And yes I can support man and women in the military, because they risk their lives and if we are attacked again, they not you will lose their lives.
"To vilify those who protect you is absolutely ignorant."
Wait a second, so not only do you get to have your medical license arbitrarily taken from you, spend all of your retirement savings defending yourself from absurdities, and get to spend months in a luxurious cell where you don't even have to go through the trouble of planning your day, but you also get the privilege of paying the salary of these people who make you buy their "protection". You're right, what an ungrateful prick.
IVoteNone I wasnt talking about this case, I already said that this case is terrible, and police were given orders to arrest this doctor, are you playing ignorant? Or are you for real? Police take orders from above.
"When we were attacked on 9/11 who protected your ass?"
No one. Around this time however a bunch of people claiming to act in my interest (who of course politely commanded me to pay for this service or be imprisoned) invaded a random country and arbitrarily killed hundreds of thousands of people. If they hadn't done this it's reasonable to assume I would be exactly where I am today.
IVoteNone You apparently have zero knowledge of how many terrorist acts have been stopped by the "evil" people in FBI in coloration with local police. And how was Afghanistan a random country? And the so called "evil" police are the very people who catch murderers and rapists and the rest of the vile rejects.
"IVoteNone You apparently have zero knowledge of how many terrorist acts have been stopped by the "evil" people in FBI in coloration with local police."
Enough to balance the amount of terrorist acts they themselves commit? Doubtful
"And how was Afghanistan a random country?"
Afghanistan is an impotent state which poses no threat to our security.
This is when police do their jobs, most of the time however they are harassing drivers, prostitutes, and junkies. They commit crime and operate with impunity, because the state defines "crime" in such a way so as to make their criminal actions legal. Historically and empirically all states do this. Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, Revolutionary France, etc. are just extreme examples of where this phenomenon becomes so apparent that even ordinary state educated patriots take notice.
If someone orders you to do something terrible, the appropriate course of action isn't to do it. It's not like police are slaves or draftees. If doing horrible things is a career requirement, then be an accountant. Without their irrational ethic of unconditional obedience, the bad guys at the top are irrelevant crazy assholes barking orders at people. There are historical examples of people at the top giving orders and simply being ignored.
IVoteNone Yes all policeman do is terrorize the people, forget the fact that they lose their lives for your protection, and maybe we should jail them all while we at it. To change the laws or to fight to change the law where police will only protect the innocence, I suppose that idea is above you, and lets all look at few cases where the law is obscene and put a stamp of evil on every honorable policeman out there.
Here's my point, if you reason "huh? Why should I have to pay for someone else's kid to go to school? I don't have a kid." The people who are going to show up at your doorstep with guns to haul you off to jail where you will likely be raped and brutalized are your "honorable" police officers. You know who else provides "protection" through threats of force?; the mafia. I will pay for state schools for the same reason I would pay the mafia; Im under the gun.
IVoteNone I am done trying to prove anything to you, if you think that police are terrorists, the only thing I can say is G'd forbid something happens to you, do not ask police for help.
My "protectors" seize more of my earnings than any petty mugger could ever dream to.
"do not ask police for help."
I pay their salary. They owe me. Just because I resent the fact that I'm forced to purchase their services at whatever price this monopolist demands doesn't mean I can't use the services I'm forced to purchase, and doesn't mean my resentment is irrational or unjustified. It's perfectly rational and perfectly justified.
IVoteNone First of all muggers are not the only vile despots, not sure which magical land you live in. And I dont know how the idea of hating police is justified simply because the law is hard to change, unlike you I hate the laws which make the innocent suffer, and unlike you because I hate these laws I will do everything to help to change them, all you do is hate the police and do nothing to change the laws because its hard.
You are wrong and being very negative. What you can do is join groups that lobby congress for your interest in mind....that's is how our current republic largely works. Reps tend to listen to lobbyists more than individuals as a matter of money and practicality....it can be heard to get one "voice" from 700,000 constituents.
