Yeah, there seems to be confusion about what constitutes jazz. I see video after video of dudes playing blues style on 335-like gits, as if the mere act of holding one those axes invokes the ghost of Stevie Ray. Your video is terrific--I secretly play jazz on my strat and my Switch Oscar IV--love your technique and musicality (the most important thing, after all). It is, however, misclassified as "jazz" imho.

I have one of these pedals and really don't rate it at all. The sound is too thin and the amp models aren't very authentic.

Now I only use it if the band I'm working with specifically ask for loads of effects. Other than that I stick with the analogue pedals which don't take away the natural sound of the guitar as much.

I've read they are great in the studio but not tried that yet.

I wish it had a blend control so you could keep the original natural guitar tone and add effects to it.

I use Kinman pickups. The podxt is a nice product for its price. So is the Boss Gt-8 or 10.

that's some great... clean, accurate, tone filled picking. I can never pick that fast.. maybe its because how i hold my pick. Its angled.. but it just can't get that burst of speed. I'm stuck in a rut =/

keep the distortion level low and add some reverb and delay.

I would use either at the front of the amp (on the clean channel) or to the "Send return" in the loop. I suggest to tweak your own tones which will match your amp.

i want the pod xt for pink floyd tones like pulse versions of shine on and stuff along those lines. Do you either recommend or suggest against this processor for such a style? (or anybody else that can answer my question). If it isn't good for that, can anybody tell me what is? I want an effects processor that can do it all (or most) rather than get a ton of pedals

just take your time with your pod/ or with your own effects, even a "junk" multi effects can give you a great tone, as long as you take your time and find the best setting over it.
