i love this whole album myself ... i actually got the chance to see them live. a friend of mine who knew the band said they were all tripping lol. it was a great performance
Original and best, but if anyone's interested I've just remastered the video for my cover of it that was on the "Sensory Lullabies" tribute album! You can see it at tinyurl com iwannastayhome
@ryremusic I did a cover of I Wanna Stay Home for the Jellyfish tribute album and I have a chord chart for it. Message me if you'd like it! You can see my video for the song on my channel. -DC
My dad likes this ong. I mean I like it too but... He's old sao that doesn't make me feel very good about liking it but... I do... is that bad?. IDK... ;p
There's nothing wrong with you if your dad likes this song...I think the thing that's going on here is that he's confused it with "Two of Us" from "Let it Be" by the Beatles; the line "We're on our way home" is the same melody as the line "I wanna stay Home" by Jellyfish. Get it? And if your dad is singing it thinking it's The Beatles, he's mentally retarded or done too much drugs; but if not and he just heared you playing it and likes it, he needs to get a fucking life. Either way he's a loser.
What a shame they never got more attention, because "Bellybutton" doesn't have a bad song on it, listened to it a zillion times from 1990 until today.
Awesome song! I loved this song after seeing the movie "Career Opportunities" and researched the band from there, finding the incredible album "Belly Button". What amazing talent!
Thank you for this. This song is everything good about my childhood. I remember listening to it out on the beach at our cottage on Lake Michigan. God bless my parents for loving good music:)
I remember seeing them @ Centerstage in Atlanta W/ World Party...God, what an incredible show, there was more talent on the stage that night than 50 episodes of American Idol. Beverly Hills 90210 played this song during the intro of the very first show, and I thought "Maybe this show has potential." Oh, but if music could return to the days when talent actually mattered!!!
Thanks for sharing that video. I followed the band all over the west coast until Chris left the band. Some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. I miss them and the great music they produced.
What a shame they were so short-lived. "Bellybutton" doesn't have a bad note on it. Thanks to my DJ-friend for giving me a copy of this way back in 1990. 2 weeks never pass without me listening to the CD.
Nice to see I wasnt only one remebering them play in England..I saw them at Notts Poly...long time again and yeah we all like here the music that makes our past
This is one of my favorites my Jelly....I LUV this song!! So talented and no other band out there could compare to them...I wish I could have seen them live...but ..I have their cd's and I still an inspired when I listen to their music..." take a walk on my blind side"...." I wanna stay home"
Jelly fish had truly lovely melodies and great songs. I saw them in Bristol University many years ago. Brilliant. Spilt Milk still gets played regularly round these parts.
I loved these guy's back the day - their sound was unique and no one seems to have that these days - all the bands of today sound the same - the 80's and 90's produced some truely amazing sounds - Jellyfish being one of favorites!
someone please help me...why did they break up? It has always been a mystery to me why they split and when they did, it was before the internet was as popular and you didn't find anything out other than what the douchebag diskjockeys would say on the radio. Instead they played Salt n'peppa...God I miss these guys.
No band has ever made me feel longing like Jellyfish. I miss them like I miss the sun....please come back Jellyfish!!! I saw them at SJ State...what a show...what a band. WOW!
the first time i heard/saw jellyfish was on the beach during spring break in galveston, tx on the first bellybutton tour. the show knocked me flat and i've been hooked ever since. i remember andy saying something about going for a walk on the beach before the show and seeing a bunch of dead jellyfish and hoping that wasn't an omen. hahaha.
Thank you for uploading this amazing video. It is my favorite song by one of the best unknown bands ever. Sadly, they had only two albums full of beautiful harmonies, songwriting, and a stand-up drum kit. Jellyfish must return to save the earth!
