@justtakeiteasy I wouldn't worry to much, though this is the ER version of the 777-200, its still got some excellent range. In fact, the 777-200LR is the world's longest range aircraft, and the two aren't so different range wise. The only thing is that the 777 has to follow ETOPS regulations compared to 4 engined aircraft, but again, not a problem. Enjoy your trip, British Airways is a great airline.
@rachaelmatt wow just 2 engines? thats y it took that long. i do Heathrow to Mauritius in A340 in 12h. but considering its only 2 engines, thats amazing
@joshun28 A 4 engine plane wouldn't have done it any faster! 4 engine planes dont fly faster than 2 engine planes you know! :O It was just a head wind for most of the flight, hint why it took so long, nothing to do with the type of plane or number of engines!
@joshun28 Well a 777 and an A380 get from Dubai to London with only about 10mins difference! I flew from Heathrow to Maldives on an A340 and back on an A330 the flying time was near enough the same! So whatever, Im really not that bothered :/
@justtakeiteasy Why? That's no problem, the GE90 engines (Just 2) are as just as powerful. I been flying Heathrow - San Francisco with United airlines which have the PW engines and we were safe,
you must be a VIP or something you get a ride to the steps and i ALWAYS have to walk lol

@rachaelmatt Sorry i meant a 4 engine plane will take the same time a 2 engine plane would in flight?
joshun28 9 months ago
@rachaelmatt i had to look this up because i think ur completely wrong...
A340-200 - Max cruising speed 914km/h
A330-200 - Max cruising speed 880km/h
A380-800 - Max cruising speed M 0.88 which is over 1000km/h
So from ur point of view an A380 would not be able to go faster than an A330?

@joshun28 "A380-800 - Max cruising speed M 0.88 which is over 1000km/h"
Incorrect. M 0.89=945 km/h, 587 mph, 510 knots. Check your info since the A380's maximum design speed is
M 0.96 (1020 km/h, 634 mph, 551 knots) That would make a big difference on long haul flights when compared to the A340-500 (similar range)

@joshun28 Seriously 4 engines isnt any faster than 2 engines? so your telling me an a321 is faster than a 747 or a380 inflight?