All I want is for government to get smaller. Has that ever happened in human history? Not without an economic collapse or military defeat, after which government immediately grows again. The incentives that are inherent to government ensure it will grow. No lobby can stop it. Like trying to stop a person from breathing. The only way to reduce government size is to abolish it completely & replace it with services that compete for voluntary contracts in a free society.
You're half correct. He's right and being very negative. Being negative only comes from a rational assessment of the situation. It is not feasible to significantly alter drug policy, or monetary policy, or tax policy, or anything of that nature. These are things we do not get to vote on.
I don't think you understand what I am saying. He is wrong, because he fails to understand the double edged sword of representative democracy and interest groups. You can support the groups that get what you want. I don't know, but Cato needs to start lobbying the 1/5 to 1/3 of the Republican and Democratic parties that are sympathetic to similar issues.
It is not an issue about Corporations (Social Security reform failed), and it is not necessarily an issue about big government, since Health insurance reform is basically going to subsidize the health insurance industry. It sucks, yes, but you are not futile.
Cops as bullies, so what else is new? Everybody is a criminal to them unless they're really rich. The cops of cops are called the rat squad. That pretty much says it all. Conservatives just think that everyone else needs to be punished.
I suppose we can expect more of this if the health care bill passes. Typical government foul up. My own experiences dealing with chronic pain (due to a few injuries) confirm what this video tells you. Doctors are simply afraid of what the government will do to them if they prescribe effective pain medication to their patients. Obviously, more government intervention will make it worse. Hope and change, indeed.
Why the hell do you want mob rule anyway? Fuck democracy. Fuck government. Let people govern themselves. Democracy is NOT that. Democracy is an illusion used to keep people thinking that they govern themselves, when in fact it's at best a giant mob.
These people are idiots because they can't see that the US isn't really a democracy... and yet you wish to give them the power to decide en masse how YOU should live your life. That's just fucking retarded.
Law enforcement is not the problem. Police are just doing a job that we told them to do. In our democratic society most people don't want to legalize drugs.
Dont go after the hard working cops, go after the politicians who sign the laws.
On a side note. Drug legalization can only come after we outlaw all government social projects. Other wise we will be paying for the losers who cant control their addictions.
"WE" don't have a choice... we are NOT A DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY!!!"
We are a Republic.... governed by a Constitution and the war on drugs is clearly unconstitutional. All laws making drugs illegal are unconstitutional. This country must be cleansed of these fucking control freaks before we can get it back.
When I said that the US is a democracy I was being pragmatic, I wasn't saying I liked it or agreed with it. The country that Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, John Jay, James Madison, and Alexander Hamilton gave you was a Republic. That is clear and no one denies it. However a Republic always sits on a razors edge, if you can even keep it. Its not easy and requires that freedom lovers remain always vigilant and active.
Yes, and that is why many of us are standing up and drawing a line in the sand. There may only be 5 or 6 million of us right now who are very active... but I believe we will grow those numbers to at least 30 to 60 million who are very active and demanding that Congress and the President and that all State Legislatures and Governors obey the Constitution or else.... yes, we must threaten them.... but we must do it as a large group. The authoritarians have control now, and we must take it back.
I don't think anyone, or at least any reasonable people are arguing not getting painkillers for severe chronic pain/dying people, even though we're against harder drug legalization.
The Drug War is one of the biggest failures in America, but that doenst stop social/religious conservatives and nanny state liberals from continuing it.
The government doesn't need to protect us from ourselves. It's called personal responsibility. Maybe it should be illegal to drive cars and use sharp objects too.
You would be surprised about how stupid people can be.
Stabbing children with sharp objects. Drunk Driving. yeah. the Government needs to hire everyone 24/7 stupid patrol. and thats ALL the Governments. Russia, China, England, America. everyone.

