  • In the world of 4x4 why is this special? Any 4x4 should be able to do this!

  • FU!U!!!Russian UAZ drove to the middle of the puddle and not stuck to

  • Gelandewagen =D!!!

  • Yes But ....... 0:44 Is The First.

    UNIMOG

  • god you cant do that angle with a military G-wagon without flipping over... i know i did try

  • @security225 cause the roof is too heavy

  • HG = Habe Geld ^^

  • Sweet!

  • круто!

  • i always wished during christmas that my garage would be filled with gelandewagens and defenders

  • Did you wet your shoes?

  • @LiveTheLimit .... No, the driver told us, that water would come in through all these rust holes..... so I kept my feet high. A new G does not leak, not like LR Defenders wich leak all the time.

  • @wodanowitz defenders rule!

  • @wodanowitz

Leaking is actually a good thing in some situations. Try crossing a river in a 4x4 that floats... scary. Luckily the G is heavy enough that its probably not an issue

  • there is water leaking at the door. not really made for driving true water

  • @000Freek .... the floor of this G was so rusty, that it had some big holes. The driver told each passenger, to take up the feats so no body got wet.

A normal G wich is in good shape, does not leak any water. You can stand still for ever if you want to, in 50cm. deep water and nothing will come in.

Other 4x4 like Land Rover Defender do leak. You stop in the water, it starts to leak.

Good in due of no leaking are Nissan Patrol.

  • @wodanowitz thanks for the info :-)

  • @wodanowitz Hey, 50cm is the top of alloy wheel of the defender. This is too low to hit the interior.

The offroaders who cross water a lot, drill special holes in the floor in order to let the water in and let the car stay on the ground. If the water doesn't get inside - the car floats and you lose control over it.

  • @gazzzaloddi ....... you are absolutely right. Thats why new Defenders let the water come in.

Other ones like Patrol, dondt leak but in too deep water, they float.

  • very nice video. love it =)

can you look pls my first Mercedes G Video ?

    /watch?v=RcfgME96f10

  • And they even got Borat to drive it!

  • @Danger555 HAHAhAHAHAHA OMG It's BORAT driving! :D

  • The only blemish was when the Mercedes was going to slough much we had to clean the bearings, seals the wheel! Was boring.

  • Nice !

  • i had a g-class and it was great off road.but i have to be honest here in the states its way to hard to get parts and its very unreliable. i sold it and bought a h1 hummer. the h1 has proven to be more reliable and much easir to get parts for. plus the h1 will do things the g would never do.the only disadvantge ive found is the size of the h1 makes some areas a little hard to get in and out of.

  • What to say, Merc'!!!

  • wtff that is too gnagster

  • my G 500 uses 385/21 tyres. Great

  • i have a 2006 G500 and I am using 265/ 18 tires. I need to beef it up though. What tires can I use?? What tires are u using here in this video?

  • I will try to get the infos you desire and will come back on you.

  • I guess the driver wouldnt want to get any mud on the drivers side doorsil, he might get his pants dirty!

  • How deep did the sign say the water was?

  • 120cm. ... but I was told, at this filming moment, it was about 90cm. Take a look at the Unimog going through in the vid

    Unimog Ötigheim Teil 2

    Enjoy.

  • Good to see John Stossel enjoying some time off from exposing the federal govt.

    Now, back to work John!

  • Only 2 Tyres were in the muddy water 4 tyres should me there then only the really fun will be there.

  • Selfish guy let the passenger get wet while keeping himself dry.

  • he's nothing for a G !!!

  • ебанистическая машина...

  • damned... wow

  • demonstrates very nicely how much the G can be titled without tipping over...!

  • i have a G alos,it is great..look carefull it doesnt go to right side..it has great balance tool behind of rear diferantial,it balance G all time (i dont name of that part in english) it is really last point of tecnich..

  • Вода глубока 90 zentimeter

  • а воды сколько вытелко))))

  • This should be one of the best off road vechicles in the market today!! Really good car.

  • the passenger had his window open, must have driven through there earlier....

  • Yes, as it was a kind of demo, you could ride with this prof driver. He knows that track very well and could push the car to the limits. Never do this not knowing the track or being out there alone.

  • The overall height of the car is 1.97m.

With the big tyres this one may have 2metres.

The center of gravity is very low, so you can drive on sidetilts like this one with no problem.

  • how low is the CG? how did you not tip over at that angle?

  • And this is why its called a G-Wagon! Only suv i truly admire

  • was there any water came into the cab?

  • Yes, but only cause the floorbody was so rusted, that it had holes inside :-)))

Normal on a G, you can stop in water 2 feet high as long as you want and then drive on, no water will come in.

  • super, the Mercedes G is great.

  • poor poor driving

  • Why? Please explain, we all like to learn ;-)

  • the wheel thats in the water, that you cant see, if it go"s in to a hole or rut, hes over!

  • you get that? he looks like he knows that place well, dont take it at a silly angel like that on the trail!

  • Hi churd, yeah, I got that. You are right, and I all ready gave answer on this one to Mbalto. This was on the UNIMOG Testtrack in Oetigheim Germany and the driver just wanted to demonstrate the capability of the vehicle driving on a side slope. NEVER DRIVE LIKE THIS ON UNKNOWN TERRAIN !!!

  • are you from germany and are you 88 years old? they are very capability, but, and its a big BUT, they have engines taken from a car and do not have enuf low down torque. they all have there downfalls!

  • Nope, not from Germany and not 88 years old, still a long life to get that old ;-) A lot of 4x4 have car engines wich were modified for the use offroad. In reference to torque, it depends wich engine you choose.

  • I guess that are not the same torque figures as a nice V8 puts out, but it does the job.

And, right now, I think the best offroad car you might get for your money is the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon JK. Ultra low gearing, lockers front and rear, electronic traction control, and dana 44 axles.

  • ok, i stand corrected about the torque thing! i had no idea about the spec of the rubicon till i looked it up! i am looking for a different jeep at the moment, ie not a landrover! thanks to you, thr rubicon's looking like it!! BUT the best budget 4x4 by far is a suzuki, for £200 you can mess with the bigboys!! well i say budget, been building mine for 4years and spent 4500! and its only half built! but the rubicon, you could be right!

  • Someone should tell that guy how to drive. You always hit the mud evenly, putting more weight on the inside tires will just get you stuck ans with open diffs all the power goes to the wrong tires, although the G wagon has lockers, it is still bad practice.

  • hey mister back-seat-driver-pants: you think maybe he was trying to keep water out of the intake or something?

  • This is true, but if it wasn't a G Wagon or capable 4x4 he would most likley been stuck. I have seen it a bunch of times. But the older G wagons are amazing vehicles for stock.

  • Hello Mbalto, you are right. But this here was shown to demonstrate the capability of the G driving on slopes. Nobody drives like that, if it is not necessary.

  • Ok, and thank you for your clarification. I was just pointing that you so people can realize that this is not good form or as safe. I realize the the G wagon is a fine off road vehicle and was not commenting on your video quality or anything other than the drivers choice. Thanks for the vid.

  • wow!

  • Borat + Beer = Bliss

  • next time Borat borrows your G ride without asking, peal some caps off in him.

  • looking at it I wouldnt bet it could stay on 4 wheels. Great engineering for low center of gravity.

  • Great job..İt is a G..it can pass more harder places too

  • that did sorta look like him...

    VERHY NICE!

  • was that Borat behind the wheel?
