  • I haven't set up a DAW in 10 year, and you have given me the information that I needed perfectly! Thanks so much!

  • I cant believe it!!! I saw couple day ago you teaching basket ball basics xD When I looked up for the thumbs I thought "oh! mannn could be that guy from basketball lessons?"

  • thnx man. you really helped me!!!!

  • 1:24 Midi OUT of the controler to Midi IN of the audio int

    Why isnt that enough???

  • Nicely explained!

  • I have recently put together a studio with a synth, sampler, KP3 and drum machine

my interface is a saffire pro 40. i am using Studio One Pro for my DAW. All instruments are USB so my question is do I need a midi interface to control all instrument tempo from the DAW or can tempo be controlled through USB.

  • Thank you bro ,finally someone explained detailed enough ,i was wondering what i was doing wrong..it turns out i gotta have both midi cables huh? good video keep it up!!!

  • You should have actually connected it in this video instead of drawing it

    im confusedd

  • These are the worst tutorials I have ever seen in my life.

  • @supersoulrecs This guy actually have some nice tutorials so don't judge everyone just because Ehow in general have bad tutorials. He show a nice tutorial how to record midi to audio and that is very handy if you have external hardware synths.

  • You. Are. A. Boss.

  • A FRIEND TOLD ME THAT USB ITS SLOW AND YOU CAN HAVE LATENCY WITH IT.. THAT IS BETTER TO CONNECT THE INTERFACE WITH MIDI TO HAVE REAL TIME RECORDING ... I WILL BE OK IF I DO THIS ?

  • oooo ok so i only have one from out to in i need them both? ok i work on cubase any tips?

  • Thank you stillmatic, Anyone know where to get drums for cubase?

or what vst out there are made for drums?

  • Can someone please help me, how can i get my m-audio keystation 61 to work on cubase? my computer recognised it and it works on fruity loops but i want to get it to work on cubase 5 so i can start learning to make beats on cubase

  • @ckentertainment10 create a new instrument track (HallionOne, Synth, Drum - Groove agent one.. ect.) just to the left of the track column is a list pane.. click the name of the track (above midi inserts and VST expressions), the options will drop down, find the input routing text.. yours may say "not connected" click it and select "all midi inputs" or "keystation 61" and it should work now.. you may have to do this every time you add a new track as i dont know a way to set them all at once

  • with new keyboards you dont need a midi interface.. so yo dont have to undesrtand this shit to use cubase... idiots

  • you write too word i see.

  • Isn't the Audio interface a Midi interface?

Audio is not midi - even I know that

  • @88SPIKE

Most common audio interfaces have Midi support with Midi In/Out so you can connect older synthesizers and keyboards.

  • confusing how you draw the extra usb port on the other side of the computer. apart from that it's easy to follow / if people cant understand that like the other guy said the should stay well clear of cubase and go no where near Rewire applications. maybe stick to Ejay for starters

  • People who have trouble understanding this should not go anywhere near Cubase.

  • agreed hahaha

  • I don't have an audio interface, all I have is the usb midi output from my yamaha keyboard and the usb in on my PC. This connection works well with fruity loops 8 so I don't understand why I need a audio interface for Cubase Le4

  • if you have usb you can just use that

  • do i need a midi thing for an electric guitar? im using the same software btw

  • By MIDI controller does he mean the keyboard or the wired device itself? This is confusing because I have a casio ctk 900 with midi in and out ports. If the audio interface also has midi in and out ports, does this mean I have to buy 2 sets of MIDI cables. Cause the ones I bought only have MIDI in and out and a usb cable.

  • I have a Casio Celviano AP-7 with midi In Out but now i have to buy a cable? Midi cable for in out + Usb? and how much that cost?

  • are you kidding me?!

  • ..mm...i didnt understand.. :D

  • AHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

  • thanks a lot. that was very helpfull. take care.

  • I helped me too in aclearing som of my doubts in connecting midi with my audio interface
