I don't know about the motion sensor thing, but the doors in my house often close by themselves. It freaked me out the first time and it has made me jump a few times since because sometimes they slam really hard. It's because of the angle of the house and the wind or something or other... it usually happens when a window is open, even if it's open just a little bit. Don't know if your house is like that too, but yeah!
