It's an awesome tune that I used to work out to, but I remember reading some old wrestling magazine article criticizing Hogan's old theme song for sounding like outdated disco music. In the 80's, I guess anything even remotely disco was considered lame by the average rock fan.
I wonder if Barry Windham hadn't left the WWF in 1985 and the U.S. Express continued with him and Rutundo, if this song would have become Hogan's permenant theme song that he used for the remainder of his WWF career.
Is it just me? or is this song Amazing or what? In a way I think it's just as good as real American was. I recently just found out Real American was briefly used for barry windham & mike rutondo before they gave the song to hulk...
My parents bought me the album (Record) when I was like 3, in 86 that had this song on it. It had Grab them cakes and a bunch of other old school themes. It was great
Wow, I had almost forgotten about this theme, it had been so long since I had heard it. One of those themes where you don't hear it for so long, but yet as soon as you hear it again, it instantly comes back to you.

If I was a wrestler, I'd be pretty darn grateful if Jim Steineman, one of the best living American songwriters, composed MY theme music.

@DanimalBr
Perhaps. Though this is something I could work out to in the gym, especially during the intense stuff.

Fun stuff. I just learned that this was written by noted songwriter Jim Steinman, most famous for his collaborations with Meatloaf.
