This mother is really pissing me off! For God sake grow the hell up and administer even the most basic punishment. These children should be taken to a more sane person(s) to raise them.
I would have snapped. grabbed the snack off of her. thrown it in the bin. and told he to get to her room. no counting to ten bullshit. I would have dragged her to her room. if she came out, I'd put her back. no matter how long it took. when she is ready to act right, she can come out and eat dinner.

There's a VERY big difference between child abuse and disciplinary action. She had absolutely NO respect for her mom. If I were the mom, I would have HAD to hit her. Sometimes, its the last thing you can do.
I dunno why, but I feel very sad for Jackie. Mostly because... I can't call her a spoiled brat. If my parents acted like wusses and never taught me anything, I would probably beat the everloving crap out of them too. Jackie's mostly sad... Other than that, the mom needs to step up.

I'm watching this and I realize that my family is very similar. We shut down or lash out. Only thing is that my mom yelled and smacked. We learned our lesson.
I feel for that family and hope they're doing better now. But that mom needed to grow a spine. She outweighs her daughter by well over a hundred pounds. Not reaching out and pinning her arms and MAKING her stop hitting her just made it worse. Kids respect authority when they know that authority will follow through. Notice how Nanny Deb said "go to your room" and she trotted right up.

I know these kids now. Jacqueline is 14 and Colin is 13.. She doesn't hit her mom anymore but she has alot of listening issues..she is just a bad kid in my oppinion. Colin has mellowed out so much. I am his best friend :)

I feel for that family and hope they're doing better now. But that mom needed to grow a spine. She outweighs her daughter by well over a hundred pounds. Not reaching out and pinning her arms and MAKING her stop hitting her just made it worse. Kids respect authority when they know that authority will follow through. Notice how Nanny Deb said "go to your room" and she trotted right up.

I know these kids now. Jacqueline is 14 and Colin is 13.. She doesn't hit her mom anymore but she has alot of listening issues..she is just a bad kid in my oppinion. Colin has mellowed out so much. I am his best friend :)

that just breaks my heart. people, this is a child of 8 years old. she lost her daddy when she was 7. she's a baby...she doesn't know how to process or understand death! have some compassion! i also feel for her mom and brother. poor young mom lost the love of her life. such a tragedy.

@Mobee211 Sorry, lots of kids suffer loss at her age and younger but they do not all resort to such extreme violence and bad behavior, she uses her loss as an excuse to misbehave and abuse her brother and mother, and also for attention. Her mother has let her get away with this behavior, let's hope the nanny can straighten her out.
