In all myths the hero goes through this "death," but now I'm beginning to understand what it is: the decentralization of the Ego. As in the Copernican revolution, the Ego (earth) learns that it is really the Sun (the subconscious) around which is revolves. The Ego is not the author of its own story; it is not the creator but the created. In a Christian context, think of how Lucifer (the created) wanted to supplant God (the creator).

correction, cant be the same blueprint because jesus knew who he was the one before the crucifixion, I can relate him to Morpheus alot more because of his role as the mediator, and neo as humanity, or the select few who come to realize their true potential and understand the ego enough to give their life fulfilling their true purpose. In neos case, with every shot he understood that they were oppressing him desperately for a reason, and it took him near death for his ego to die and wake up!

This is not entirely correct. What kind of "knowing" are you talking about? For even in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus asked if the cup could pass from his mouth. But in the end, he submitted his will (ego) to the Father and said, "Not my will but Yours." There is the knowing, and then there is the kind of KNOWING that makes you sweat blood.
