Is audi basically saying that i can drive an A8 like this and all the shit he does in the movie and my car will drive and look new no matter what.? Where do i sign. ?
audis are fucking awesome, my moms old audi from the 90 has been repaired so many time an look better than his car..it has a 5 cd changer, heated seat, sun light, and is overall awesome
@byAudiQuattro Hm, I'm actually not as huge a fan of the latest as I am the 2010 model. I think the 2010 sort of stands out more from the other models that the 2011 does-- I have to actually squint at the badge to tell its an A8, not an A6 or an A4.
@lifeinhd Wow really? Well, I feel that the latest model looks more distinctive actually. In the past when I was not very familiar with the Audi range, I couldn't differentiate an A6 and an A8 from the front. Anyway, both are fabulous cars. I agree that the latest A8 could have looked slightly more distinctive; its A4-like rear lights don't look very suitable for a range topper like the A8.
@byAudiQuattro In the past, I could generally tell from the grille size-- but now you're forced to focus more on the headlights, and all I see is a pile of LEDs. I know each model has the LEDs arranged in a different pattern, but I still can't tell them apart with 100% certainty until the car goes past and I read the badge. I'm also not a fan of the yacht shifter or the fat steering wheel (or the round one-- thought they ditched that in 2005?).
@lifeinhd Hmm... Well actually I feel that each model's LED arrangement is unique to each model. I can distinguish between any Audi model from a distance. I personally like the yacht shifter- even though the traditional baton-like shifter is still best for manual gear changes. I think that the yacht shifter adds a touch of elegance to the cabin of the A8.
@byAudiQuattro I think it looks a bit out of place. They say it serves as an armrest while you play with the NAV system, but even the manual shifter in my old Corolla serves as a perfectly fine armrest, and it isn't any special shape.
@lifeinhd Okay, I understand your viewpoint. I must say though that the shifter in the S-Class is weird. It is actually anchored near the signal stalk and the place where the gearbox should have been looks just like a shifter as well... just that it isn't a shifter. Lol.
@byAudiQuattro Really? What is it? I always thought MB put the starter button on top of the shifter, so the ultra-lazy wouldn't need to move their hand from the start button to the shifter when they want to go somewhere.
@lifeinhd Oh I was referring to the current S-Class. Mercedes has stopped fitting starter buttons since the last generation of Benzes.
I can't help but feel that the shifter start button is just so fiddly... and you might accidentally switch off the engine while trying to put the car in reverse. :) lololol

At 2:35, going 100 MPH at only 3k RPM? Pretty amazing car....

@lifeinhd Our A6 does 100MPH at 3000rpm too. Perhaps you might want to test drive an Audi someday :)

@byAudiQuattro I have driven the A8, I even have a video of it on my channel. I wasn't being sarcastic, I was admiring the car ;)

@lifeinhd Hope you get to own one soon :D

@byAudiQuattro I hope so too, it was an amazing car (though it felt RIDICULOUSLY long).

@lifeinhd Haha yes it is. I was in the back seat of the latest model today, it has cool lighting on the ceiling, very Star-Trek like! :)
