You can't get the same results kicking a heavy bag. The reason for this is to create micro fractures all along the bone. As it heals it becomes as hard as stone. Ongoing training compacts the bone for quicker results.
Retarded, absolutely crazy way of self inflicting damage to the bone. WTF, Muay Thai fighters from Thailand have never done anything as retarded as this.
whoa whoa whoa, to start off there is a difference between hitting something with your leg and hitting your leg with something. idk what kind of complications can arise from this but i would recomend something else. kick tires.
@AfricansEqualsAIDS Actually JCD movies are pretty accurate, but the maker of the video is a utter retard showing from his answers.
It is not bad to condition your shins with more concentrated force (aka a stick with a much smaller area then a bag. It improves your pain tolerance more then a heavy bag and is easier to do.
my friend one a vital kickboxing fight within a few seconds because they book kicked eachother bone to bone and the other guy just instantly stopped in pain. got the vid somewhere on facebook.
Ya see what really annoys me is that I wanna strengthen my hands, but my right middle finger's bone bow's because when I was 15 I punched my skateboard when I had an eating disorder due to a bad stomach, (I wasn't anorexic or some shit, I just didn't wanna shit every time after I ate).
Is there anything I can do that'll help that without fucking it up even more?
(I've spoken to Dr's and they tell me not to box or anything)
@m180322 see video for shaolin iron palm technique. Bear in mind it will take years. START LIGHT. WEAR HAND WRAPS. Ive been punching shit forever have cracked all my knuckles in half ripped my pinky right hand knuckle skin completely off I could see inside my hand. Docs said to never hit anything again. I box and do MMA 5 days a week now. At 160lbs I can punch harder than people 2x my size and have no problems w. hand pain ever anymore. Docs always tell you to stop to avoid legal trouble. Pricks
lol this is a stupid way to condition the shins, just hit a heavy bag. The shin building process has to be gradual or else you run the risk of making your shin even weaker which is what your doing... haha
@thecrazyoftheinsane Seems fine to me, hes not hitting himself that hard. Thai kickboxers can knock small trees over (pull the roots out) with their kicks and never have problems. Just shouldnt START OUT doing it this hard or you will probably fuck your leg. Azns do this shit all the time. You can also roll a smooth piece of wood firmly up and down your bones its the recommended way to start out.
@TiredOldGamerULX I dont know where you heard any of this or if you have ever talked to a world champion thai fighter before but trust me they dont do any of that, if they kick trees its banana trees which are about as soft as a heavy bag (they use the bark for wraps).
u really don't need to actively "condition" your shins - just hitting pads and doing bag work will do it naturally over time.... and that timescale is far less than it would take to get ready for a first fight!
Well this is indeed how you strengthen your bones but on your shins i suggest taking a stick of bamboo and just rolling it down your shin with pressure, if your strengthening your forearm make a fist very tightly and it will hurt less, and also don't hit yourself as hard as possible go for reps and then slowly hit harder with a lot of reps.
yes it deff works.. works well too.. read up on it.. been practiced by martial artists and athletes for centuries in many cultures , mostly asian (yea i cant spell for shit)
Yeah hey this aint good for your shins aye it actually causes tiny shin splints.. All this is doing is killing the nerves and the tissue around the shin which stops you from feeling anything..
yes that would be the point to it, so in MMA ( mixed martial arts) or any competition you want your bones stronger than your opponent, also it causes the brissels in the bone ( cuz your bones made up of thousands of tiny strands ) to heal thicker making the bone thicker and very strong. and almost unbreakable. so deading the nerves is the point besides strengthning the bone so for example when in the ring, kicking someones shin with your shin wont hurt u as much as him
anyone taking real martial arts -F that karate, i mean real like as in akido, ju jitsu, wushu, kaiushu, ti chi ,, anything that really teaches you to fight and defend , good for soccer players to i guess. if you like that sport ahah .. keep doing it bro any bone u can to or any chance you get , less chance yourll ever break a bone and thats always a good thing
no. it wont at all, actually its good to do it from a young age. Muay thai fighters in thailand start from the age of 6...by the time their adults, even 15 and 16, their shins are like metal poles. no joke. just start him on something soft, and then move to a heavy bag
no wont mess growth up just thicken his bones so he wont break them, drink lots of milk and iron and since hes so young start him off easier with thinner sicks and work his way up ..by 16 his bones should be 3 times as thick and strong if he plays soccer which im not a fan of but not the point itd be great for that
from what i gather, yes it will mess up your growth. i imagine it whacks out your bone remodelling rates (osteoblast/osteoclast ratio) the same way serious weightlifting does (which you also shouldn't do).
o yea i do it to my fingers as well by slamming them into a bucket of rocks .. starting with smaller rocks moving up to bigger ones as your finger bones get thicker (stronger) bit o have a set up for me to stand and kick with my shins and elbows ..ect. ect...
is it safe ?

Probably a better way to strengthen your shins is to take a damp towel and hit the bone up and down with repetition.
overthehill91 1 year ago
Dude, you'd do better kicking a "concrete" bag

i have a question. A lot of people says that if you do this, than you gonna be in a lot of pain in elderly. Is it true?

is not an intelligent think because when you are in the ring the adrenaline makes you feel anestetized
