  • omgg is thad paikea ?

  • Ngati's are very proud, full of respect for their tupuna & it is a shame that particular "Ngati Anthem" was chosen and then not taught properly with the mana it deserves. I too have Tipuna living here in Ruatoria who are very very fussy about how that song is sung. In saying that I went to Tamatea Intermediate (& Primary..& High) & we never had Kapa Haka in all those years, my neices are probably in this video so kia kaha tamariki ma, waiata mai, embrace our reo with the respect it deserves !!

  • Yes, I agree, what a shame they sang a Ngati Porou waiata 'cos now they have to put up with typical Ngati 'Blowbags' running them all down. This is a mainstream school, most of these kids are not Maori, and all I can say is good on them for embracing kapa haka, giving it a go, and enjoying yourselves. Shame on you, you haters...

  • yee ghe ngati porou al the way!! rom tokomaru bay iem a delamere!! maori side for life.x and btw they aynt got the pronounciation ryt........DONT SING IT IF UE DONT NO IT

  • wrong wrong wrong no no and how about no hu teaching u bay get ur own songs man i blame the tutors wrong words wrong actions wrong everything

    bleh

  • I did Kapa Haka this year far it was mean

  • yup .... tuatahi first of all. this song is from my iwi my region where i am from. and yes i dont think its right to perform such a waiata in the wrong way, ka aroha to the kids they are innoccent in all of this. there kaiako when doing paikea) should teach it correctly, they are too stiff in there movements aswell. do it right or dont do it at all. my aunties are strick when it comes to doing this song correctly!

  • gosh! do you ever appreciate peoples hard efforts? now you talking about this group, what do you have to offer that makes you so high above the rest of the maoris.

  • high above the rest ? paikea is a ngati porou song. there pronounciation is bad. and its wrong to do a song from my tribe when they do it slack like this, go up the east coast and performe it like this. the teacher would be buried in a hole . lol man if my nannies could see this performance

  • :T Takahia could be better and the singing and er it goes too fast.

They need a better teacher, especially if theyre doing Ngati Porou songs.

  • fuken good voices man...

    but.... DO IT BETTER MAN!!!

it was a good try... but that was just slack actions... how old are you guysz... my 4 year old nieces does it better!!

not dissing you guysz.... but just saying the truth!!

  • agreeed! but in a nice way lol.

  • hold up, is it really our tamariki's fault that their tipuna didnt teach them the right way? and has anybody actually TOLD them that what theyre doing is wrong? how exactly are they meant to know? theyre just kids!!! theyre as good as their kaiako. dont blame the tamariki, blame the kaiako theyre the ones that taught them wrong!!!

  • Tamatea Inter Hall!!! I remember when i was kaea for the tam Int kapa haka and had to perform there with porritt primary and all the other kura around the motu in 2003... does anybody know if lomi shaumkel and dee still take the kapa haka for tamatea or nah??

  • you cant haka

  • This is awesome!

to the haters tho, if your "good" enough to call it wrong then why dont you get up off your arse and come and teach us young ones instead of sitting there talking crap

put your rendition up on youtube and let us tell you how much you suck

  • Thank you!!

    Nope its at Tamatea Intermediate.

  • for goodness sakes leave them alone. i cant stand maoris that nit pic kapa haka cos they have nothing else to do. they are just kids enjoying themselves. the crowd lived it too.

  • amen!!! im sick of it too! sad that some of the next generation have missed the biggest teachings...passion and love. Instead they see the "PERFORMANCE as being the culture"

You could be ten times better than these kids at singing / dancing...1000 times better...but until you learn , passion and love for your culture...you are essentially Pakehafied (hahahaha me too can make new language!...study harder in the english class and stop falling asleep:-)

  • what a load of bull you two are talking, its not that we think its all about the "performance", its the fact that THEY ARE DOING IT WRONG!!! when someone writes a haka or waiata then you do it like they said otherwise its disrespectful, whats more is that these kids will go and perform somewhere then international guest will think its the real deal WHEN ITS NOT!!! Show some respect and learn to do it properly instead of this half pie nonsense

  • gap you er yur only suposed ta do kapa haka if you know what you r tlkin abwt and if you know how to do it properly and you respect your elder. MAORI HARD!

  • Is that at taradale intermediate school?

  • OMG. What waz dat, dat was just wrong. WRONG WRONG WRONG

  • HOLZIZ wat da!!

  • yeah k ahma agree witchu ..!! dey was sooo tawt wrong yub yub..! dia actions as weo..! disgrace..! buh dey was b awguds thou..!

  • @bLeSs3dAsSUraNc3 Wow, they might not be great at kapa haka, but perhaps they could teach you how to write a real sentence... I mean really, what the hell are you saying? Duh?...

  • Ara bay....I'm from the land of paikea!!!

I'm from whangara and who ever taught you fullahs that waiata was wrong the first part of that waiata is wrong!!!!

  • @Ngati92 whoever taught you your English was wrong!!!! Baahahahahaha!!!!

  • haha i was dur.. was pretty good
