I had a Verizon IPhone 4s and switched to AT&T iPhone 4s because of two main things. Faster download speeds, and rollover. With all of the complaints about AT&T's network, I've never had any single problem whatsoever.
AT&T, you suck and you were even voted with the worst customer satisfaction to prove it with T-Mobile ranking at number 2 and Verizon ranking at number 1 for best customer satisfaction which is another reason why you guys are merging with T-Mobile & buying them out since AT&T and T-Mobile were voted the 2 worst wireless providers in customer satisfaction rates which means the 2 worst rated wireless carriers are now merging & getting bigger instead!
At&T and Verizon might be a little too pricey but their nationwide coverage is actually massive. I use NET10's unlimited plan which is only 50 bucks a month so I get to use BOTH verizon and At&t's network since NET10 rides on both their towers throughout the nation. Having GSM and CDMA capabilities is a huge plus not to mention none of my calls ever get dropped. If you're into saving money and using an incredible service, switch to NET10 like I did.
This would only matter if you got to use up your unused minutes before you were charged for the next month's minutes. You only get those unused minutes if you go OVER on your next months minutes, and if you are a person who often has unused minutes, that isn't going to happen.

how verizon gets back at the roll over minutes is that most people these days are on verizon. You get mobile to mobile to any verizon customer known to man so no minutes are used. Honestly....verizon is the best company to have if you want coverage.

let me tell you while i like my phone, verizon has terrible insurance plans. I got the newset palm pre plus...which is way cool.....and i lost it. So i get it back with the insurance company but they give me last years model. I'm like screw this. if i wanted a phoen with a trackpad i would have kept my blackberry! I can't comment on the service b/c when i go their usually everyone is in school or working and i have two by my house, so it's never overly packed. I belong on my familys family plan.

The original AT&T as it was in 1983 has not existed since 2005 when it was bought by SBC Communications which itself is an AT&T derivative like Verizon. SBC decided to rename itself at&t and thus the "new" at&t was born which has nothing to do with the original company.

AT&T is working very hard to improve its coverage, so Verizon shouldn't even be so cocky about their coverage at this point. AT&T has the R&D, and resources power to compete and even surpass!! ATT has had 3G for plenty of time. Furthermore, you're comparing EVDO RevA vs HSDPA. Totally different. AT&T didn't deploy it that slowly compared to the rest of the world. It's just insufficient.

I have AT&T and all these commercials are lies. All of my minutes disappear at the end of each month and are just lost. None of them rolls over ever.
As I said... My cellular service is with AT&T. All of my minutes die at the end of the month. As much as I would like it. not one rolls over. Unless I use them by the end of each month, they're lost and that's it.
verizon doesn't do rollover minutes because everyone is able to use all their minutes each month, as with at&t you'll have a shit load leftover because of their spotty coverage you wont be able to use them

One other thing, what good are AT&T's roll-over minutes if you get poor coverage and too many dropped calls since dropped calls tend to eat up your minutes anyways.
Those minutes would be good if my att phone would work well. I guess they want me to roll over my minutes until they fix the network? Why would I need a signal booster when I dont need it for the other carriers? ..

The original AT&T as it was in 1983 has not existed since 2005 when it was bought by SBC Communications which itself is an AT&T derivative like Verizon. SBC decided to rename itself at&t and thus the "new" at&t was born which has nothing to do with the original company.
The original AT&T is a relic of the past and it'd be stupid to compare any of the baby bells (which includes the new at&t aka SBC) to that company.
P.S. AT&T did not avoid being sued. It was forcefully broken apart by the gov.

Yep @aurias01, I know for a fact that GSM cant compete with CDMA technology because my wife & I have been with Cingular, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, & Nextel & we had a horrible experience with Cingular now AT&T and with T-Mobile, but Sprint was good to us & Verizon has been good to us & we've been with Verizon since the Summer of 2007 & still loving it which is more than what AT&T can say about alot of their customers since so many AT&T customers are dying for their contract with AT&T to expire.

just to put this in perspective;
there are 19,355 cities in the US, and AT&T only covers 9,400 of them; that is less than half.
AT&T covers 97% of the PEOPLE in the USA, not the LANDSPACE; big difference..
in the major cities; there is little difference in network capabilities, but outside major cities; AT&T is awful. the coverage is spotty.
AT&T is faster than Verizon, but if you can't get service, that speed is meaningless..
*lesson; go with Verizon, these commercials are stupid.

well, i travel from New Jersey to Cincinnati for college all the time and my friends with AT&T lose service for pretty much the whole trip, while my Verizon service is always steady.

ATT has had 3G for plenty of time. Furthermore, you're comparing EVDO RevA vs HSDPA. Totally different. AT&T didn't deploy it that slowly compared to the rest of the world. It's just insufficient.
Verizon doesn't have 4G yet. They plan on deploying this yr. Show me what 4G option they have right now. Don't count sprint either. WiMax is diff, and Sprint will screw itself over while rest of the world goes LTE.
