god i loved playing this scene as Dancario back when I was performing this with my highschool.

I love the "grubby realism" of this opera. That is exactly the way it should be. I thought Dancairo was a little too touch-feely with Carmen but it didn't seem to bother her. I thought the singing was good not great. But the acting was outstanding!

Dancario is a womanizing smuggler...i am curious to see how..or if you could play him.

Sometimes the acting drives the music and passion. Opera is not always supposed to be flawlessly beautiful.

If you are too sensitive about the touchy-feely thing perhaps you should just stick to religious choral music.