OMG poor doc. I feel for him, but that is not to demonize police, guys be objective would you? The police is there to enforce the law, I bet most police who arrested this doc. thought "this is just absurd". I agree its stupid, so you have to and change the law and not "kill the messenger"
samuils 2 years ago
The police are not messengers. Messengers don't initiate force against peaceful civilians or kidnap you & lock you in prison for non-violent crime. The law we have today is an unjust coercive monopoly. Just doing your job, is an excuse for people who don't want to take an objective look at their actions. Just because it's the law, doesn't mean it's moral. I would respect police much more if they worked for competing businesses. Then they'd serve consumers instead of bureaucrats.
truthadvocate 2 years ago 3
truthadvocate I dont care how you classify the law,the law is just that LAW, once again they only enforce what is on the books, are you telling me that cops made the law?Its their job to enforce it. And I am absolutely against demonizing police its stupid to do so.Are there some bad cops?yes there are,but the majority are looking after you safety and apply the law,and once again if you want the law to change, then taking it up with cops isnt going to do anything,go to the courts and change it.
samuils 2 years ago
I agree with you about not blaming cops for the laws that the legislature passes - they don't control that. However, they do have some leeway so far as where they focus their enforcement efforts. For instance, they can focus on traffic infractions, robbery, murder, etc (traditional areas) rather than going after cancer patients for having a joint.
strongbadXCP 2 years ago
Go to the courts and change it? You make it sound easy. I have no influence as an individual. My vote counts for nothing. I would need millions of dollars to influence politicians, judges, etc. I cannot compete with the special interest groups & corporations that fund political campaigns. The idea that we the people control our government & it works for us is an illusion. It works for the people who can afford to fill the pockets of politicians. We are just flies on the windshield.
truthadvocate 2 years ago 3
truthadvocate I never said it was easy, and sorry if my reply made it sound this way. My point was that policeman are only doing their job , nothing more nothing less, and to demonize them, isnt going to help or make anything better.
samuils 2 years ago
Their job involves, to a certain extent at least, terrorizing innocent people and creating chaos under the guise of justice and order. The fact that they're receiving a salary for it is irrelevant.
IVoteNone 2 years ago
IVoteNone Its not the fact that they are receiving a salary for it, it is a fact that they are doing their job by the book in most cases. Just because you decided to see what they are doing as some kind of terror doesnt make it so, and once again, not going to help either. If you dont like a particular law then go through the legal process to change it, instead of being obnoxious in calling the very people who will protect you terrorists.
samuils 2 years ago
This is what ideological people love to do. All scientific observation about reality is invalid and everything is a matter of subjective interpretation. Here we have direct evidence of police officers threatening a licensed doctor for prescribing a drug his professional opinion deems medically necessary, and your argument for why this constitutes a legitimate usage of force is that "they were just doing their jobs by the books."
IVoteNone 2 years ago
If you take an objective, rational, and empirical look into history, you will find that most terrorism was committed through legal means by people "just doing their jobs by the books."
IVoteNone 2 years ago
This naive ideological view is inconsistent with reality. It might please you to believe that "we the people" can end the drug war, reform monetary policy, significantly alter foreign military policy, diminish the size and power of bureaucracy, etc. on a whim, but in reality only a privileged few decide what the laws are and how the government operates. You don't get to vote on these things. These are policies agreed upon by both parties, and no real changes in them have been made in decades.
IVoteNone 2 years ago
IVoteNone Its not my naive ideology, its my hope that we can do it, and as libertarian it should be you hope too, but to come back to my point, everything you just said you were correct, it is indeed a battle, however every point you made has nothing to do with police aka local foot soldiers, just like military they are given orders. So to drive the point home, if you are against any war will you vilify the soldiers, or perhaps you might want to look at generals?
samuils 2 years ago
Hope" is your sentimental preference to believe in something that is not feasible. It would be historically unprecedented not just for this country, but for the whole of all human civilization if a state of this size were to scale back voluntarily. The policies of greatest significance are cemented and cannot be changed through participation in the political process. Your hope and romantic notions of democracy are unsubstantiated by anything empirical.
IVoteNone 2 years ago
So to drive the point home, if you are against any war will you vilify the soldiers, or perhaps you might want to look at generals?
This argument follows the fallacious logic that you can support the troops and not the war. If you say youre against the drug war, it is logically necessary to also be against those who voluntarily perpetuate the war and make it possible. Without their ethic of obedience to the orders of evil men, the evil men would be irrelevant.
IVoteNone 2 years ago
IVoteNone To vilify those who protect you is absolutely ignorant. When we were attacked on 9/11 who protected your ass? The very soldiers lost their lives for you. When someone commits a crime, who puts away that person so they do no more harm to others and maybe you, the very police you vilify. And yes I can support man and women in the military, because they risk their lives and if we are attacked again, they not you will lose their lives.
samuils 2 years ago
"To vilify those who protect you is absolutely ignorant."
Wait a second, so not only do you get to have your medical license arbitrarily taken from you, spend all of your retirement savings defending yourself from absurdities, and get to spend months in a luxurious cell where you don't even have to go through the trouble of planning your day, but you also get the privilege of paying the salary of these people who make you buy their "protection". You're right, what an ungrateful prick.
IVoteNone 2 years ago
IVoteNone I wasnt talking about this case, I already said that this case is terrible, and police were given orders to arrest this doctor, are you playing ignorant? Or are you for real? Police take orders from above.
samuils 2 years ago
"When we were attacked on 9/11 who protected your ass?"
No one. Around this time however a bunch of people claiming to act in my interest (who of course politely commanded me to pay for this service or be imprisoned) invaded a random country and arbitrarily killed hundreds of thousands of people. If they hadn't done this it's reasonable to assume I would be exactly where I am today.
IVoteNone 2 years ago
IVoteNone You apparently have zero knowledge of how many terrorist acts have been stopped by the "evil" people in FBI in coloration with local police. And how was Afghanistan a random country? And the so called "evil" police are the very people who catch murderers and rapists and the rest of the vile rejects.
samuils 2 years ago
"IVoteNone You apparently have zero knowledge of how many terrorist acts have been stopped by the "evil" people in FBI in coloration with local police."
Enough to balance the amount of terrorist acts they themselves commit? Doubtful
"And how was Afghanistan a random country?"
Afghanistan is an impotent state which poses no threat to our security.
IVoteNone 2 years ago
This is when police do their jobs, most of the time however they are harassing drivers, prostitutes, and junkies. They commit crime and operate with impunity, because the state defines "crime" in such a way so as to make their criminal actions legal. Historically and empirically all states do this. Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, Revolutionary France, etc. are just extreme examples of where this phenomenon becomes so apparent that even ordinary state educated patriots take notice.
IVoteNone 2 years ago
"Police take orders from above."
IVoteNone 2 years ago
IVoteNone Yes all policeman do is terrorize the people, forget the fact that they lose their lives for your protection, and maybe we should jail them all while we at it. To change the laws or to fight to change the law where police will only protect the innocence, I suppose that idea is above you, and lets all look at few cases where the law is obscene and put a stamp of evil on every honorable policeman out there.

It's perfectly rational and perfectly justified.
IVoteNone 2 years ago 2
IVoteNone First of all muggers are not the only vile despots, not sure which magical land you live in. samuils 2 years ago
You are wrong and being very negative. What you can do is join groups that lobby congress for your interest in mind....that's is how our current republic largely works. Reps tend to listen to lobbyists more than individuals as a matter of money and practicality....it can be heard to get one "voice" from 700,000 constituents.
Gyrode 2 years ago
All I want is for government to get smaller. Has that ever happened in human history? Not without an economic collapse or military defeat, after which government immediately grows again. The incentives that are inherent to government ensure it will grow. No lobby can stop it. Like trying to stop a person from breathing. The only way to reduce government size is to abolish it completely & replace it with services that compete for voluntary contracts in a free society.
truthadvocate 2 years ago
"You are wrong and being very negative."
You're half correct. He's right and being very negative. Being negative only comes from a rational assessment of the situation. It is not feasible to significantly alter drug policy, or monetary policy, or tax policy, or anything of that nature. These are things we do not get to vote on.
IVoteNone 2 years ago
I don't think you understand what I am saying. He is wrong, because he fails to understand the double edged sword of representative democracy and interest groups.
(Many forget the active part)
XCritonX 2 years ago
Yes, and that is why many of us are standing up and drawing a line in the sand. There may only be 5 or 6 million of us right now who are very active... but I believe we will grow those numbers to at least 30 to 60 million who are very active and demanding that Congress and the President and that all State Legislatures and Governors obey the Constitution or else.... yes, we must threaten them.... but we must do it as a large group. The authoritarians have control now, and we must take it back.

It's pure insanity to keep people in pain because of the feigned piety of the moralists in the country.

The Drug War is one of the biggest failures in America, but that doenst stop social/religious conservatives and nanny state liberals from continuing it.

What do you mean the drug war is a failure? Do you not read of record drug busts yearly? ;)

If you have enough money, you get the care level you can afford. That will not change with with government health care.

The government doesn't need to protect us from ourselves. It's called personal responsibility. Maybe it should be illegal to drive cars and use sharp objects too.

Or eat McDonalds two times a day. I'd say the number of people who die from fatty foods outweighs the number who die from prescription drugs.

This is a tough issue, and one, I suspect, that helps Leftists get elected with the help of Libertarians.

Leftists push for these kind of nanny state laws on the federal level, iIncluding Populist Republican "moderates".
If the Far left had control, they would control the entire medical establishment, and ban what they feel is necessary, like the smoking bans.
I hate smokers, but I would vote against a forced ban.
